This year the Double of the Second Class Feast of Saint Anne, devoted Mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, supersedes the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost and what better day to celebrate "Grandmothers' Day" than this Sunday. What makes it all the better is it is not commercialized, but it will give you the opportunity to wish all grandmothers a blessed and Happy Grandmothers Day in honor of the greatest grandmother of them all - Jesus' Own grandmother Saint Anne.

What the True Church really teaches

     Help us reach more souls

There is no more vivid analogy of the money lenders in the temple in this Sunday's gospel than the Novus Ordo (read Bogus Ordo) churches (read lodges) today. This is the focus of what John Gregory provides with the Haydock Commentary How dare thou anger God and the sermon by Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI where he alerts all to Learn the Lesson from History to Persevere in the Faith. Just as the worldy had entered the Jewish temple, so also the world, eagerly prompted by the false pontiffs' own invitation to the world, had invaded the once-consecrated churches universally and turned them into a den of thieves. How you ask? By stealing the True Presence of Jesus Christ, Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, from the faithful through the invalid, sacrilegious, blasphemous new 'mass' of Paul the Sick, already prefigured by one Angelo Roncalli and the notorious, nefarious Anibale Bugnini. The altars were stolen away and replaced with tables, ala Protestant and Masonic lodges. Where God resided in the tabernacles, now the seat of man took center place, thus replacing the Divine. From there it was katie-bar-the-door and anything-goes that has only grown worse over the years by the occupation of the apostates.

As we complete this month of the Most Precious Blood, in asking God to sanctify, save, inebriate, wash and strengthen us in the Anima Christi and at every true Traditional Latin Mass when a true priest, acting as an alter Christus, consecrates the wine into the Blood of Christ after confecting the bread into the Body of Christ. We are also reminded in Sunday's Gospel of what many know in their hearts is right, but for some reason are afraid to admit. That is, since the death of His Holiness Pope Pius XII, the Catholic Church hasn't been the same. That's right, and Jesus tells us why. Because what poses as 'Catholic' today, governed by those usurping the authority in Rome and dioceses throughout the world, is a false church - a man-made religion that has eclipsed the true Church consigned in these times to the catacombs. Our Lord expresses how He truly regards these invading imposters by going all Indiana Jones on the reprobates who dare to defile His sacred houses of worship. He tells us who they are in St. Matthew 7: 15 that we must beware of the false prophets who may appear in clothing of sheep, but inwardly we must recognize them as ravening wolves or worse. If the faithful couldn't see the "abomination of desolation" (St. Matthew 24:15) and devious destruction of the true Faith during the regimes of the first five imposters since Pius' passing, they should surely see it now as Roman-born Argentine Mr. Jorge Bergoglio continues his agenda to wipe out any vestiges of Catholic truth that would be offensive to non-Catholics in his Marxist mindset to please man, not God through his humanist efforts to form a One World Religion. If one reads St. Paul's warning in 2 Thessalonians 2: 3-11 and what many would do in 2 Timothy 4: 3-4, we can more readily see what Our Lord meant in St. Luke 18:8 when He asked rhetorically if there would be any one of faith left when He returns.

How do we restore the sacred? How do we wake up the masses as to what constitutes a true Mass and that those in the CONciLIAR church of Vatican 2 do not have it? First of all, we pray. Then we do all in our power here at the DailyCatholic to bring you the full liturgy for the Propers of for each day of the legitimate true Mass of all ages which His Holiness Pope St. Pius V infallibly decreed cannot be altered and must be said in perpetuity. Then we link reliable sources that will not compromise with the Great Apostasy that has been thrust on the faithful over the past fifty-plus years. Out of all reliable sources verifying the above, NovusOrdoWatch provides the best play-by-play of the implosion of the counterfeit CONciLIAR church and the schemes toward a One World Order which is intent on erasing all true spirituality from this planet. Others worth checking on daily are for articles and links, as well as True Restoration and the following blogs that we heartily recommend Introibo Ad Altare Dei, Fr. Anthony Cekada's Quidlibet, Bishop Donald Sanborn's In Veritate, and the satirical, but on-point Call Me Jorge. We also point you to Traditio which, although the Father Moderators will not admit the term "sedevacantism", 95% of what they provide reinforces this position. Note, we provide here those sites that carry almost daily coverage and in no way demean other sites that update more infreqently. For those sites, please see Traditional Catholic Resource Port.

