That is the theme of Sexagesima. As we reach the sixtieth day before Easter in liturgical terms, it is important to realize, as Jesus tells us, that only seed planted upon good ground will bear good fruit. Those sowing seeds on rocky ground or sand will fall away for they are not nourished with truth, and only the truth will set you free to mix Gospels, so to speak, in also adding that a bad tree cannot bear good fruit and it is, after all, by their fruit you shall know them. Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI provides fertile soil with his sermon "Practice Virtues". Also throughout this week, the renowned Benedictine Abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger offers reflections each day for Sexagesima Week beginning on Sunday from his benchmark tome The Liturgical Year on true Catholicism and the traditional liturgy. We are also reminded that if we are caught up in the world, the flesh and the devil, we can be readily assured that rocky ground will be barren when it comes time for the harvest. If we do not KNOW our Faith, the true Faith and practice it, we will be like those on the sand, such as those Catholics in their comfort zone of the CONciLIAR church who don't want to take the extra effort to truly connect the dots, afraid of realizing their fruits will be fruitless unless they reach out for the good ground, yet knowing this, still remain in the sand, committing the sin of presumption that God will still save them at the harvest, while they remain on shifting soil afraid to dig deeper for they are not truly rooted in the Faith, or don't want to acknowledge they've chosen the wrong place to plant.

That is why our main purpose here at the DailyCatholic is to provide the necessary tools so that all may sow good seed in the fertile soil of Catholic truth from St. Peter through Pope Pius XII in order to reap an everlasting harvest. Three saints who did provide an abundance at harvest time and now enjoy being in the presence of the Beatific Vision are Saint Peter Damian, the holy Bishop and Doctor of the Church whose feast we celebrate on Sexagesima Sunday. Indeed, he was the Guiding Light in the Dark Ages. These times are also dark ages, just as it seemed following the Ascension when the Apostles chose St. Matthias (whose Double of the Second Class feast is Monday) to replace the traitor Judas Iscariot. Finally, the last on Thursday we remember the merits and holiness of the young seminarian of the Passionist Order St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin who, as a victim soul, offered up his life to Our Lady, becoming an Apostle of her Sorrows.

In preparation for Lent we continue with the passages of the Book of Daniel, this week covering Chapters Four through Seven. This includes Nabuchodonor's dream in which Daniel interprets how God had denounced the king for his pride; then the king's own flaunting at a banquet when his sentence is written on the wall where Daniel explains the meaning and the king's own demise on the battle field that very night.Because of this Nabuchodonor's son (or grandson) Darius favored Daniel, thus making his enemies envious and they plotted to charge Daniel with transgressions that would force the king to cast Daniel into a lion's den against his will. But as we all know, an angel of the Lord intervened and Daniel was preserved from the leonine beasts. Delivered from this, Darius died and Baltasar became king whereupon he also summoned Daniel to interpret his dream of the four beasts which was four kingdoms with the opposite kingdoms of Christ our Lord and the beastly antichrist.

We also continue with the inspirational and soul-searching words in the Prophesies and Revelations of St. Bridget of Sweden with Chapters Ninety-Four through Ninety-Nine as Jesus imparts words of wisdom to the bride. In addition, you'll find parts eight through thirteen of Fr. James F. Wathen's masterpiece exposé of the Novus Ordo titled The Great Sacrilege, which Father personally granted the DailyCatholic to publish on this site way back in 2001 on the thirtieth anniversary of it being published. We are now forty-three years since it was printed and nothing has changed, no one has been able to refute his words and the "abomination of desolation" only grows worse, claiming more souls for satan. Anyone having any doubts whether the Novus Ordo is a true Mass had better read this. It is not the true Mass but rather truly The Great Sacrilege.

Saturday is the First Saturday in March and it is the Blessed Virgin Mary and her divine Son Who encourage all of us "to go out and illuminate the earth". That is possible today with the technology of the web and social media. That's why we have been focusing on twitter, for, to paraphrase an axiom in less than 140 characters, brevity is the soul of witnessing. Yes, it's time consuming, and time is a premium right now for this editor as I want to dedicate as much time as I can to caring for my bride of nearly 33 years Cyndi, who is still having complications from her severe bout with the flu that just won't let go because her immune system is so weak. She has fallen three times this past week and her eyesight is failing her. We appreciate your prayers and concern for her and ask you to please continue to keep her in your prayers. Be assured you all are in hers as she clutches her Rosary and clinches her teeth to hide the intense pain she suffers. You'd have to see her resolve to believe it. I've grown to often take her suffering for granted, and I shouldn't for no one really knows how much she really endears in body, mind, and soul.

I know it's becoming monotonous to keep reminding our readers, but with bills in arrears of $1,500.00 we have no choice but to ask for donations. First, we cannot continue to publish if donations do not increase, especially monthly pledges so that we can budget. This becomes all the more vital for Cyndi's Angels Secondly, this is a labor of love and there are no salaries or any perks that other non-profits provide their executive directors, often in six figures. We're fortunate to garner the low two figures and we're grateful for that even though our debts are the same or higher. It's just a fact of life and we've repeated it so many time, it gets so tiresome mentioning that it's the same loyal benefactors who always answer the call, but few others. Ask yourself why? Ask yourself if you do not have a duty before God to help those who labor in the field for Jesus and His True Church with no compromises to the false faith, the "mystery of iniquity" and "operation of error" that has deceived so many "to believe lying". Is your heart that hardened that you wouldn't give for a worthy cause? Is not pledging a monthly donation worth it for perpetuating the one true Faith? The answer can only be determined by you and what you deem to be generous and worthy.

