Mel's Movie Reaches $212 million mark! Hollywood Amazed and Bewildered!
Passion's Passionate Returns Illustrate the Fever of Fervor!
See it and then let us know what you thought of the film and how it affected you. Share with our readers by writing My take on 'The Passion'

Mel's 'little movie' surpassing all expectations!

Critics cramming their mouths with crow!

Mel Gibson's masterpiece 'The Passion of The Christ' has his critics eating crow for his 'little film' has exceeded even the most optimistic early projections, grossing a stunning $212 million in twelve days. Only two other films ever brought in more in 11 days: the all-time leader Lord of the Rings - Return of the King and Spiderman. We all know Spidey didn't have the legs to keep going but King is still going strong. How about that two of the most Catholic movies hold the top spots in an anti-Catholic industry. Gotta love it! Newmarket, the only distributor who stepped forward when all the rest were blacklisting Mel, has soared from being a relatively unknown to second in distribution numbers, coming up only behind the giant Sony.* The mighty Sony better watch its back because Lent lasts another 28 days! How about this little "niche movie" that no distributor would touch because few thought it would ever break even!?! Ah, yes, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19: 25). Truly Our Lord is rewarding Mel for his work and rewarding souls for this film has caused EVERYONE to talk about Jesus Christ! Now the Vatican needs to come clean and hopefully this week will be another miracle and John Paul II will emerge from having the Holy Ghost touch his heart during his annual retreat. We can only pray for a miracle that he would wake up and return Holy Mother Church to the Truths and Traditions of St. Peter through Pope Pius XII. ABANDON THE ECUMENICAL PATH for the sake of souls! Mel's movie is bringing the whole question of ecumenism to the surface and it won't hold up against the infrangible Dogma Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus which every NO bishop is afraid to admit. Rid the Church of these charlatans! Mel's movie is a start!

TODAY'S PROPER OF THE HOLY MASS:

    Today is Double Feast of
Saint John of God,Confessor and Religious Founder
    Mass is the Missa
    "Os justi"

    Tomorrow is the Feast of
    Saint Frances of Rome, Widow

    White vestments

    Mass is the Missa
    "Cognovi, Domine"

NOTE: Because the 55th Reason is so important, we have decided to leave it on for another few days until Thursday so you still can share this truth with your pastor and pique his conscience to realize every priest has a "perpetual celebret" to say the Traditional Latin Mass, doing so without fear of their bishops or any other ecclesiastical thug! For any prelate to oppose this is to incur "the wrath of Almighty God and the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul." (Quo Primum)

WHY ONE CANNOT IN GOOD FAITH ATTEND THE NOVUS ORDO.

    REASON #55.
Because Pope St. Pius V granted a perpetual indult, valid "for always," to celebrate the Traditional Mass freely, licitly, without scruple of conscience, punishment, sentence or censure (Papal Bull "Quo Primum")
YES! St. Pius V set in stone the everlasting celebret - a perpetual indult. No Bishop, no priest and no Pope can override that. PERIOD! To do so is to go against the Holy Catholic Church! We all know the Pope and the Bishops have done just that by denying the Traditional Latin Mass except on their terms and only if one accepts the synthetic New Order liturgy which has so defiled the true meaning of the Holy Sacrifice. Yet the church of Vatican II, the ecumaniacal hierarchy, like all in the curia including the one who appoints them - the Pope himself - are afraid to 'go public' with this vital truth so the people will know. Instead Catholics are told that a Latin Mass can only be said with the permission of the Bishop (Fat chance!) or a celebret from the Ecclesia Dei Commission, which, in fact, is illegal and unnecessary because of the perpetual celebret issued by St. Pius V that every priest for all time must say the unchangeable Mass of All Ages in the Mother tongue of the Church. The truth is the Pope and Bishops fear that were this knowledge acknowledged, there would be rightfully so a mass exodus from the Novus Ordo, not only by the laity but many priests. We can only pray that this will become more manifest as discussion continues over Gibson's film and his own beliefs which embrace all that was taught before Vatican II. This very coverup of the True Mass was outlined quite clearly by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre (They Have Uncrowned Him and Open Letter to Confused Catholics), Atila Sinke Guimarães, (The Murky Waters of Vatican II, Animus Delendi I and II) Romano Amerio (Iota Unum), Fr. Ralph Wiltgen (The Rhine Flows into the Tiber) and Father James Wathen in his irrefutable masterpiece The Great Sacrilege. They all document that the Traditional Latin Mass alone provides the divinely ordained formula for true vertical worship of the Triune Divinity. Every Catholic has a moral obligation to abandon the new false religion and return to the True tenets and practices of the Church as practiced from St. Peter through Pope Pius XII. Cardinal Alfredo Ottaviani and Cardinal Antonio Bacci back on September 25, 1969 could see this all coming and warned of this in The Ottaviani Intervention As we know no Pope since Pius XII has listened to the wisdom of Holy Mother Church and for this stubborn, prideful promotion of the church of Vatican II have indeed "incurred the wrath of God and the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul." This is the fifty-fifth of 62 reasons submitted by the Priests of Campos on Easter Sunday 1982 and endorsed by the late great Bishop Antonio de Castro Mayer.
Conversely in the True Holy Mass of All Ages:

GRACES RECEIVED FROM ATTENDING THE TRUE MASS.
    GRACE #68.
One Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in thy lifetime will be of greater service to thee than many said for thee after death.
This is the sixty-eighth of at least 77 Graces derived from participation at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass - the Mass of All Ages - the Latin Mass of the Roman Rite which was decreed to be said "in perpetuity" by Pope Saint Pius V in codifying the infallible decrees of the dogmatic Council of Trent. These graces are taken from Father Martin von Cochem's Explanation of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with an imprimatur by New York's Archbishop Michael Augustin on June 24, 1818 during the Pontificate of Pope Pius VII

  • The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!

...And you thought the Awards were over with the Academy Awards last night! Oh no, we're just getting underway as we announce today Three Campaigns to publicly acknowledge the Good, the Bad, and the UGLIES! First, the Good:

The GOOD: The "Tower of Trent" Trophies!

Other than the coveted Walter L. Matt Memorial Lecture, there are no official recognitions that we know of. That is why we have created the "Tower of Trent" Trophies to present on the web to worthy recipients who have fought for the cause of preserving and upholding the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church. Though we are announcing this first in the order, it will be the last to be rewarded. Deadline for nominations and categories so that we might be able to acknowledge more worthy efforts will be Easter Monday, April 12th. That is the day after the Feast of Saint Leo the Great. The actual announcement of winners will be on the 87th Anniversary of Our Lady's First Apparition at Fatima and the Feast of that great Doctor of carrying out the Decrees of Trent, Saint Robert Bellarmine. You can send your nominations and ideas to Tower of Trent Nominations and Category Suggestions

The BAD: The IgNOMinious gNOMe Awards!
The Bad we can consider as the IgNOMinious gNOMe Awards, the first annual which will acknowledge any bad Catholic ecclesiastic in prayerful hope he'll wake up to his ecumania and repent. The nominees in this category are anyone who claims to be 'Catholic' whether they be clergy or laity for gNOMe is an acronym for goofiest New Order Moron of ecumania! Of course, the capitalization of the NOM stands for Novus Ordo Missae. Enough said. We should really have fun with this one so let your imaginations soar. Of course chief among this array are the bishops and cardinals and already we can think of a slew of them who will be ideal candidates for this ignominious award. You'll note on the logo a bishop depicted like the famous gnome who is going doddy-bonkers leaning to the left. You might call him the "Roamin' Roman GNOME" who has gone whoopsie-daisy with the Sacred Deposit of the Faith. Deadline for nominations is, what else, April Fools Day. The gNOMe winners, or in this case 'losers' will be announced on Wednesday, May 5th the Feast of the great and holy Pope who codified Trent Pope Saint Pius V. Since he is the one whom the bishops today have been disobeying so is it not appropriate they be exposed on his feast day? Again, in this category we are open to all kinds of ideas and you may submit any suggestions and nominees to gNOMe Nominations and Category Suggestions