The only obstacle to totally dominating as a totalitarian society is the Roman Catholic Church. Always has been. Since the death of the last true Sovereign Pontiff Pope Pius XII on October 9, 1958 that wall of resistance has been steadily crumbling thanks to those with a worldly Marxist bent to accept the world and please man rather than God as is so evident today. Oh, the devil is laughing, but he seems to forget Genesis 3:15 where the Blessed Virgin Mary will crush his head with her heel. Oh, we can't wait! Until then, it's important to expose the wolves just as the holy Doctor of the Church St. Francis de Sales advises for the sake of informing souls of the dangers these charlatans pose.

It's also important that Protestants of every fabric, as well as those wedded to the dead-end Novus Ordo and its apparatchiks, realize Jesus founded only ONE Church upon the Rock of Peter and "the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (St. Matthew 16: 18). Just the fact the fortifications are crumbling is evidence the church since the 60's is not the true Church for if it were, then the conclusion would have to be Jesus was wrong. That is blasphemy. Ergo, we need only revert to the Act of Faith we say every day wherein we pray "We believe these and all the truths of the holy Catholic Church because Thou hast revealed them, Who canst neither deceive nor be deceived." Just the fact so many souls have been deceived proves it is not from God, but of His adversary lucifer and his legions. Also the fact that all other religions formed over the last two millennia Anno Domini were founded by men who thought they had a better idea than God give credence that they were all founded upon error. Thus Lutherans, Presbyterians, Methodist, Baptist, Mormons, etc. may call themselves Christians, but considering they subscribe to a sect that broke from the true Church, and thus have abandoned their stewardship as God expects, this should have them quaking in their boots for unbeknownst to them, most have embraced Mammon. We say that not to denigrate those born into or taking up a false religion, but to "Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine" as St. Paul urges in 2 Timothy 4: 2. For the Apostle of the Gentiles was given to know as he warned in the next two verses: "For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables."

The vast majority of Protestants and Novus Ordinarians do not realize this and it is left to true Catholics to inform them, to reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine. Basically it means upsetting their comfort zone. They may not like it, they may put up their defenses or do as so many do, change the subject and get away as fast as they can. But if we, as true faithful Catholics who abide by the infallible, perennial Magisterium of nearly 2000 years, do not do as Paul instructs in verse five to be vigilant, labor in all things, and do the work of an evangelist to fulfill our ministry while keeping sober, then we will be held accountable for our stewardship and face bad news at our Particular Judgment. We may not win friends with our persistence to proclaim the truth, but if we can convert souls, that's all that counts with God. Man has a free will. That is something to remember and when rebuked, then shake the sandals and move on. After all, all Our Lord asks is that we try. He'll do the rest. We conclude with the reminder of what Christ says in St. Luke 18: 7-8, "And will not God revenge His elect who cry to Him day and night: and will He have patience in their regard? I say to you, that He will quickly revenge them. But yet the Son of man, when He cometh, shall He find, think you, faith on earth?" The truth is there is little faith left and it is dwindling by the day. It all makes sense today and it makes sense to take our stewardship seriously and commit our efforts to restore the sacred by driving the apostates out so that the churches can someday, in God's time, become truly Catholic churches again after they are re-consecrated with the filth washed away.

The saints celebrated this week recognized the need to maintain the sacred no matter the cost. They chose the narrow path to forge their salvation, from the many martyrs honored this week in commemorations - Sts. Pantaleon, Nazarius, Celsus, Popes Victor and Felix II, Simplicius, Faustinus, Beatrice, Abdon, Sennen, and the Seven Holy Machabees. The Double of the Second Class Feast of St. Anne supersedes the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost this year. John Gregory presents inspiration on The Mother of the Mother of God; Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey shares A Heartfelt Letter from a Concerned Catholic Mom; and a tribute to Good Saint Anne, Patroness of Mothers by the late Denise Michele. Speaking of those who have passed, for the feast of St. Martha is the late Cyndi Cain's Lesson There is Work to be Done from her University of Virtue series asking if we're ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work on saving souls, beginning with our own. She did just that and now intercedes for all sincere souls to do the same. Bishop Daniel Dolan weighs in with a sermon on St. Martha and then at the end of the week another sermon on St. Ignatius of Loyola, who, if he could, would come back with a vengeance for what the usurpers have done to the Company of Jesus, of which he was instrumental in founding as the Jesuits If you buy into the social engineering of Bergoglio and his ilk, you'll realize you are one of the deceived for the CONciLIAR church is composed of two type of people: the deceived and the deceivers. Do you really want to be either? Like St. Peter in Chains, those who are shackled and still persist in their error of thinking the V2 church is Catholic most probably won't have an angel coming to free their soul from incarceration. To avoid being deceived, we bring you features to enhance the faith as well as more steps of Catholicism Made Simple as we finish up the Ten Commandments this week with again a reminder that they are commandments, not suggestions, folks.

