  •    2011 marks the 14th year of publishing The DailyCatholic. We're actually into our 22nd year of publishing, having begun publishing in print in 1990 on the Feast of St. Michael with A Call To Peace, but the fourteenth on the internet, which originated with our publishing the monthly Catholic-Internet Network on January 1, 1996 until debuting The DailyCatholic on November 1, 1997. For 2011, the above slogan will be the benchmark for The DailyCatholic, "Fight 4 Your Faith" because we have entered a time unprecedented in Church annals and, for that matter, in the history of our country and, in fact, of the world for satan has been having a field day and we've been, for the most part, lulled into an apathetic stupor while countless souls are lost. Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey brings this home in every article, most recently Content With Sloth. In fact, as we write this the traditional Christ the King Abbey in Cullman, Alabama is in danger of being usurped by conciliarists, pouncing on the fact dear Abbot Leonard Giardina, O.S.B. is near death. The Modernists are using this setback to smother true Catholicism. Oh, the devil is active for sadly the Robber Barons are at the Gate of the Abbey

It's time to reverse this current tragic trend and win souls back for Christ and His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. We know that the Modern Church has none of those indelible marks. Ergo, the true Church is in eclipse, in the catacombs, but definitely alive, retaining the four indelible Marks of the Church; thus the use of the number 4 in the slogan "Fight 4 Your Faith". Therefore, as Catholics we must fight to preserve and perpetuate the holy Faith. As Catholics it is our duty to be the shining examples in exemplifying the virtues and edifying those we interact with as we pray that the Holy Ghost will touch hardened hearts and, through God's grace, they will willingly realize there is only one True Church, and will understand the Dogma of Extra Ecclesiae Nullam Salus, "Outside the Church, there is no salvation." Our own salvation could very well depend on whether we're willing to generously share the truths of our Faith.

So how do you "Fight 4 Your Faith" you ask? First, by striving to remain in the state of Sanctifying Grace by making a good confession in the Sacrament of Penance to a truly ordained priest, then assisting exclusively at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as it was at the time of the death of the last true Pope, His Holiness Pius XII or the liturgy at the time of Pope St. Pius X. In case you hadn't noticed, that would be the Traditional Latin Mass which should never, ever be associated with the Novus Ordo introduced by Paul vi or the Motu Mess concocted by Benedict xvi. Then, we urge you to study the Councils and Encyclicals that can be found on our Credo and Culture portal. We have always maintained: don't take our word for it, see for yourself what the infallible, perennial Magisterium of the Church has said and why it is not we who have determined that the conciliar 'popes' cannot have been true popes, but the Church Herself! We ask you to make it a mission to not be afraid to talk about your Faith, to pique the interest of others; to challenge those who have been deceived and do not understand what happened at Vatican II. Remind them of what they had and if they are too young, help educate them from what you have learned. Have them write to us if you don't know how to answer their question. It's all about being involved in 2011. You can't "Fight 4 Your Faith" if you're on the sidelines!

Therefore, we also encourage you to review the Archives where we have more than 40,000 pages available and we heartily invite you to come back often to The DailyCatholic as we hope to resume daily publication on Holy Family Sunday. How often we publish will be directly contingent on how you, our readers, respond to our need for financial assistance to keep this publication on the net. We repeat for the umpteenth time that SANCTUS, the parent organization of The DailyCatholic is a non-profit entity dependant totally on donations and there is not one cent that goes to salaries. It remains for us, and we hope for you, a labor of love that will produce countless fruits that will be known only when each of us reach that time when we account for what we did for Christ and His Church before our Supreme Judge. We respectfully ask that you would consider a pledge of your choosing by going to Carrying on the Apostolic Mission...in Their Footsteps.