      The Ugly: the UGLIES!
This final category is open to anyone. Basically UGLIES is an acronym for Unprincipled Garrulous Liberal Idiots Embracing Sin. So you can see this is your chance to vent and to nominate those who you'd like to see be given an UGLIES - which secular fool you thought was the most Unprincipled Garrulous Liberal Idiot Embracing Sin (UGLIES). The sky is the limit for those eligible from Andy Rooney to Gavin Newsom; from John Kerry to Frank Rich; from Janet Jackson to Rosie O'Donnell. Just a few suggestion of the many hundreds that will be submitted. The whole purpose of the UGLIES is to expose sin for what it is: UGLY, and to discredit those who tolerate it and seek to perpetuate tolerance by accepting what is unacceptable to God and therefore must be to us as well. Deadline for nominees and various categories will also be April 1st. However, the UGLIES will be the first to be exposed in all their hideousness on Sunday, May 2nd - the Feast of the Apostle of Tradition Saint Athanasius. Is that not appropriate? Let's expose these fools for what they are so that the sheep might be aware of those promoting the world, the flesh and the devil. Send your nominations and category suggestions to UGLIES Nominations and Category Suggestions

    Today:
    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica donned his barrister robes to sort out all the hubbub Mel Gibson's little movie must be stirring up. Gabriel's dusting off his briefs and preparing his schedule for the countless depositions that will need to be taken by various representatives from carpenters to pilots, Italians to Contractors, herpetologists to hypocrites all lining up to sue for surely they too have been offended by Mel's film. With tongue planted squarely in cheek, Gabriel has some fun at the expense of the whiners and moaners who have accused Gibson of anti-Semitism. Gabriel points out that it might just be the tip of the proverbial idiots'iceberg that is melting mighty fast from the heat of the public's overwhelming acceptance of 'The Passion of The Christ' in his column Lawsuits Pending!
    Vox Populi
We presented the third wave of testimonies from readers sent to us with seven more heartfelt affirmations of how it affected each person's heart. As we said in the teaser above, we've heard from most of the liberal 'Scribes and Pharisees' who are ruing the fact Mel's movie is headed for all-time records. Maybe they do need to add a little salt and pepper to their stewed crow. Now it's time to continue hearing from you. Thus we published more feedback from our readers on their take on 'The Passion of The Christ', including comments sent in by a reader from Paul Harvey in this feature we call the voice of the people, which, translated into Latin, is Vox Populi Part Two.
    Hope on the Horizon
Laura Ingraham, host of a nationally syndicated radio show and author of Shut up and Sing: How Elites from Hollywood, Politics, and the UN are Subverting America, weighs in with how deep Hollywood has dug themselves into the sand, burrowing in frustration over Mel Gibson's phenomenal success. While so many had it as their intention to expose and discredit Mel, they have only succeeded in exposing and discrediting themselves which says volumes as Laura points out in her Townhall column Hollywood Heads in the Sand

      Yesterday:
      "Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Second Sunday of Lent, he put to prose the poem of the Discipline of the Disciple as encouragement for all to stay the course and exercise with the disciplines of penance, prayer, fasting and almsgiving during this time set aside for spiritual aerobics so that our souls, encased in the protective shell of sanctifying grace may be ever more protected from the ravages of the world, the flesh and the devil. Father shared his sonnet towards sanctity on the same Sunday when we heard from the Almighty Father the assuring, affirming words recorded in Matthew 17: 5, which should refresh us all the more: "This is My beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased. Hear ye Him." Father painted the picture in his simple, but inspiring and absolute aria The Discipline of the Disciple
      Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi
In the first part of our new "Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi" series introduced this past Wednesday by Kevin M. Tierney and Jacob Michael, they brokedown the significance of the Propers of Ash Wednesday by comparing the Traditional Latin Propers that the Church, in her infinite wisdom, had set so rigidly in place and passed down through the ages, and the rite which shunned all that wisdom and set out on its own to redefine the Mass on a horizontal, humanistic plane. Kevin and Jacob showed the obvious omissions in the Novus Ordo and how the deliberate ambiguity contributes much to the loss of Faith and reverence, true Catholic commitment for how one prays is how one believes. They deciphered the words in explaining The Disciplines of Lent: Ash Wednesday
      Hope on the Horizon
Ann Coulter, a very agitating and necessary thorn in the side of liberals and progressivists, used her sharp wit and logic to expose the absurdity of the liberal pundits at The New York Times who represent the narrow, moronic thinking of those who can't think for themselves. This author of Treason and Dereliction of Duty: the Case Against Bill Clinton knows how the movers and shakers of the liberal regime reason and she takes great delight in lampooning their idiocy, especially as they fall all over themselves trying to find reasons to damn Mel Gibson's amazing film and equally astounding response by the public. She took target practice at these dunces in her most recent Townhall column The passion of the liberal

        Saturday:
        Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica clearly illustrated how the Beam of the Holy Cross has beamed in on very different eyes leaving no sliver of doubt as to the purpose of those who hate Christ and all He represents. Gabriel pointed out that each person visually sees through their eyes, but to really comprehend the will of God each of us needs to see through the eyes of our soul which mirrors God's Eye and His plan for each of us. The Eye of God is reflected in the Eye of the renowned Mother of Perpetual Help Icon, the very eye Mel Gibson chose as the symbol for his film company Icon Films. Yet, Gabriel revealed there are two other eyes who are trying to blind the public. Never mind that these two other "Eyes" have so many beams in their own corrupted corneas, to them it doesn't matter that they have been responsible for the damnation of so many pupils of pulp fiction. That is the way evil sees and conquers. But God knows all and sees all and that is the key as Gabriel explained in his column An Eye for all eyes
Shears and Tears of a Lamb
Catharine Lamb took a break from her series on the Saints of the Canon to rail against the spineless bishops who have remained virtually silent about the sinfulness of Senator John Kerry. This is a great scandal and those who slumber in sin are in for a rude awakening. Kerry is already on record as promoting sins that cry to Heaven for vengeance. Catharine emphasizes that just denying him Communion is nothing but a slight slap on the wrist. What they need to do for the sake of souls, especially their own, is play hardball with these politicians - especially Kerry. Just as Martha Stewart was convicted in order to send a message to all executives, so also Kerry needs to officially be convicted or his sins will be shared by those who are supposed to be the shepherds. The flock is scattering and they don't seem to care. They're not going to keep pulling the wool over the eyes of the sheep too much longer for the bellkeeper is mounting the tower and soon the bell will toll as Catharine warned in her column Wake Up! It's Mourning Time!
        Hope on the Horizon
Brent Bozell, President of Media Research Center, and a vigilant watchdog of print and broadcast media exposed the critics who are being swamped by a backlash of "we don't care what you think" public swarming to see 'The Passion'. He pointed out the absurdity of these critics who Brent caught in their own hypocrisy over past reviews of past violent films and the profane 'Last Temptation of Christ' flick. Critics may have loved it, but the public hated it and it bombed. Gotta love it! Brent asserted, that "Films like Gibson's 'Passion' remind us that film critics see themselves as far more than advice columnists. They view themselves as the (don't laugh) moral arbiters of the popular culture. But in the case of 'The Passion,' the harshest critics are dead wrong, and every day's tidal wave of tickets washes away their disbelieving, deconstructing attempts to ruin its powerful effect on American hearts and minds." Brent detailed in his Townhall column Flustered film critics and 'The Passion'