While we see the edifications of the saints, we also must be aware of their adversaries who work tirelessly to dissuade souls from pursuing holiness. This is not something that has just happened, but was percolating for centuries and only came to the surface over the past fifty plus years with the cabal that corrals Catholics today with the notion that doctrine evolves and that everyone goes to Heaven. To alert souls to this deception, what we all must do is...

We urge you to join the 15-week Rosary Crusade organized several years ago by Bishop Robert McKenna, O.P. to do our part for the salvation of souls by bringing souls to the true Catholic Faith and Sacraments, for the welfare of our country, and for our own special intentions as we all strive for holiness in our role as members of the Church Militant. It also coincides with the First Saturday of August. Besides always wearing the Scapular, we all need to continue to pray the Holy Rosary as often as our states in life permit. The Rosary is the most powerful weapon we have. Connect those beads. Let's use it as well as taking advantage of the Sixth Saturday of the Rosary Crusade focusing on the Agony in the Garden, where Our Lord foresaw the great tribulation of our time and those who remained faithful and sweated blood in great sorrow for those who have not. With the first of August we begin to share with you a stanza a day from the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception in honor of the month dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Though I have already personally thanked each of those who have answered our plea here at SANCTUS/DailyCatholic, I want to publicly acknowledge their sharing and caring. To date we've raised just over $2,100.00 but are still $3,000.00 short of our necessary goal to continue publishing. As mentioned in last week's edition, almsgiving is part and parcel of salvation for we cannot take it with us and how we distribute our treasure and talents on this earth goes a long, long way toward what the verdict will be when we stand before the Supreme Judge at our Particular Judgment. The more who realize this, the more peace of mind they will have. We are not a church. Yet we have been a traditional apostolate professing, proclaiming and promoting the infrangible truths of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church for a quarter of a century. During this period we have always depended upon the mercy of our readers and benefactors and God has always provided, with the Holy Ghost prompting souls to donate. As you know, this long-running publication has always used that analogy for this publication in inviting all to "set sail with" We can confidently say, without a shadow of a doubt for all the years we've been publishing on-line, that we've never steered one soul wrong in all we've published. For our content has been in 100% accord with the infallible, perennial Magisterium of the Church firmly aboard the true Barque of Peter. Speaking of vessels, over the last year we've been taking on water even in a drought year, no less, due to a bilge of bills. To stay afloat we need to turn to you our readers. It has been well over a year since this editor made a plea for funds. Prior to that my beloved late bride Cyndi would write a heartfelt plea and benefactors would respond generously. With her gone, I'm not too good at asking for money, but purveyors need to be paid so necessity is the mother of invention and I have to ask. Speaking of mothers and Cyndi, it was Henry Ward Beecher who said "The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother." I can confidently say before God I loved their mother dearly and dearly hope that what we imparted as parents will sustain them in this chaotic world where the secular demons of the world, the flesh and the devil have eclipsed Christ's holy Church, chasing the faithful remnant into the catacombs of sedevacantist churches and chapels. That is where we are today, isolated, if you will, from the vast majority because of our belief in the true Faith. But belief alone, as strong as it is, isn't, unfortunantely, strong enough to move mountains or meet expenditures that continue to increase as the economy teeters. Therefore, of the $5,000.00 needed for this apostolate to continue as it has we're still $3,000.00 short. I set that amount for we have always budgeted $25,000. a year in donations and to date since January the total is $9,000. and we're past the half-way point of the year. Hopefully you can more readily see the deficit and why the DailyCatholic's plight is nearing a crisis point. I would hope and pray you will see in your heart the compassion to help and we remind you with the graphic below, repeated each day. We remind you we are a bonafide 501c3 non-profit so any and all contributions are tax-deductible. I also remind you that this editor does not take one penny in salary. It remains a labor of love. Now I just ask for a little love from our readers by clicking the graphic below to take you to our Donation page. Thank you in advance.

Michael Cain, editor, DailyCatholic

Anne (Hebrew, Hannah, grace; also spelled Ann, Anne, Anna) is the traditional name of the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Anne. All our information concerning the names and lives of Sts. Joachim and Anne, the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is derived from apocryphal literature, Though the earliest form of the latter, on which directly or indirectly the other two seem to be based, goes back to about A.D. 150, we can hardly accept as beyond doubt its various statements on its sole authority.
In the Orient the Protoevangelium had great authority and portions of it were read on the feasts of Mary by the Greeks, Syrians, Copts, and Arabians. In the Occident, however, it was rejected by the Fathers of the Church until its contents were incorporated by Jacobus de Voragine in his "Golden Legend" in the thirteenth century. From that time on the story of St. Anne spread over the West and was amply developed, until St. Anne became one of the most popular saints also of the Latin Church. The Protoevangelium gives the following account: In Nazareth there lived a rich and pious couple, Joachim and Hannah. They were childless. When ...More

The feast of St. Anne supersedes the 9th Sunday after Pentecost liturgy but there is a commemoration God is our Helper, and He will always come to our aid He will open the ears of His mercy to our prayers, and will not allow us to be tempted beyond our strength. Let us obey therefore with joy the precepts of the Lord; let us worthily attend In the temple the mysteries of the holy Mass, and partake of the Body of the Lord, the manna of our souls. This day's liturgy puts before us in the Epistle and Gospel, the terrible punishments incurred by the Israelites on account of their immorality and irreligion. Twenty-three thousand Hebrews perished in one day on account of their lust; several were killed by serpents for having tempted God by complaining that they had no other food but manna ; many were killed by the destroying angel on account of their murmuring (Epistle), and over a million Jews perished when Jerusalem was destroyed for having rejected the Messiah. They were thrown out of the Kingdom of God as the sellers were driven from the temple which ...More

John Gregory takes a break from polemics to provide an inspiring piece on Saint Anne in a similar style to his meditations on the Mysteries of the holy Rosary. There is much to contemplate on the intricate and intimate role good Saint Anne played in bringing forth the Immaculate Conception. He calls on the words of His Holiness Pope Pius XI in his encyclical Casti Conubii and the insight of the noted liturgian and Benedictine abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger in illustrating that through the cooperation with God and her holy husband Saint Joachim, she nourished the only person ever conceived without sin for a purpose she did not know except for her love of God and the child she carried. Staying true to her mission she dedicated and raised the young child Mary to prepare her for the greatest story ever told: the Redemption of mankind. John provides the contemplation in The Mother of the Mother of God

In honor of the Mother of the Mother of God we bring you an excerpt provided by Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey from a concerned Catholic mother who realizes her mission in life is to do all in her power to get her offspring to Heaven. No greater love does a mother have than to give her life for her children and most mothers do, but too often the world trumps the maternal wisdom learned at a mother's knee, those times when children learned to pray, to turn to Jesus and His Immaculate Mother and to learn their Baltimore catechism, to understand the concept of First and Last Things, so that they could pass on the holy Faith to their children. Today, that progression is, if you will, a lost art, for satan has so oversaturated minds and hearts, that to adhere to the solid principles taught in their youth is today a conflict with their daily life if they have succumbed to the world, the flesh and the devil. Thanks to Vatican II and the failure of the Church to be the guardian of souls, too many children have and therein the following letter. A Heartfelt Letter from a Concerned Catholic Mom

While today is not Mother's Day, it could very well be. At the least it should be "Grandmother's Day" because it is the feast of the greatest grandmother who ever lived, the grandmother of none other than the Son of God Himself. Yes, we are referring to good Saint Anne. The late Denise Michele submitted this article several years ago and it's worth re-running on this feast. Before cancer claimed Denise's life, she worked tirelessly in promoting mothering and mentoring mothers, herself a mother of a large family struggling over being forced into a lifestyle against everything she held dear, especially the importance of motherhood and their greatest gift: bearing children. This is a lesson lost on today's selfish, instant-gratification generation who have forgotten that the rewards of motherhood are 'rolled over' in Heaven forever. Why? Because mothers work in cooperation with God to populate Heaven, and this would never have been possible without the fiat of Good Saint Anne, Patroness of Mothers

