VerbumQUO's for the Second Week of Lent
The VerbumQUO for the Second Monday in Lent is moriemini, which is the Latin for "you shall die", taken from today's Gospel when we hear our Lord and Savior say to the multitude of Jews that they will die in their sins if they do not accept Him as the Messias. The same holds true today if we do not heed all that He commanded and taught (cf. Matthew 28: 20). Cain explains in Mortal Sin is the consummate Dead-End! Mortal Sin is the consummate Dead-End!
The VerbumQUO is thesaure which is the Latin for "treasure", taken from the Gospel for the Feast of Saints Perpetua and Felicitas who are treasured by Holy Mother Church with inclusion in the Canon of the Mass. Cain explains in The measure of your treasure The measure of your treasure
The VerbumQUO is sapientia which is the Latin for "wisdom", taken from the Introit, Epistle and Gradual for the Feast of the holy Doctor of the Church Saint Thomas Aquinas, the Angelic Doctor whose method of teaching has been adapted by Holy Mother Church in conveying the truths of Catholicism. Cain explains this wisdom in Call upon the "dumb ox" to defeat the devil and dumb luck! Call upon the "dumb ox" to defeat the devil and dumb luck!
The VerbumQUO is suffragia which is the Latin for "assistance" or "help", taken from the Postcommunion for the Feast of the holy confessor Saint John of God who dedicated his life to helping others including the child he carried - Jesus Himself. Cain explains why suffragia is so fitting for us on the feast of the founder of the Hospitaliers in Help Wanted! Inquire Within.

Living In Tradition Miters that Matter ![]() We continue to furnish this forum to publish responses by those "dirty dozen" attacked by the spurrious Southern Poverty Law Center and unjustly accused of the verbal engineered meaning of "anti-Semitism." His Excellency Bishop Mark A. Pivarunas, CMRI has filed his response in the latest issue of Adsum and we publish it here so all can see the absurdity of such charges and, in reading between the lines, see that this blatant attack is an all-out assault on the patrimonty of holy Mother Church and, in truth, identifies all the more clearly the demarcation line between the true Church founded by Christ and the false church forged by man from the hellish embers of Vatican II. His Excellency points out in his response the inherent persecution that can only intensify as the "hate crime" legislation becomes all the more liberalized by the very ones who harbor hatred for Christ and His few followers today. The CMRI Replies to the SPLC's Slander
Making Sense of sensus Catholicus ![]() Even though Father James Francis Wathen has left us, he has left us not only his words of wisdom in Making Sense of sensus Catholicus and magnificent and irrefutable opus The Great Sacrilege, he also gave several radio reflections. We are grateful to be able to bring you these pearls of wisdom, as we continue with his second installment as Fr. Wathen points out that in today's muddled, murky world of values and mores, the mind rakers will twist, fabricate, exaggerate, and deny the truth in order to carry out their agenda which is in direct opposition to both the natural order and to God's holy Will. Father Wathen lays out the five principles for assuring truth has a solid foundation in our lives so that the wind may blow and the rains come, but the fortress which is our soul will not be moved by folly or popular opinion but by the infrangible truths that never change. Truth Conquers All!