Most recent pertinent articles from Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey at Christ or chaos:
  • Content With Sloth The recent blizzard that hit the Big Apple on the last weekend of the year has had many repercussions, and Tom nails the problem: sloth and deliberate sabotage by the unions in a slowdown mode to disable and prevent normal traffic in and out of the city. But it is nothing new to those who forget there are consequences to their actions for God will not be mocked and will have the final say when they stand before Him. Isn't it about time the public woke up to those taking advantage of others? Perhaps we ourselves have been too lax in allowing it, in not speaking out more forcefully. 12-31

  • To Men of Good Will The dead-in-the-wool Hegelian who is Joseph Ratzinger continues to confuse those who do not truly know their Faith by masquerading as a Catholic pope with platitudes that might sound Catholic during public pronouncements on Catholic feasts, but read beneat the veneer and you'll see the drops of poison he has instilled since his days in Germany. Can you imagine what the caldron holds today? There has been nothing in the past half century to eradicate the poison which previous reliable and true Popes warned against and condemned, specifically Pope Leo XIII's Satis Cognitum. But Benedict is puffed up as a bladder as Pope St. Pius X described in Pascendi Domenici Gregis and we might add that when the Modernist Ratzinger seeks to see things in a "new light" that light is invariably from the "bearer of light", translated: Lucifer. 12-29

  • Hush, Hush, Don't Tell the People Contrary to the left politicos and MSM wags, death panels are definitely in Obamacare even if such legislation was eliminated in the final package, but, as Tom points out, dictators who have no respect for God's Natural Laws will be the first to violate human rights and it is a pattern that has been prevalent in history, yes, even in these United States from its very founding. Thanks to the total sell-out by the Modernist church of Rome, we have a so-called Catholic vice-president, former speaker of the house, and several others in power who have empowered Barry Nobama to do whatever he wants to do including skirt Congress on death panels as well as governing the internet. Who knows what's next? Perhaps our days on the internet are numbered. That we leave to God for He alone knows how this will all end, but right now He surely cannot be pleased that we, as a nation and as concerned Catholics have allowed it to happen. 12-28

  • Honesty and Truth Though it may seem hard to believe, there are some who exagerate the damage Ratzinger and his cohorts in sin are doing but it begs the question, why? Benedict XVI and his potentates have exhibited enough evil that it doesn't have to be caricaturized. It stands on its own as stinging evidence of the fulfillment of Our Lady's prophecy at La Salette: "Rome will lose the Faith, and become the seat of the Antichrist." Rome is the new Babylon as St. Peter called it and as the Apocalypse terms it in the last days. Yes, we are reaching those times for Modern Rome has abandoned Eternal Rome and gives credence to every religion just as the ancient Romans did to compromise and conquer. Sadly, the only thing Modern Rome is conquering are more souls for satan. Sad but true and that is nothing to make fun of. 12-22

  • Still Preparing the Way for Antichrist The world today is a mess, but you knew that. Did you know that the reason for the reigning chaos can be traced to the very fact that the moral beacon that had always been the Catholic Church has been aiming in a different direction than God wills; rather they are taking their marching orders from satan, which is evident by the words and actions of Ratzinger and his cronies and his predecessors as well over the past 50 years. A Catholic from the 50's wouldn't recognize the world, and you know he wouldn't recognize his beloved Church. Yes, God will have His day and we had better be prepared as St. John the Baptist alerts us in Gospel for the Fourth Sunday of Advent. 12-20

  • Benedict in Wonderland With apologies to Lewis G. Carroll, he missed the boat on his characterization of the Mad Hatter for had he lived today he would have had an ideal candidate in one Joseph Ratzinger, alias Benedict XVI. Whether he's leering at topless male acrobats as he did a few days ago in a shameless exhibit in the Vatican or proclaiming another false religion as perfectly fine while failing to suborn even one conciliar potentate for their complicity in the perversion and scandals that have ravaged the counterfeit church of conciliarism, he is truly mad. Only insanity could absolve him before God because before man he is an out and out radical heretic even if everyone else pretends they can't see the cheshire cat. Meow! 12-17

Evidence of the "operation of error" that is the counterfeit church of conciliarism from other sites:

  • We Should Attack and Discredit the Agent of Error In 1960 the Spanish priest Fr. Felix Sarada y Salvani tried to alert all that the liberals would try to turn the tables and accuse true Catholics of hate whenever they were attacked. That trend of diversion continues today and it's time it's stopped. Why? Because as the Fathers and Doctors of the Church, as well as many Saints and true Popes, such as Paul IV, St. Pius V, Leo XIII, St. Pius X to name a few, emphasized: we must attack the person spouting heresy in order to defuse the weapon he uses. It's warfare and we have to strike at the heart of the enemy with forceful words to discredit them, but always with the sword of truth. Therefore, Fr. Salvani's words should reassure and justify traditional publications, sites and writers who have been accused of being mean-spirited when they attack the heresies of the conciliar popes and potentates who have been firing slings and arrows expecting traditional Catholics to be more "charitable" while they wreak havoc on souls with their Hegelian, Modernist bafflegab and gobbledygook that has so confused countless souls. from Tradition in Action 11-20

  • The Fatima Prayers
My God, I believe, I adore, I trust and I love Thee; and I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love Thee.
(repeat the above 3 times then bow your head in reciting the following:)

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in unison with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

O Most Holy Trinity, I addore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament!

O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.

The eight maids a-milking represent the Eight Beatitudes preached by Jesus Christ on His sermon on the mount and which Catholics, no matter how persecuted, could practice good deeds through the Beatitudes and gain great consolation and courage from these. It exemplifies the Christian attitude He called for in the Two Great Commandments, to love God with all our might and, secondly, because we love Him, to love our neighbors as ourselves. On this first day of the year we celebrate the human nature of Christ as He, through His obedient, holy Mother Mary and foster father St. Joseph, shed the first drop of His Most Precious Blood with His Circumcision which would be shed 33 years later to the very last drop on the cross for us. No greater love can anyone have than He would give His Own life for others - us, so that we could, through His merits, attain everlasting life. There is no better New Year's Resolution to hold to than that. Lost in the shuffle this year is the fact that this holy day of obligation is also the opportunity for First Saturday Devotions and an excellent way to jump start 2011. For the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for this Solemnity, see Solemnity of the Circumcision

The nine ladies dancing is not about partying but rather the Nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit as described in Galatians 5: 22 - "But the fruit of the Spirit is: charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, modesty and continency." These fruits helped Catholics to practice the virtues and remind fellow Catholics how to stay out of harm's way as far as their souls were concerned. This is excellent advice as we honor the holiest of names, Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior, including our all praying the beautiful Litany of the Most Holy Name of Jesus for, as St. Paul proclaims in today's Introit and Epistle respectfully, "In the name of Jesus let every knee bow of those that are in Heaven, on earth, and under the earth; and let every tongue confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father" and "For there is no other name under Heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved." For today's Holy Mass, see Double of the Second Class Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus

The ten lords a-leaping symbolize the Law of God - the Ten Commandments. It was not a leap to obey the Ten Commandments given to Moses on Mount Sinai for the Protestants, who were persecuting the Catholics of those times and countries, also believed in the Ten Commandments, but the reference to "lords" was in reference to the rich and powerful for they were the ones who could change the laws that governed persecution and curtailment of the Catholic Faith. Yet it was the "lords" who were lax in obeying God's laws and Catholics wanted to remind their fellow Catholics that no matter how wealthy or spoiled the princes were, faith and perseverance was more important by reminding them of the law of ages and that Jesus shed the very first of His blood for us on the Circumcision and would go on to shed every drop on the Cross to redeem those who keep His Commandments. On this Octave Day of the Feast of St. John the Evangelist, we are reminded of the fidelity of the beloved disciple and both his Gospel, Epistles and a book very much coming into focus today: the Apocalypse. For today's Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, see Feria of the Holy Name of Jesus Sunday or Octave Day of the Feast of St. John, Apostle.

The eleven pipers piping stood for the Eleven Faithful Apostles who stuck with Jesus when seemingly all others had abandoned Him. They were referred to as "pipers" for they indeed were sent out to all corners to spread the Gospel as Our Lord had commanded and, like the "Pied Piper of Hamlin" they attracted many to the One, True Faith. It was a way for Catholics to remind their fellow faithful to keep this in mind during the hard times for all but Saint John were persecuted and martyred for the faith. Speaking of martyrs, this is the Octave Day of the Holy Innocents. If they remained faithful to their Faith and to Jesus, they, too, would one day enjoy the same rewards of Heavenly bliss, continuing to adore, obey and honor Him always as we do today in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass Feria of the Holy Name of Jesus Sunday or Octave Day of the Feast of the Holy Innocents.

The twelve drummers drumming represented the Twelve Points or Articles of Belief in the APOSTLES' CREED. It's interesting that Catholics chose drummers for their symbolism for to keep reminding each other of the twelve points of the solid creed known as the Apostles' Creed for this was their profession of faith and there was a constant need to keep hammering home this point or should we say "bang the drum" so fellow Catholics would get the "beat" and get into a rhythm of their religion, encouraged by all Jesus promised and professed in the Creed. Today we observe the Vigil of the Epiphany, in anticipatin of the day traditionally accepted of when the three Magi from the East arrived about a year after Christ was born, bringing Him regal gifts of Gold, Frankincense, and Myhrr. For the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, see Vigil of the Epiphany of Our Lord

It is a tradition to take blessed chalk and mark the top frame of the front door of your home with the letters you see above. The Roman Numeral MMXI is for the 2011. Below that write C for Caspar, then a plus sign (+) then 20 and another plus sign (+) then M for Melchior followed by another plus sign (+) then 11 and finally another plus sign (+) and B for Balthazar. For Traditional Catholics, the Feast of the Epiphany is also the day of gifts rather than Christmas day in emulating the three wisemen in exchanging gifts after twelve days of celebrating Christmastide. Today's Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, though not a holy day of obligation in the United States, is nevertheless a First Class Feast and there is no better way to celebrate this day than by assisting at Holy Mass. If you cannot do so, see Double of the First Class Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord

While the Twelve Days of Christmas are over, we remain in Christmastide as the season is a joyous one. Today is the First Friday of the New Year and the day after feasting and modest gift-giving, we turn back to the importance of fast and abstinence for only by spiritual exercise and self-sacrifice can we grow in strength in our spiritual life and build on the graces received in the holy Sacraments, specifically the Sacraments of Penance and the Holy Eucharist. The First Friday Devotions put us in that frame of mind, at least on Fridays in preparation for the Septuagesima and Lenten season ahead. Yet the mood remains festive for we are immediately Within the Octave of the Epiphany of Our Lord

Eight days into the New Year, we return to rejoicing in this time immediately following Epiphany. While the First Saturday of the month was observed on the Feast of the Circumcision, today we can also honor the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday with the liturgy of this Votive Mass or we can observe the joyous time of celebration Within the Octave of the Epiphany in anticipation of tomorrow's Mass of the Holy Family which begins the final week of White Vestments before we move into the Time after Epiphany and the traditional Green Vestments of the Season, still in Christmastide until the Feast of the Presentation and Purification of Mary. For now we remain Within the Octave of the Epiphany of Our Lord

While we will resume publishing on Sunday, January 9, here is a preview of what we will be celebrating. After all, it would not be right to honor Our Lord's Birth, Circumcision and the mission statement of the Epiphany that He had come for all men if we were not to take time to recognize the cooperation of the Immaculate Blessed Virgin Mary and her chaste spouse St. Joseph. With the Child Jesus, they are truly the Holy Family, one that every family should emulate in word, thought and deed. In a few days we will celebrate on the Octave Day of the Epiphany the Commemoration of the Baptism of Our Lord which signaled the beginnings of His public life. Yet the Holy Family represents His private life so perfectly and thus Holy Mother Church has set aside a special day to contemplate the perfect family. In today's world, society would not accept Their "old-fashioned" values, but if we don't accept and adopt them, then we could very well be swallowed up in the chasm satan is preparing for those he has seduced. One of the best barometers whenever one is doing anything is to ask oneself: Would the Holy Family approve? Would They watch that television program with you? Would They read that magazine or book or web page with you? Would They condone you where you go or what you are doing? If the answer is no, then think before you act. What better moral compass than Jesus, Mary and Joseph? Then let us joyfully celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family