To enhance each Sunday's Epistle and Gospel we present this special feature provided by John Gregory with the Haydock Commentary found at the bottom of each page of the Douay-Rheims Bible. For the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost the theme is that one does not know the hour of one's visitation, in other words, when he has to make an account before God of all he has done on earth. That is why St. Paul warned not to tempt Christ and why our Lord wept and then, in righteous anger, chased those out of the house of God who put more weight in worldly things. How we see this today in the once Catholic churches that call themselves 'Catholic' but are anything but. The time will come when they will be chased out by means known only to God and they will be restored to true houses of God where the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Mass of All Ages will once again summon the angels and His abundant graces for those willing to abandon a civilization currently in slavery to the world, the flesh and the devil. How dare thou anger God

Thanks to Traditional Catholic Sermons we are able to bring you a 21-minute sermon given a few years ago by Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI, Rector of St. Joseph Seminary at the City of Mary in Rathdrum, Idaho. Father begins by showing the results of Our Lord's prophetic warning of what would happen to Jerusalem as he relates how Christ's words were carried out to the letter in today's Gospel of St. Luke 19 and later chapter 23. Father explains in detail the results of the destruction of Jerusalem, thanks to the account of Josephus, and Father then ties it to the Protestant Revolution and French Revolution, Spanish Civil War to today where we face the Great Apostasy with the false CONciLIAR church that has turned from His teachings, for woe to those who, through indifference or sloth, neglect to correspond with their graces. Father asks are we guaranteed because we have the true Faith? No, we must live our faith and never be complacent in our Faith. He reminds us of Apocalypse 3: 15-16. That is result if we do not realize the causes as Father entreats us to Learn the Lesson from History to Persevere in the Faith

Today we move from those commandments which focus on how we are to treat God to the seven on how we are to treat our fellow man in fulfilling the divine Will. The Fourth Commandment is the crux, the crossroads to how much we love God by being obedient to those God has placed in our lives as parents, superiors and lawful authorities in accordance with the natural law. Today so many things have been blurred that generations have been programmed to believe they can do their own thing and that parents are there only to provide material things for them; superiors exist to learn and then climb the ladder after their jobs with little compassion or gratitude for the contributions made; and civic duty has been turned into greed and corruption, which illustrates why the world, especially America and Europe are in such dire straits because they have lost their moral compass because they have done what the head of the fallen angels refused to do: obey! See The Fourth Commandment: Honor thy Father and Mother

St. Nazarius was baptized by Pope Linus at Rome; in his turn he baptized the youthful St. Celsus. They were both beheaded at Milan about the year 368. Their bodies, buried in a garden outside the city, were found by St. Ambrose in 395. The body of St. Nazarius appeared as if it had just been beheaded. It was placed by St. Ambrose in the Basilica Romana. The body of the boy St. Celsus was found in another part of the garden, but was not removed. However, a basilica was later built in his honor. Pope St. Victor, the thirteenth in order from St. Peter, is famous in the ...More

The fifth commandment covers a multitude of sins that many may not even be aware of; sins that stem from anger, pride, envy...yes, it runs the gamut of the Seven Deadly Sins. Thanks to the heresies of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, the line has been greatly blurred where progressives call killing of animals and capital punishment murder and yet there are very few times they could be considered unjustified. We detail when they are, while also pointing out that it is important to also realize one sin against the fifth commandment goes largely unnoticed in today's society and it is murder most foul where in the United States alone 4,000 are slaughtered every day and yet, God forbid, it's legal in a Godless nation. Yes, we're speaking of abortion and there is a price to pay for taking even one life, let alone well over a billion when one correlates contraception and other methods of abortificients. God had a reason for establishing this commandment for He alone is responsible for creating life and ending life, not man. The Fifth Commandment: Thou Shalt Not Kill

Saint Martha is mentioned by name only in Luke 10:38-42; and John 11: 12, The Aramaic form occurs in a Nabataean inscription found at Puteoli, and now in the Naples Museum; it is dated A.D. 5 (Corpus Inscr. Semit., 158); also in a Palmyrene inscription, where the Greek translation has the form Marthein, A.D. 179.
The likeness between the pictures of Martha presented by St. Luke and St. John is very remarkable. The familiar intercourse between our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the humble family which St. Luke depicts is dwelt on by St. John when he tells us that "Jesus loved Martha, and her sister Mary, and Lazarus" (11:5). Again the picture of Martha's anxiety (John 11:20-21, 39) accords with the picture of her who was "busy about much serving" (Luke 10:40) ...More

Thanks to Traditional Catholic Sermons we are able to bring you an eight-minute sermon given six years ago on this feast by Bishop Daniel Dolan, pastor of St. Gertrude the Great in Cincinatti, Ohio. His Excellency tells about St. Anthony of Padua's great devotion to St. Martha and that man cannot live without bread and she is the essense of the active vs. the contemplative of her sister St. Mary. She is depicted in art as holding the asperges in sprinkling holy water as a sacramental driving out the dragon which represents the devil as she clings to the Word of God of which she heard our Lord speak so often during his visits to their home. She comes to us at each funeral as a reminder of Christ's question to her if she believes in eternal life and her testimony to Him. The Bishop then gives a special blessing for this feast in concluding his sermon on Saint Martha

On this feast of St. Martha, we bring you a lesson penned by the late dearly departed Cyndi Cain, which she wrote five years ago. She imparted some poignant thoughts. Lost today is the honest work ethic that enabled the apostles and succeeding missionaries to persevere in saving souls. No longer is hard work the desired goal; no longer are the rewards of sweat and tears on our hands and knees paying off because the payoff today is to make things as easy as possible. Lazy is the word and laziness breeds apathy and apathy breeds lukewarmness, and lukewarmness prompts the Lord to regurgitate those who embrace such out of His mouth. Cyndi wanted all to take a cue from the trendsetter for hardwork in our Lord's time - St. Martha - and learn from her example in serving others while at the same time realizing those others must return the favors by participating in God's plans and mission to save souls. They can do so by contributing either their time, talents or treasures. To skimp on these will not bode well when God tabulates the final tallies. We have the Holy Ghost to guide us. Why aren't we tuning in to the greatest technology available: listening and speaking to God!?! Cyndi, whose mission on earth is completed, reminded us that for rest of us There is Work to be Done

The sixth and ninth commandments are studied together because they both deal with commands about purity. In this day and age it would seem society relishes the sexual revolution as liberating, but if only they realized the consequences of that so-called freedom for it only shackles them to the devil's pitchfork from which they cannot extricate themselves unless they abandon their lustful ways. Today the mores and morals are topsy turvy and one wonders just how long the hand of God will be stilled before He revisits the same action He took with Sodom and Gomorrah...and today we are far, far worse than those Old Testament cities ever were. Never has a society been so perverted, so twisted, so lost. If we do not have custody of our senses, do not practice self-sacrifice and abstinence, do not heed the Sixth and Ninth Commandments we can expect to be turned to salt or end up in a very, very hot place. Those who value purity know the difference. The Sixth and Ninth Commandments: Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery and Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbor's Wife

Saint Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, was born at Loyola in Spain, in the year 1491. He served his king as a soldier till his thirtieth year. Convalescing from a severe wound received at the siege of Pampeluna, he was given, in the absence of other books, the Lives of Jesus Christ and of the Saints. It dawned on his chivalric nature that the Church has need of her army to defend under the sovereign Pontiff the interest of God against heresy and all evil.
On his recovery he ascended Montserrat and in the Benedictine Abbey there he laid down his sword at the feet of the Blessed Virgin. He learned here to love the Psalms and canticles of the Divine Office which he was later to recommend to the faithful; he desired that those who were to make his Spiritual Exercises should choose a dwelling whence they could easily go to the Offices of Matins and Vespers as well as to Mass. ...More

Thanks to Traditional Catholic Sermons we are able to bring you a ten-minute sermon given five years ago on this feast by Bishop Daniel Dolan, pastor of St. Gertrude the Great in Cincinatti, Ohio. His Excellency reminds us that St. Ignatius of Loyola was a former soldier, a Conquistador and he had seen bloodshed but wanted to save souls and to do so they needed to be educated, both the priests and the penitents. Thus gathering some priests together he spearheaded the founding of the Society of Jesus that has fallen on very hard times for there are hardly any true Jesuits left today for "the worse thing is the corruption of those who are the best" and before Vatican 2 the Jesuits were considered the best. Not today for they have sold out to the Modernists and embraced the Apostasy, being some of the most liberal going and who began liberation theology in the 20th Century with many leading Jesuits responsible for laying the foundatin for the Great Apostasy. His Excellency prays that we will have the fire of God's love that consumed Saint Ignatius of Loyola