Each day we continue to bring you passages of the prophet Daniel in preparation for Lent, since Our Lord and Our Lady point to Daniel in the Old Testament as pivotal for our times. Verses are from the Douay-Rheims Latin Vulgate.

Daniel 4: 1-15
I, Nabuchodonosor, was at rest in my house, and flourishing in my palace: I saw a dream that affrighted me: and my thoughts in my bed, and the visions of my head troubled me. Then I set forth a decree, that all the wise men of Babylon should be brought in before me, and that they should shew me the interpretation of the dream. Then came in the diviners, the wise men, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers, and I told the dream before them: but they did not shew me the interpretation thereof: Till their colleague Daniel came in before me, whose name is Baltassar, according to the name of my god, who hath in him the spirit of the holy gods: and I told the dream before him.

Baltassar, prince of the diviners, because I know that thou hast in thee the spirit of the holy gods, and that no secret is impossible to thee: tell me the visions of my dreams that I have seen, and the interpretation of them. This was the vision of my head in my bed: I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was exceeding great. The tree was great, and strong: and the height thereof reached unto Heaven: the sight thereof was even to the ends of all the earth. Its leaves were most beautiful, and its fruit exceeding much: and in it was food for all: under it dwelt cattle, and beasts, and in the branches thereof the fowls of the air had their abode: and all flesh did eat of it. I saw in the vision of my head upon my bed, and behold a watcher, and a holy one came down from Heaven.

He cried aloud, and said thus: Cut down the tree, and chop off the branches thereof: shake off its leaves, and scatter its fruits: let the beasts fly away that are under it, and the birds from its branches. Nevertheless leave the stump of its roots in the earth, and let it be tied with a band of iron, and of brass, among the grass, that is without, and let it be wet with the dew of Heaven, and let its portion be with the wild beasts in the grass of the earth. Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given him; and let seven times pass over him. This is the decree by the sentence of the watchers, and the word and demand of the holy ones; till the living know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men; and he will give it to whomsoever it shall please him, and he will appoint the basest man over it. I king Nabuchodonosor saw this dream: thou, therefore, O Baltassar, tell me quickly the interpretation: for all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to declare the meaning of it to me: but thou art able, because the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

Let his heart be changed: It does not appear by scripture that Nabuchodonosor was changed from human shape; much less that he was changed into an ox; but only that he lost his reason, and became mad; and in this condition remained abroad in the company of beasts, eating grass like an ox, till his hair grew in such manner as to resemble the feathers of eagles, and his nails to be like birds' claws.

Then Daniel, whose name was Baltassar, began silently to think within himself for about one hour: and his thoughts troubled him. But the king answering, said: Baltassar, let not the dream and the interpretation thereof trouble thee. Baltassar answered, and said: My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thy enemies. The tree which thou sawest which was high and strong, whose height reached to the skies, and the sight thereof into all the earth: And the branches thereof were most beautiful, and its fruit exceeding much, and in it was food for all, under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and the birds of the air had their abode in its branches.

The venerable Benedictine Abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger presents a reflection for Sexagesima Sunday in which he reminds us that the seed of Faith which God has planted in us can only grow if we nourish it for a hardened heart will not be able to sustain the thorns that will choke out God's love and His graces. God does not stifle this, man does. Man must not forget that the Divine Sower expects good fruit for he plants in all the Seeds of Faith

Through the gracious effort of John Gregory, we can provide you the Haydock Commentaries for the Epistle and Gospel for Sexagesima Sunday to complement the Propers of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. In Father George Leo Haydock's commentaries on the Douay-Rheims version of the New Testament for Sexagesima Sunday he addresses the importance of our having our roots firmly implanted in the fertile soil of the Faith. Our Lord illustrates that those not firmly nurtured will fall away when temptation and the sirens of the world, the flesh and the devil lure them from the straight and... More

Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI, Rector of St. Joseph's Minor Seminary in Rathdrum, Idaho at the City of Mary presents his 16 minute sermon for Sexagesima Sunday in which he reminds us of the importance of today's gospel about the sower and planting seed on solid soil or on rock or sand. On the latter two, the good seed is blown to the winds whereas the solid, fertile soil will take hold. Yet we must be careful of the weeds that represent things of the world. We must weed out the weeds and thorns and nurture our spiritual life through prayer and penance in order to bear good fruit. Every seed planted is good seed but if it is not nourished, it will wither and die or be choked out by the cockle. The sower is Jesus Christ and is spread by those assigned by the true Church to preach the word of God. Father emphasizes the value of missionaries in the past who went out into the fields of the world to plant in souls the true seed of eternal life. Father explains in his sermon Practice Virtues