Hot Issues ![]() ![]() Another of the "dirty dozen" attacked by the SPLC was Christopher Ferrara for his association with The Remnant, Catholic Family News and Fr. Nicholas Gruner's Fatima organization. He posts on The Remnant site his retort as he urges all to unite against the Christophobia that is sweeping souls into the abyss. He writes, "All Catholics, whether or not they call themselves traditionalists, must return to Tradition without reserve if they would arm themselves against a world that is warring on the Church as never before." And he asserts that "the world's hatred is the sign of Catholic fidelity, and the world's approval the sign that a Catholic has lost his way." One wonders what will wake up the luke warm to the devastation of the concilariar church. Ferrara sounds the alarm on the radical inquisition of the liberals intent on destroying true Catholicism in his piece Christophobes at the Gates. Living In Tradition
We continue with the reflections by the wise and holy abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger on the Liturgical Time of the Penitential Season which began with the Time of Septuagesima leading up to the Time of Lent which begins this Ash Wednesday. Today we provide his reflections for Quinquagesima Week which leads into Ash Wednesday to the First Sunday of Lent. The whole purpose of this feature is to provide something special so readers can enhance their spiritual lives, appreciate the traditions passed down and apply the principles of what Abbe Gueranger left to posterity in his masterful volumes known as The Liturgical Year. Hopefully his words will spark a renewal of contrition and amendment to live as Catholics should in rejecting the world and its lures and striving for holiness. Few can explain so clearly the wisdom of holy Mother Church in laying out the liturgical Church year better than this man who could very well be a Doctor of the Church someday when the Authority of Peter is returned to Rome. His reflections will hopefully wake many to realizing the treasure of sacrifice, self-mortification and penance in building the spiritual muscle to bulk up the numbers in restoring holy Mother Church to her former glory. The Story of Quinquagesima
Gabriel's Clarion ![]() Just as Dr. Thomas Droleskey has documented in his piece "American Concentration Camps" below, so also Gabriel Garnica pinpoints the problem in the "Catholic" School system in America and it begins with those entrusted to impart Catholic truth and values on the students. That, sadly is the grave problem for those in charge today are Marxist modernists who ascribe to a different religion intent on destroying the Catholic Faith. Gabriel cites just one high school that proves this point and, when multiplied by the thousands, well you can see the devastation visited upon those "Catholic" families who have been so duped and dumbed down over the past 40 years. The results are only too evident. How many are aware of the insidious insurgency of religious teaching orders that have totally transmorphed the Catholic Faith into a political machine that is governed on the politics of the damned through the heresies ingrained in the leaders of tomorrow? Gabriel exposes one such school in Michigan run by the Sisters of Mercy who have no mercy when it comes to sparing souls as he points out in his column As Ash Wednesday Approaches, "Catholic" Education Itself Is In Ashes
Doctors of the Church ![]() ![]() Friday in Quinquagesima Week is the feast of the holy Bishop and esteemed Doctor of the Church Saint Peter Damian who lived during the reign of sixteen pontiffs - some antipopes, no less. He was the first Doctor in over three centuries - a time when the Church sank into laxity and corruption, especially in the disciplines for it is a known fact that simony was rampant. It was truly the "Dark Ages" and into this darkness God sent a guiding light to reform His Holy Church early in the second millennium. This holy monk counseled seven popes. St. Peter Damian was indeed the first Doctor to be made a cardinal and is forever known as the Light of the Dark Ages. Living In Tradition
We continue with the reflections by the wise and holy abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger on the Liturgical Time of Septuagesima and, this week, reflections on each day of the week for Sexagesima Week. Making Sense of sensus Catholicus ![]() Even though Father James Francis Wathen has left us, he has left us not only his words of wisdom in Making Sense of sensus Catholicus and magnificent and irrefutable opus The Great Sacrilege, he also gave several radio reflections. We are grateful to be able to bring you these pearls of wisdom, beginning with this first installment in which Fr. Wathen lays out the guidelines to establish communication. What Father Wathen asserts is evidence that dialoguing with heretics never works for humility is not present and surely the truth is not agreed upon. Those who realize the truth and are not willing to follow it to its logical conclusion are lying to themselves and others. Sadly, there are too many who don't want to know the truth for it would cause them to change their lives. The comfort zone of the vast majority is too comfortable for that and thus the consequences of that are only too evident to the devil. Father shares his words and a few prayers to open the avenues of communication toward accepting the only Truth possible. Truth and Consequences
Echoes of True Catholicism ![]() We wanted to alert you to a recent article by Dr. Marian Therese Horvat filed on Tradition In Action last week in which she highlights what every Catholic must realize and follow in spite of the abominable political correctness of the times, not to mention Vatican II. Just as there is nothing "gay" about sodomy, so also there is no loyalty to Christ and His teachings if one follows any sect which disagrees with one iota of His Truths. Such a group are the Protestants who mistakenly call themselves Christian. Marian points out why this is not only a misnomer, but a grave injustice to Heaven for a heretic or apostate cannot be a Christian, let alone a Catholic. In fact, she identifies a Christian Catholic as an oxymoron for it is redundant to call a Catholic a Christian. That is a given because every Christian, to be called such, must be a Catholic for it is the only true Faith/Religion of the New Covenant Jesus Christ established on earth when He gave the Keys of the Kingdom to St. Peter, promising He would be with His Church "until the consummation of the world." Marian explains in her treatise to her friend Jan aptly titled Please, Don't Call Protestants Christians

When it comes to all these ungodly laws being passed by liberal judges because of the lobbying and intimidation of a small minority out to do away with the natural and supernatural order, it is wise to keep in mind the following:
