Each Abortion is a Mini-Calvary

No matter how hard satan tries to persecute, and Christ has assured he would - for if they have persecuted Him, how much more His followers - and despite the senseless carnage and human sacrifice of the innocent, the devil will be defeated. We need only to persevere in doing all in our power to stop the prince of the world from deceiving more souls and destroying the innocent.

"The same idiots who do not want to see photos of aborted infants likewise were not too keen on seeing The Passion of The Christ. These hypocrites who cried out about how disturbing, graphic, and senseless the violence in that movie apparently have no problem inflicting that same kind of violence against the unborn! In both cases, they certainly do not want to see graphic proof of just how brutal their acts have been. At the root of all of this, of course, is the basic denial of human integrity. Christ became an object of blind hate and not a feeling Man. The unborn are depicted as blobs with no feelings despite all science to the contrary. If I stab a pillow nobody cares so I will call you a pillow before I stab you."

Throughout this "Woe is Roe Week", I have written about the idea that the devil detests innocence and is eternally trying to destroy it in one way or another. In fact, I pointed out that most if not all sin is actually the byproduct of such destruction of innocence. Once freed of original sin, each of us is a virgin to sin and any stain of the soul. This purity is progressively attacked, stained, and diluted with the passage of time and temptation. Since we are all human and weak, it is only a matter of time before we will fall to temptation and vice.

Salvation is not obtained by avoiding this reality, which is impossible for mere humans. It is obtained through having enough discomfort and disdain for sin and love, trust, and faith in God's love and mercy that we continually seek forgiveness and a fresh start.

Now the devil's greatest joy - though momentarily to be sure - came at Calvary when he seemingly destroyed Innocence at its highest level as epitomized by the Son of God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We all know that this apparent victory was turned into an utter, humiliating defeat as Our Lord turned the Cross of wood into a crossroads for humanity whereby we were given the path to salvation. Unable to kill Innocence on the cross, the devil has now turned his attention on killing innocence in the womb. If we think about it, each abortion is a mini-Calvary, complete with all the trimmings of The Passion.

Treacherous Betrayal

Just as Christ was betrayed by one he trusted and handed over to His enemies, so too the unborn child in abortion is betrayed by his own mother who should be the person he can trust the most. He is also betrayed by a medical system which is supposed to heal, protect, preserve, and save not destroy life. He is betrayed by a legal system that is supposed to recognize his humanity and right to life but instead denies it and protects his murderers instead. In both Calvary and abortion we find pure innocence betrayed by pure evil, pure selfishness and pure lies!

An Exchange of Coins

Just as Christ was handed over for coins, innocent unborn children are handed over for profit by the murderers at places such as Planned Parenthood. Now we even hear how there is a plan in Italy to pay women not to abort to stem the dangerous decrease in population growth. How far have we sunk when mothers have to be coaxed into not killing their own child? As I have always said….if abortions brought no profit to ghouls like Planned Murderhood, they would suddenly lose interest in the whole "right to choose" business.

A Sacrifice for Selfishness and Greed

Christ was killed because He got in the way of the lust for power, influence, and popularity of corrupt people. He stood up to and contradicted their selfish arrogance and absurd pride. He symbolized the end of their ego-centric intoxication with their own superficial whims and lifestyles, and they decided to rip Him out of the picture. Are not babies murdered because they get in the way of people's lust for the same things and preoccupation with themselves and their perceived happiness? Does not this lost society paint pregnancy, children, childbirth, and family as chains preventing ultimate success and fulfillment? There is an old saying that, over a lifetime, each child one raises is worth at least one house. Given this observation, this society is investing in the real estate of selfishness, greed, arrogance, and sin at the expense of location, location, location in Heaven! Both at Calvary and in the womb of abortion there is a determination that the beauty and blessing of innocent life is not worth the hassle of dealing with that innocent life.

Blindness to the True Meaning of the Cross

Even as they stood observing what they had done, the fools who crucified Our Lord could not see the importance of the sacrifice before them nor realize the ability of God to turn this apparent tragic end into a beautiful beginning. Most of them also did not even see the injustice they had inflicted, nor cared. Likewise, those who kill the unborn never see or never care to see the significance of what they are doing much less its injustice.

Their myopic morality cannot see beyond the nose on their own agenda and truth is merely a distant blur to ignore or rationalize away. Like a blind man denying an elephant before him these people go on seeing while blind and living while morally dead.

Rationalizations and Euphemisms

The people who murdered Christ used every sort of rationalization and sweet talk to paint their act as a noble, patriotic, necessary, even virtuous undertaking. They wailed passionately proclaiming their version of reality hoping enough people would believe their lies. They figured that if they shouted loud enough and repeated often enough; the drivel they spewed would somehow become reality and truth. They bend over sideways to depict and describe what they were doing in terms meant to cushion and market their evil. Is this not what the murderers of the unborn do? Do they not attempt to use words as smokescreens to pure evil? Do they not construct despicable strategies to convince people that abortion is acceptable as if they were selling cigarettes or the latest car?

Barbaric Torture and Denial of Human Integrity

The same idiots who do not want to see photos of aborted infants likewise were not too keen on seeing The Passion of The Christ. If I stab a pillow nobody cares so I will call you a pillow before I stab you.

Conclusion: Same Result

No matter what the devil does, he will ultimately lose to God Almighty. No matter how foul and vile his evil, it will eventually fail and be turned on its head into a glorious end by God. The blood of The Lamb washed away our sins and paved the path to our salvation if we choose to take that path. Likewise, the blood of these lambs will wash away the evil ones and pave the way to God's greater glory. Their death is detestable and tragic, but it will never be in vain for God will surely use it for ultimate good!