This year Sexagesima Sunday supersedes the feast of the holy Bishop and Doctor of the Church Saint Peter Damian who lived during the reign of sixteen pontiffs - some antipopes, no less. He was the first Doctor in over three centuries - a time when the Church sank into laxity and corruption, especially in the disciplines and when simony was rampant in ecclesial circles. It was truly the "Dark Ages" and into this darkness God sent a guiding light to reform His Holy Church early in the second millennium. This holy monk counseled seven popes. He was the first Doctor to be made a cardinal and he strove for sanctity by constantly denying himself any of the pleasures that could lead one to sin for in all things he always practiced what he preached for St. Peter Damian was truly Guiding Light in the Dark Ages

The late Father James F. Wathen now points to the most notable change that invalidated the Consecration of the wind, the words in the Epiclesis that are necessary for transubstantiation of the wine into the Blood of Christ and that would be "for many", Latin "pro multis". The Novus Ordo on mandate from Paul 6, changed it to "for all" which not only contradicts Christ's intent, but makes the Mass null and void, or as he has called it "The Great Sacrilege" for the Sacrament is not confected, but rather an aberration takes place for it is, as Jesus foretold in St. Matthew 24: 15, the "abomination of desolation". Father pointed out that the words "for you and for many" "pro vobis et pro multis" are a combination of Our Lord's words from St. Matthew 26: 28 and St. Luke 22: 20 as he quotes the codified Cathechism of the Council of Trent. The vital part of this chapter is to emphasize that it must be "for many" and not "for all" because the Precious Body and Blood in the Holy Eucharist can only provide grace for those who cooperate with grace. Therefore, since there are those who won't, it can't be for all but must be Pro Multis

We continue with passages of the prophet Daniel in preparation for Lent, since Our Lord and Our Lady point to Daniel in the Old Testament as pivotal for our times. Verses are from the Douay-Rheims Latin Vulgate.
Daniel 4: 16-25

It is thou, O king, who art grown great and become mighty: for thy greatness hath grown, and hath reached to Heaven, and thy power unto the ends of the earth. And whereas the king saw a watcher, and a holy one come down from Heaven, and say: Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, and let it be bound with iron and brass among the grass without, and let it be sprinkled with the dew of Heaven, and let his feeding be with the wild beasts, till seven times pass over him.

This is the interpretation of the sentence of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king. They shall cast thee out from among men, and thy dwelling shall be with cattle and with wild beasts, and thou shalt eat grass as an ox, and shalt be wet with the dew of Heaven: and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth over the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will. But whereas He commanded, that the stump of the roots thereof, that is, of the tree, should be left: thy kingdom shall remain to thee after thou shalt have known that power is from Heaven. Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to thee, and redeem thou thy sins with alms, and thy iniquities with works of mercy to the poor: perhaps He will forgive thy offences. All these things came upon King Nabuchodonosor.

The venerable Benedictine Abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger presents a reflection for Sexagesima Monday on death and why man can't seem to understand that no matter how much he might accomplish on this earth, it will always end in death. That is why holy Mother Church emphasizes during this penitential time that we must always be mindful and keep it foremost in our minds for if we do always focus on the Final Four Things beginning with Death, then Judgment, then Heaven or hell. We are reminded that Death is never to be forgotten!

In Chapter Ninety-Four of Book Four of the Prophesies and Revelations of St. Bridget of Sweden, our dear Lord visits the bride again, sharing with her prayers that she should say when dressing and why the veil stands for curbing vanity and incontinence, which Jesus abhors; He shows her that her shoes are for strength in her service for Christ; her habit for humility and modesty in emulating virtues of self-control while eschewing any fallen human nature tendencies. Finally, He advises her what prayers to say at meal and before she lays down her head at night; all to strengthen her in holiness, build up graces to fend off the temptation the devil directs towards those committed to God. Gird yourself in prayer.

In part nine of Chapter Four of the late Father James F. Wathen's book that the New Mass (Novus Ordo) is "The Great Sacrilege" he applies the fait accompli to it in showing the invalidity and illiceity of the Novus Ordo because it has veered so far from what was set in stone for the Form of Consecration by the Council of Florence and Council of Trent, both infallible, dogmatic councils. Father also cites Pope St. Pius V's De Defectibus which deals with the defects that would make the Mass illicit and invalid. Father dealt with the progressive plot to alter the Holy Sacrament of the Altar and the fact of Christ's Own command and the deliberate deceit of the Modernists who intended to downplay, if not eradicate, the sacrificial aspect of the Mass in favor of a mere meal, aka the Last Supper. That is why it's called a "Celebration of the Eucharist" rather than the Holy Sacrifice today. But there is nothing to celebrate for the Eucharist is not truly the Holy Eucharist since the sacrament was not confected. Such are some of the problems with Novus Ordo's claims of its Validity and Liceity

Today, tomorrow and Friday we observe the Propers for the Feria of Sexagesima Sunday ...More

We continue with passages of the prophet Daniel in preparation for Lent, since Our Lord and Our Lady point to Daniel in the Old Testament as pivotal for our times. Verses are from the Douay-Rheims Latin Vulgate.

Daniel 4: 26-34
At the end of twelve months he was walking in the palace of Babylon. And the king answered, and said: Is not this the great Babylon, which I have built to be the seat of the kingdom, by the strength of my power, and in the glory of my excellence? And while the word was yet in the king's mouth, a voice came down from heaven: To thee, O king Nabuchodonosor, it is said: Thy kingdom shall pass from thee, And they shall cast thee out from among men, and thy dwelling shall be with cattle and wild beasts: thou shalt eat grass like an ox, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
The same hour the word was fulfilled upon Nabuchodonosor, and he was driven away from among men, and did eat grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of Heaven: till his hairs grew like the feathers of eagles, and his nails like birds' claws.

Now at the end of the days, I Nabuchodonosor lifted up my eyes to Heaven, and my sense was restored to me: and I blessed the most High, and I praised and glorified Him that liveth for ever: for His power is an everlasting power, and His kingdom is to all generations. And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing before Him: for He doth according to His will, as well with the powers of Heaven, as among the inhabitants of the earth: and there is none that can resist His hand, and say to Him: Why hast thou done it? At the same time my sense returned to me, and I came to the honor and glory of my kingdom: and my shape returned to me: and my nobles, and my magistrates sought for me, and I was restored to my kingdom: and greater majesty was added to me. Therefore I Nabuchodonosor do now praise, and magnify, and glorify the King of Heaven: because all His works are true, and His ways judgments, and them that walk in pride He is able to abase.

Following up on the train of thought the venerable Abbe Dom Prosper Gueranger first reflected on last week, he wonders how ever any of us survived over the ages after the great flood of Noah's time. He attributes it to God's grace and wonders again at how many just men there are that God would hold back His hand and stay the same kind of punishment He unleashed back in that time when all mocked God and laughed at His chosen messenger for building a massive ark. Today that Ark is Christ's Church which well after the death of the holy Benedictine Abbot, thanks to Vatican II, has been compromised by His adversary. We wonder with Gueranger on how long we can prevent The Floodgates of Heaven

In Chapter Ninety-Five of Book Four of the Prophesies and Revelations of St. Bridget of Sweden, Jesus alerts the bride that the devil amasses his army for battle. They are near and in Christ's eye we see the devil on the battlefront with his sword at the ready. But our Lord vows not to strike until the devil draws first blood. He describes the meaning of satan's banner of gluttony, greed and lust; the devil's helmet as hardness of heart, and the eye opening in the helmet for carnal desire and desire to please man. The prince of darkness wields his shield as pride in perfidy and his sword as boasting of sin. But Jesus assures Bridget that when He calls His strike force, the devil and his minions will scatter like birds of prey taking with them only those souls who have already sold out. Yet all will be laid waste by the terrible swift sword of God's severe Justice. The battle between good and evil looms .

Father Wathen continues with part ten of Chapter Four in which he brings to our attention the fact that Mary, the Mother of God has been not only downgraded in the Novus Ordo, but any reference to her role in salvation has been stripped. No wonder she wept so at La Salette when she told the children "Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of the antichrist". Through God, she was given to see our very times. She most likely wept to hear a man the world thinks is a 'pope' to publicly say in December 2013, "Our Lady was human! And perhaps she even had the desire to say: 'Lies! I was deceived!'" What blasphemy in the face of the only woman God deigned free of original sin and which the Council of Trent decreed anathema sit for anyone suggesting she was not. Bergoglio is anathema sit, and not the only one guilty for The Dishonoring of Mary

On this Wednesday we observe the Propers for the Feria of Sexagesima Sunday ...More

We continue with passages of the prophet Daniel in preparation for Lent, since Our Lord and Our Lady point to Daniel in the Old Testament as pivotal for our times. Verses are from the Douay-Rheims Latin Vulgate.

Daniel 5: 1-10
Baltasar the king made a great feast for a thousand of his nobles: and every one drank according to his age. And being now drunk he commanded that they should bring the vessels of gold and silver which Nabuchodonosor his father had brought away out of the temple, that was in Jerusalem, that the king and his nobles, and his wives and his concubines, might drink in them.
Then were the golden and silver vessels brought, which he had brought away out of the temple that was in Jerusalem: and the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines, drank in them. They drank wine, and praised their gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, and of wood, and of stone. In the same hour there appeared fingers, as it were of the hand of a man, writing over against the candlestick upon the surface of the wall of the king's palace: and the king beheld the joints of the hand that wrote.

Then was the king's countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him: and the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees struck one against the other. And the king cried out aloud to bring in the wise men, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spoke, and said to the wise men of Babylon: Whosoever shall read this writing, and shall make known to me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with purple, and shall have a golden chain on his neck, and shall be the third man in my kingdom. Then came in all the king' s wise men, but they could neither read the writing, nor declare the interpretation to the king. Wherewith king Baltasar was much troubled, and his countenance was changed: and his nobles also were troubled. Then the queen, on occasion of what had happened to the king, and his nobles, came into the banquet house: and she spoke and said: O king, live for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, neither let thy countenance be changed.