From the very first sin people have been stealing from God and so few realize how deadly a sin theft can be for it is taking from our neighbor something that is not ours and playing God in the sense that we think we should have it instead of someone else. This mindset has led to wars, divorces, apostasies, what have you, leading to eternal damnation. The seventh and tenth commandments open a plethora of problems for those who think they can control others by stealing from them. This has evolved into such heretical governmental systems as Islamism, Communism, Fascism, Hegelianism and Atheism which only lead to chaos. The so-called "Social Justice" today has been so skewered by modernists that it barely reflects true Catholic teaching today. This has led to such aberrations as liberation theology. But what does one expect when putting their trust in man rather than God? Sadly, that is what Vatican Two did and, from that, we can see where that bad tree began and where the root of all evil begins and ends when fertilized by envy. See The Seventh and Tenth Commandments: Thou Shalt Not Steal Nor Shalt Thou Covet Thy Neighbor's Goods

Today is the Feast of Saint Peter's Chains. The chains with which Peter the Apostle was fettered from time to time have always been the object of veneration among the faithful. They are preserved in a basilica in Rome, which is called Saint Peter ad Vincula (in chains). The anniversary of the dedication of this church falls on August 1st.
The chains of the Apostle Paul are preserved in the Basilica of St. Paul. The reverence shown to the chains of the two apostles must have been very widely spread in olden times from the moment when Justinian I asked the Pope for "a portion of the chains of the holy apostles, if it were possible" and Pope St. Gregory the Great relates that in his day the faithful were eagerly desirous of the favor of possessing at least a small quantity of the filings of St. Paul's chains. The chains of St. Peter are in two portions, one having eleven links, shaped so as to hold the hands, and the other twenty-three links, at the end of which are two half circles to hold the neck. Only four links are preserved of the chains which bound St. Paul. Today is also the feast of the Holy Machabees, Martyrs The Seven Martyrs The Seven Machabees, brothers, and other Jews, suffered martyrdom for their faith in the second century before Christ, under the tyrant Antiochus Epiphanes, the impious king of Syria. They are the only martyrs who suffered before Christ that are honored with a feast of universal observance. Their relics were placed in the church of St. Peter's Chains beneath the new altar on August 1st. See the Mass Nunc scio vere

We complete the Ten Commandments with the eighth for our fate of being born with original sin on our souls all started with the first lie by the serpent in the garden and has mushroomed ever since. What is so deadly about a lie, like the deadly viper, it lies there, knowing very well the consequences, and yet it waits ready to pounce once the lie is told. The venom has been released. The victim can never fully recover nor can the one spewing poison fully make reparation. Thus both reputations are skewered - either to the one who the lie hurts or the liar himself whose own reputation for truth is sullied with every lie, not to mention the unspeakable harm to the soul. There are many ways we can bear false witness against our neighbor and today, with all the technology available, it has become a dangerous jungle that we have to navigate so very carefully to avoid the pitfalls and deadly sins that can annihilate reputations and souls. Only by putting on the armor of God as St. Paul urges in Ephesians can we protect ourselves from the slithering serpent who lies in his lair lying like a banshee for he is the evil principality on high who can lay us low, really low like in hell. Sanctifying grace is the only antidote to the venom of deceit. See The Eighth Commandment: Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness Againsts thy Neighbor

We are one third of the way through as August begins. We urge you to click the Rosary banner above for the Sixth Saturday in the Fifteen Saturdays Rosary Crusade organized by Bishop Robert McKenna, O.P. to do our part for the salvation of souls by bringing souls to the true Catholic Faith and Sacraments, for the welfare of our country, and for our own special intentions as we all strive for holiness in our role as members of the Church Militant. On this sixth Saturday of the Fifteen we now arrive at the Sorrowful stage of Christ's life with the Agony in the Garden where He wept in realizing how soon we would abandon Him for the world, the flesh and the devil. If only we realized He must be our only world and we all need to have contrition for our sins as is the intention for the Sixth Saturday

In honoring the month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we will run each day a stanza from the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception. It begins with the following:
Come, Holy Ghost, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.
    V. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created.
    R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
    Let us pray
O God, Who dost instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Ghost, grant that, by the same Spirit, we may be truly wise, and ever rejoice in His consolation Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Open, O Lord, my mouth to bless Thy Holy Name; cleanse my heart from all vain, evil and distracting thoughts; enlighten my understanding, inflame my will, that I may worthily recite this Office with attention and devotion, and deserve to be heard in the presence of Thy Divine Majesty. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. O Lord, in union with that Divine intention with which Thou didst praise God on earth, I offer to Thee these hours.
Then begins Matins with:
    V. Come, my lips and wide proclaim.
    R. The Blessed Virgin's spotless fame.
    V. O Lady, make speed to befriend me.
    R. From the heands of the enemy mightily defend me.
    V. The Glory be ending with Alleluia
Then begins the first stanza of Matins:

      Hail, Queen of the heavens,
           Hail mistress of earth,
      Hail virgin most pure
           Of Immaculate birth.

As much as we hate to beg, we have no choice. If you have benefited in anyway from what we have published, we humbly ask your help to keep this publication on line. We know that so many of our readers are unable to assist at a true traditional Latin Mass because of where they live and use the daily liturgy we publish to gain the efficacious graces possible through their prayers at home. We remain the only publication in the world to provide such and are grateful to God that we can provide such nourishment for souls. If you have not donated before, isn't it only right and proper to donate now? Whatever you can afford will be greatly appreciated. Just click the button below or send a check/money order to the address below. We are a bonafide non-profit 501c(3) religious association and all donations are tax-deductible. Whatever you would have contributed toward any bloated political campaigns or thrown away in the conciliar collection plates that only goes to covering up the sins of its presbyters and false primates while destroying all semblence of Catholicism, why not earmark it for SANCTUS/DailyCatholic? After all, shouldn't we all take St. Paul's strong counsel in 2 Thessalonians 2: 14 to heart and "stand firm, and hold the traditions which you have learned"?

To fortify why the CONciLIAR church is the false church, see key Papal Decrees that preceded it in pre-Vatican Two times by true Popes who solidly condemned the V2 false 'popes' who have spit in Heaven's Face.       We encourage you to learn more about the Traditional Latin Mass - the true Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in these videos at this link because each time you worthily assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in person, you gain graces that are placed in a "golden chalice", so to speak, and is offered to God to be weighed in substance when you stand before Him at your Particular Judgment. The more you have filled this chalice, the better will it go for your spiritual welfare in eternity, enhanced by your cooperation with grace. Know the Mass

When One Cannot physically assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass we provide additional prayers that can be supplemented with the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and the PROPER OF THE DAY to enable you to better prepare yourself at home. Of course, this never replaces actually being there, but it is much better than attending the Novus Ordo services. Therefore we have gleaned from The Key of Heaven prayers to say at home. It is very comforting to know that the Holy Mass is offered for us even when we are not actually present. But to enjoy the benefits which it procures, we must by a SPIRITUAL COMMUNION become partakers of the altar from which we are temporarily banished. Here we provide prayers in preparation for fulfilling assistance in absentia in addition to the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and PROPER OF THE DAY. PRAYERS IN ABSENTIA

    Prayer Before the Crucifix

Behold, O kind and most sweet Jesus, I cast myself upon my knees in Thy sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul I pray and beseech Thee that Thou wouldst fix deep within my heart lively sentiments of Faith, Hope and Charity, with true repentance for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment, whilst with deep affection and grief of soul I ponder within myself and mentally contemplate Thy five most precious Wounds; having before my eyes the words which David in prophesy spoke concerning Thee, O Good Jesus: "They have pierced My hands and My feet; they have numbered all My bones."

    Plenary Indulgence, Condition:
    • Confession
    • Communion
    • One Our Father
    • One Hail Mary
    • One Glory be...
Pope Pius IX, July 31, 1858

  • The Fatima Prayers

My God, I believe, I adore, I trust and I love Thee; and I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love Thee.
(repeat the above 3 times then bow your head in reciting the following:)

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in unison with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

O Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament!

O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.

The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary. And she conceived of the Holy Ghost.

Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to Thy word.

    Hail Mary...

And the Word was made flesh. And dwelt among us.

    Hail Mary...

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

    Let us pray.
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Angelus Domini nuntiavit Mariae. Et concepit de Spiritu Sancto.

Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructis ventris tui, Jesus.

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

Ecce ancilla Domini. Fiat mihi secundum verbum tuum.

    Ave Maria...

Et Verbum caro factum est. Et habitavit in nobis.

    Ave Maria...

Amen.