In his short reflection prayer for the mid point of Sexagesima week, the venerable Abbe Dom Prosper Gueranger reminds us that just as God took just so much before saying 'enough!' so also in our time we must realize there are limits to His Mercy and if we do not obey His divine Laws then we must be aware that His infinite Mercy will be replaced by His infinite Justice and if those persist in sin they will feel the wrath of His Justice. All the more reason to fast and do penance and turn our attention fully to His divine Will as Dom Prosper urges us to remember If we do not obey God, Justice replaces Mercy

In Chapter Ninety-Six of Book Four of the Prophesies and Revelations of St. Bridget of Sweden, Christ reminds the bride of the previous chapter and the devil's army, some of whom are not fully committed to lucifer's legions but lean that way. They are but two feet away from our Lord and His loyal battalion. Jesus explains the meaning of each twelve-inch distance, the first being that all the good they had previously done is in great jeopardy and nothing good will lay ahead; the second representing their wickedness that feeds their lust to sin for their swords symbolize the intention to sin, drawn partly from their sheaths, the indecision prompting them to seek fame and fortune in this world with little thought of the consequences. Jesus warns that there will be consequences if they do not repent and right their ways. Two feet from hell.

We continue with installments of Father James F. Wathen's irrefutable work written in 1971. This was only six years after the close of the Vatican Two Council. Quite early, but it was the "Early Church" that the Modernists used as an example of why they were so drastically altering the altar, liturgy, and, yes, the Faith. You see these were the experts who tried to pull the wool over the faithfuls' eyes that what they proposed is how it was done in the early Church. How did they know? Were they there? No, but this is a tactic Modernists used to convince believers that there should be a return to those customs, which they totally mangled. What they were doing was to placate Protestants, not to convert them, but to be like them. Many saw this and cringed, but obedience was the key satan played on and thus, if the 'Pope' and Bishops said to do it, who were the uneducated, for the most part, to do but to go along. Thus, as Father Wathen explained in part eleven of Chapter Four of "The Great Sacrilege", the charlatans at Vatican 2 were able to foist on the faithful the false concept of renewal as The Purpose of Archaism

We continue with passages of the prophet Daniel in preparation for Lent, since Our Lord and Our Lady point to Daniel in the Old Testament as pivotal for our times. Verses are from the Douay-Rheims Latin Vulgate.
Daniel 5: 11-20
There is a man in thy kingdom that hath the spirit of the holy gods in him: and in the days of thy father knowledge and wisdom were found in him: for king Nabuchodonosor thy father appointed him prince of the wise men, enchanters, Chaldeans, and soothsayers, thy father, I say, O king: Because a greater spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, and interpretation of dreams, and shewing of secrets, and resolving of difficult things, were found in him, that is, in Daniel: whom the king named Baltassar. Now therefore let Daniel be called for, and he will tell the interpretation.

Then Daniel was brought in before the king. And the king spoke, and said to him: Art thou Daniel of the children of the captivity of Juda, whom my father the king brought out of Judea? I have heard of thee, that thou hast the spirit of the gods, and excellent knowledge, and understanding, and wisdom are found in thee. And now the wise men the magicians have come in before me, to read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof: and they could not declare to me the meaning of this writing.

But I have heard of thee, that thou canst interpret obscure things, and resolve difficult things: now if thou art able to read the writing, and to shew me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with purple, and shalt have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third prince in my kingdom. To which Daniel made answer, and said before the king: Thy rewards be to thyself, and the gifts of thy house give to another: but the writing I will read to thee, O king, and shew thee the interpretation thereof.

O king, the most high God gave to Nabuchodonosor thy father a kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and honour. And for the greatness that he gave to him, all people, tribes, and languages trembled, and were afraid of him: whom he would, he slew: and whom he would, he destroyed: and whom he would, he set up: and whom he would, he brought down. But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit hardened unto pride, he was put down from the throne of his kingdom, and his glory was taken away.

For Thursday in Sexagesima Week, Dom Prosper Gueranger reminds us of history and never has this been more pertinent than this very year where throughout the Muslim world we are seeing more hate being stirred for insurrection and taking over America by establishing Shariah Law. Why has it come to this? Look at what has happened to our beloved holy Mother Church over the past 50 years and how that coincided with the total collapse of morals and ethics in the U.S. and the world and we're ripe for the same fate as the Jews, the Romans, and those throughout the annals who turned away from God. The Abbot puts it in perspective. See Our time is ripe for retribution

In Chapter Ninety-Seven of Book Four of the Prophesies and Revelations of St. Bridget of Sweden, Jesus dispatches St. Bridget to speak to a lukewarm bishop who has risen in the hierarchy. She is to speak God's words to this prelate, utilizing the simile of a water wheel to instill in him an urgency to change his ways back to being a devout soul for he has lost the heat of devotion and holy meditation due to his own pride, ambition, and worldly entanglements which stop up the flow of graces via the water. To restart the wheel, he must take account of his vocation and return to the disciplines of the priesthood and carry out the duties of his office in humility and constant prayer. She reminds him what Jesus has warned of, and that is that he is accountable for not only his own soul but those of his flock for unless he and all shepherds reform their ways, it will not go well at judgment time. Woe to shepherds who dry up.

In part twelve of Chapter Four, Father illustrates how archaism was adopted to totally skewer the concept of the Pax vobiscum before the Agnus Dei. To do this, the Modernists highlighted the "Kiss of Peace", meant only for solemn High Masses between those in the sanctuary to incorporate now all in the congregation which has, essentially, turned into a love-fest "Love Feast" as Father called it as everyone reaches out horizontally to hug, shake hands, even kiss each other while ignoring He to Whom they should be reaching out to vertically to Heaven through the alter Christus who is no longer the "other Christ" but rather a mere presbyter who has no more power to confect the sacrament of the Eucharist than anyone in attendance. Father pointed out that to bring this to it's all-out revolution against the sacrality of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, humanism had to be emphasized in such subliminal ways as to give the impression the early church did this to "reconcile with thy neighbor" before approaching the altar. In effect, all barriers had to be removed and what has resulted is a free-for-all of social glad-handing that further took reverence from what should be one of the most sacred times in the Holy Mass, but since it is no longer a true Mass, and is not holy but rather "The Great Sacrilege", he exposes what is wrong with The Rite of Peace

We continue with passages of the prophet Daniel in preparation for Lent, since Our Lord and Our Lady point to Daniel in the Old Testament as pivotal for our times. Verses are from the Douay-Rheims Latin Vulgate.

Daniel 5: 21-31
And he was driven out from the sons of men, and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses, and he did eat grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven: till he knew that the most High ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he will set over it whomsoever it shall please him.

Thou also his son, O Baltasar, hast not humbled thy heart, whereas thou knewest all these things: But hast lifted thyself up against the Lord of Heaven: and the vessels of His house have been brought before thee: and thou, and thy nobles, and thy wives, and thy concubines have drunk wine in them: and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and of gold, and of brass, of iron, and of wood, and of stone, that neither see, nor hear, nor feel: but the God Who hath thy breath in His hand, and all thy ways, thou hast not glorified. Wherefore He hath sent the part of the hand which hath written this that is set down. And this is the writing that is written: MANE, THECEL, PHARES.

And this is the interpretation of the word. MANE: God hath numbered thy kingdom, and hath finished it. THECEL: thou art weighed in the balance, and art found wanting. PHARES: thy kingdom is divided, and is given to the Medes and Persians. Then by the king' s command Daniel was clothed with purple, and a chain of gold was put about his neck: and it was proclaimed of him that he had power as the third man in the kingdom.

The same night Baltasar the Chaldean king was slain.

And Darius the Mede succeeded to the kingdom, being threescore and two years old.

The venerated Benedictine Abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger speaks on how God chastises the world by the deluge; but He is faithful to the promise made to our first parents, that the head of the serpent should be crushed. The human race has to be preserved, therefore, until the time shall come for the fulfillment of this promise. The Ark gives shelter to the just Noah, and to his family. The angry waters reach even to the tops of the highest mountains; but the frail yet safe vessel rides peacefully on the waves. When the day fixed by God shall come, they that dwell in this Ark shall once more tread the... Ark of Salvation

In Chapter Ninety-Eight of Book Four of the Prophesies and Revelations of St. Bridget of Sweden, our Lord and Savior speaks again to the bride of what will happen to four types who fall into the category of lukewarm sinners. He will fire four arrows into them. He proceeds to inform her that the first to be shot is the one-eyed man who only sees the world's pleasures; the second is he who is lame and repents of his sins, but quickly relapses for he is not sincere in reforming; the third is he who is deaf in one ear for he wants to hear what God says, but also has an ear to the world's fleeting things; and the fourth is he who is sprawled on the ground. Even though he may want to heed all God wills, he still is entangled with worldly things. Yet God, as the divine Physician, can heal each of these fallen ones if they repent and let themselves be humbly led back to the reformation of their lives. Beware of the Four Arrows .

In part thirteen of Chapter Four of his book "The Great Sacrilege" Father James F. Wathen exposed the radical departure of Paul 6 in his Missale Romanum where the reform was so evident in putting on an equal footing the Word and the Eucharist, which is totally Protestant in every way and gives reason why today at least 75% of ConciLIAR Catholics don't believe in the True Presence. But why should they when the Modernists make such a circus of this sacred moment. You can see the difference just in the photos above where the priest, the alter Christus administers the sacred Host on the tongue for none should touch with their hands the consecrated species except for the priest or an ordained deacon, whereas in the new church of Vatican 2, anyone can touch it, do whatever they want and even drink the wine in the cup, as long as a "eucharistic" minister wipes it off. Can't have any germs, while, in truth, the germs for the soul are infecting everyone because of the norms of GIRM. Father showed how Montini and his Missale Romanum was the antithesis of His Holiness Pope St. Pius V's Quo Primum in dealing with The "Communion"

We continue with passages of the prophet Daniel in preparation for Lent, since Our Lord and Our Lady point to Daniel in the Old Testament as pivotal for our times. Verses are from the Douay-Rheims Latin Vulgate.
Daniel 6: 1-10
It seemed good to Darius, and he appointed over the kingdom a hundred and twenty governors to be over his whole kingdom. And three princes over them, of whom Daniel was one: that the governors might give an account to them, and the king might have no trouble. And Daniel excelled all the princes, and governors: because a greater spirit of God was in him. And the king thought to set him over all the kingdom: whereupon the princes, and the governors sought to find occasion against Daniel with regard to the king: and they could find no cause, nor suspicion, because he was faithful, and no fault, nor suspicion was found in him. Then these men said: We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, unless perhaps concerning the law of his God.

Then the princes, and the governors craftily suggested to the king, and spoke thus unto him: King Darius, live for ever: All the princes of the kingdom, the magistrates, and governors, the senators, and judges have consulted together, that an imperial decree, and an edict be published: That whosoever shall ask any petition of any god, or man, for thirty days, but of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.

Now, therefore, O king, confirm the sentence, and sign the decree: that what is decreed by the Medes and Persians may not be altered, nor any man be allowed to transgress it. So king Darius set forth the decree, and established it. Now when Daniel knew this, that is to say, that the law was made, he went into his house: and opening the windows in his upper chamber towards Jerusalem, he knelt down three times a day, and adored, and gave thanks before his God, as he had been accustomed to do before.

The venerable Benedictine Abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger completes his reflections for Sexagesima Week in properly recognizing Our Lady who, though a daughter of Eve, was, by the special mercy of God, preserved from the stain of original sin. Let us end this week with a like act of veneration and love towards this Immaculate Queen of Heaven. We, even the most saintly among us, have not only been stained with original sin; we have our actual sins to grieve over and do penance for. This should give us a higher appreciation of her, the one single member of the human family who never committed the slightest sin. Let us turn towards her, and give... In Chapter Ninety-Nine of Book Four of the Prophesies and Revelations of St. Bridget of Sweden, the Mother of God visits the bride briefly before her divine Son follows up, excoriating not only the Jews who cast such aspersions on Him and called for His brutal death, crying out "His blood be upon us and our children", but He also laments those true believers then and now who disregard Who He is and scorn His munificent charity and justice by presumptuously and knowingly sinning against His Commandments and by spurning His true Church's doctrines. He warns those who have been excommunicated from His true Church not to be flippant in thinking that God will be merciful and not to worry. Rather our Lord warns, nay threatens them with the fury and wrath of His Justice. Woe to those who scorn Jesus .

Father James F. Wathen pointed out the great danger of ecumenism, a heresy if there ever was one and a violation of the First Commandment for it was a return to worshipping Baal. He had the foresight to see way back in 1971 what we would be facing in 2014 when the "all should be one" would be so construed as to deceive even the elect just as Jesus foretold and St. Paul warned. But through demonic sources and the "Age of Aquarius" sixties, guards were dropped and seeping in was the slithering serpent where we see today the bitter fruits. Virtue is now vice, good is evil, while vice is excused and merely a victim of those fundamental neo-pelogians as unFrancis so boldly lashed out at the only remnant segment who still cling to the true Faith. It is typical of liberals, progressives, Modernists, Marxists, they're all the same. They will seek to eliminate boundaries and compromise belief, forgetting things of Heaven for the world awaits the New One World Order Religion and the Modernists of Vatican 2 have led the way for the past 50 plus years in apostasy, mainly because of the heresy of "Ecumenism"

We encourage you to learn more about the Traditional Latin Mass - the true Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in these videos at this link because each time you worthily assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in person, you gain graces that are placed in a "golden chalice", so to speak, and is offered to God to be weighed in substance when you stand before Him at your Particular Judgment. The more you have filled this chalice, the better will it go for your spiritual welfare in eternity, enhanced by your cooperation with grace. Know the Mass

When One Cannot physically assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass we provide additional prayers that can be supplemented with the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and the PROPER OF THE DAY to enable you to better prepare yourself at home. Of course, this never replaces actually being there, but it is much better than attending the Novus Ordo services. Therefore we have gleaned from The Key of Heaven prayers to say at home. It is very comforting to know that the Holy Mass is offered for us even when we are not actually present. But to enjoy the benefits which it procures, we must by a SPIRITUAL COMMUNION become partakers of the altar from which we are temporarily banished. Here we provide prayers in preparation for fulfilling assistance in absentia in addition to the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and PROPER OF THE DAY. PRAYERS IN ABSENTIA

    Prayer Before the Crucifix

Behold, O kind and most sweet Jesus, I cast myself upon my knees in Thy sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul I pray and beseech Thee that Thou wouldst fix deep within my heart lively sentiments of Faith, Hope and Charity, with true repentance for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment, whilst with deep affection and grief of soul I ponder within myself and mentally contemplate Thy five most precious Wounds; having before my eyes the words which David in prophesy spoke concerning Thee, O Good Jesus: "They have pierced My hands and My feet; they have numbered all My bones."

    • Communion

  • The Fatima Prayers

My God, I believe, I adore, I trust and I love Thee; and I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love Thee.
(repeat the above 3 times then bow your head in reciting the following:)

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in unison with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

O Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament!

O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.

We continue with passages of the prophet Daniel in preparation for Lent, since Our Lord and Our Lady point to Daniel in the Old Testament as pivotal for our times. Verses are from the Douay-Rheims Latin Vulgate.

    Daniel 6: 11-28

Wherefore those men carefully watching him, found Daniel praying and making supplication to his God. And they came and spoke to the king concerning the edict: O king, hast thou not decreed, that every man that should make a request to any of the gods, or men, for thirty days, but to thyself, O king, should be cast into the den of the lions? And the king answered them, saying: The word is true according to the decree of the Medes and Persians, which it is not lawful to violate. Then they answered, and said before the king: Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Juda, hath not regarded thy law, nor the decree that thou hast made: but three times a day he maketh his prayer. Now when the king had heard these words, he was very much grieved, and in behalf of Daniel he set his heart to deliver him and even till sunset he labored to save him. But those men perceiving the king' s design, said to him: Know thou, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, that no decree which the king hath made, may be altered.

Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of the lions. And the king said to Daniel: Thy God, Whom thou always servest, He will deliver thee. And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den: which the king sealed with his own ring, and with the ring of his nobles, that nothing should be done against Daniel. And the king went away to his house and laid himself down without taking supper, and meat was not set before him, and even sleep departed from him. Then the king rising very early in the morning, went in haste to the lions' den: And coming near to the den, cried with a lamentable voice to Daniel, and said to him: Daniel, servant of the living God, hath thy God, Whom thou servest always, been able, thinkest thou, to deliver thee from the lions?

And Daniel answering the king, said: O king, live for ever: My God hath sent His angel, and hath shut up the mouths of the lions, and they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before Him justice hath been found in me: yea and before thee, O king, I have done no offence. Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and he commanded that Daniel should be taken out of the den: and Daniel was taken out of the den, and no hurt was found in him, because he believed in his God.

And by the king's commandment, those men were brought that had accused Daniel: and they were cast into the lions' den, they and their children, and their wives: and they did not reach the bottom of the den, before the lions caught them, and broke all their bones in pieces. Then king Darius wrote to all people, tribes, and languages, dwelling in the whole earth: PEACE be multiplied unto you.

It is decreed by me, that in all my empire and my kingdom all men dread and fear the God of Daniel. For he is the living and eternal God for ever: and his kingdom shall not be destroyed, and his power shall be for ever. He is the deliverer, and saviour, doing signs and wonders in heaven, and in earth: who hath delivered Daniel out of the lions' den. Now Daniel continued unto the reign of Darius, and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

    Daniel 7: 1-28

In the first year of Baltasar king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream: and the vision of his head was upon his bed: and writing the dream, he comprehended it in few words: and relating the sum of it in short, he said: I saw in my vision by night, and behold the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. And four great beasts, different one from another, came up out of the sea. The first was like a lioness, and had the wings of an eagle: I beheld till her wings were plucked off, and she was lifted up from the earth, and stood upon her feet as a man, and the heart of a man was given to her. And behold another beast like a bear stood up on one side: and there were three rows in the mouth thereof, and in the teeth thereof, and thus they said to it: Arise, devour much flesh.
After this I beheld, and lo, another like a leopard, and it had upon it four wings as of a fowl, and the beast had four heads, and power was given to it. After this I beheld in the vision of the night, and lo, a fourth beast, terrible and wonderful, and exceeding strong, it had great iron teeth, eating and breaking in pieces, and treading down the rest with its feet: and it was unlike to the other beasts which I had seen before it, and had ten horns. I considered the horns, and behold another little horn sprung out of the midst of them: and three of the first horns were plucked up at the presence thereof: and behold eyes like the eyes of a man were in this horn, and a mouth speaking great things. I beheld till thrones were placed, and the Ancient of days sat: his garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like clean wool: his throne like flames of fire: the wheels of it like a burning fire. A swift stream of fire issued forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times a hundred thousand stood before him: the judgment sat, and the books were opened.

I beheld because of the voice of the great words which that horn spoke: and I saw that the beast was slain, and the body thereof was destroyed, and given to the fire to be burnt: And that the power of the other beasts was taken away: and that times of life were appointed them for a time, and a time.

I beheld therefore in the vision of the night, and lo, one like the Don of man came with the clouds of Heaven, and he came even to the Ancient of days: and they presented him before him. And He gave him power, and glory, and a kingdom: and all peoples, tribes and tongues shall serve Him: his power is an everlasting power that shall not be taken away: and His kingdom that shall not be destroyed. My spirit trembled, I Daniel was affrighted at these things, and the visions of my head troubled me.

I went near to one of them that stood by, and asked the truth of Him concerning all these things, and He told me the interpretation of the words, and instructed me: These four great beasts are four kingdoms, which shall arise out of the earth. But the saints of the most high God shall take the kingdom: and they shall possess the kingdom for ever and ever. After this I would diligently learn concerning the fourth beast, which was very different from all, and exceeding terrible: his teeth and claws were of iron: he devoured and broke in pieces, and the rest he stamped upon with his feet: And concerning the ten horns that he had on his head: and concerning the other that came up, before which three horns fell: and of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth speaking great things, and was greater than the rest.

I beheld, and lo, that horn made war against the saints, and prevailed over them, Till the Ancient of days came and gave judgment to the saints of the most High, and the time came, and the saints obtained the kingdom. And thus He said: The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be greater than all the kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. And the ten horns of the same kingdom, shall be ten kings: and another shall rise up after them, and he shall be mightier than the former, and he shall bring down three kings. And he shall speak words against the High One, and shall crush the saints of the most High: and he shall think himself able to change times and laws, and they shall be delivered into his hand until a time, and times, and half a time.

And judgment shall sit, that his power may be taken away, and be broken in pieces, and perish even to the end. And that the kingdom, and power, and the greatness of the kingdom, under the whole Heaven, may be given to the people of the saints of the most High: Whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all kings shall serve Him, and shall obey Him. Hitherto is the end of the word. I Daniel was much troubled with my thoughts, and my countenance was changed in me: but I kept the word in my heart.