        Friday:
        Symphony of Suffering
Cyndi Cain, who has shied away from writing most of the time in order to be the prayer pillar of this publication, took some time to share with readers her special thoughts on 'The Passion of The Christ,' wherein she could relate with the sorrows the Blessed Mother was going through and understand the thoughts of Our Lady for she had long pondered them in her heart as St. Luke affirms. In truth, Mel Gibson's film was a 'Symphony of Suffering' that, orchestrated in the open hearts of countless souls, will strike the chord of grace and timbre forth conversion of hearts and lives in doing "whatever He tells you to do." Cyndi shared her thoughts and impressions of how it has reinforced her own redemptive suffering for souls. Yes, it is all worth it, she assured in A Mother's Passion
        "Quid dicit Scriptura?"
Friday we brought you the eagerly anticipated second installment by Jacob Michael on the Mother of God's specific mission as Mediatrix of all graces and the Wedding Feast at Cana, where he clearly showed through both the Old and New Testament, the intrinsic link between Mother and Son in Redemption. The water turned into wine and the water and wine confected into the Body and Blood of Christ, Soul and Divinity, is a fulfillment of the Old Covenant and an everlasting testament to Christ's Passion and Death carried out forever in the New Covenant through re-enactment of that same Sacrifice in an unbloody manner at every Traditional Latin Mass. Jacob showed how both holy Evangelists John and Luke made the connection of Cana to Calvary so clear in his second part of his series The Mediatrix at the Wedding in Cana
        Hope on the Horizon
We introduced on Friday a new feature that we will bring you as often as possible and that is linking you to outstanding columns by conservative columnists in the secular sector when their words mirror Traditional Catholic values. Such was the case Friday as we brought you an article by national syndicated columnist David Limbaugh, author of "Persecution. How Liberals Are Waging War Against Christianity" who shared the wisdom of the most esteemed Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen that "Every other person who ever came into this world came into it to live. (Christ) came into it to die ... the Cross was there from the beginning, and it cast its shadow backward to His birth." Limbaugh pointed out it is not about who killed Christ, it is about what we will do with this short life we have in order to live with Him forever. "The Passion," Part III

        Thursday:
        Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica sounded the clarion loud and clear as to the incomparable excellence of 'The Passion of The Christ'. It is not a movie, it is an experience, a meditation that engulfs you in love and mercy. Those who know and love Christ do not see the blood, they see the redemptive love. They do not see the hate of the Sanhedrin or the mobs, they see the love of forgiveness from the Cross. They do not see the grime and dirt, but the fertile soil of Faith. In sharing two unforgettable scenes, Gabriel pointed to a brief flashback scene in the tranquil home of Nazareth where Jesus is fashioning a wooden table. The height puzzles Our Lady and Our Lord points and demonstrates how it will work with an imaginary chair. Our Lady mimics Him in such motherly love and sport, quipping "It will never catch on." It was a lighter moment that said volumes about the Light of the world and the Mother who ignited that Eternal Flame through her total fiat. What else could this film then be, but A Masterpiece!
        A Chronicle of Catholic Tradition
The ninth chapter of our series on the history of Holy Mother Church and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass dealt with the eleven holy pontiffs who guided Holy Mother Church through the Second Century, a century known for the Christian Apologists, those learned men who staunchly defended the faith in their writings and preachings, refuting the unfounded calumnies uttered by the pagans and atheists against the persecuted Church and her members. Most notably were two giants among them: Saint Polycarp and Saint Irenaeus. Mounting persecutions claimed the lives of countless martyrs at the hands of Roman Emperors Trajan, Hadrian, Marcus Aurelius, and Septimus Severus, but the blood of these martyrs sowed the seeds of Christianity as the Church spread the Doctrine of the Living God and the Holy Sacrifice of the New Jerusalem to Asia, Africa, Spain, France, the Rhine Countries and Britain, not to mention gaining a strong foothold in the seat of the Church - Italy, and more specifically - Rome where the Popes dug in for the long haul, fueled by the Sanctifier's flame. Holiness filters down from the Holy Successors of Peter

        Wednesday:
        Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi
The Daily Catholic was delighted to introduce yet another bright young and zealous Traditional luminary in Wednesday's issue with the debut of Kevin M. Tierney, an associate of contributing author Jacob Michael, in a series simply called "Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi" which, of course, translated means roughly how one prays is how one believes. As you can see the differences between the two liturgies are as clear as black and white. One, the Latin Mass is full and reverent, the Novus Ordo sterile and bland. It needs innovation and novelty to spice things up. The Latin Mass merely depends on the Divine. This series will compare the Propers of the synthetic Novus Ordo with the absolute Propers of the Traditional Latin Mass to show all that the NOM comes up far, far inferior, if not worse. Many might place the blame on the venom of the vernacular, but we all know what vipers injected this poison. It must be sucked out and spit out forever. Hopefully this series will give readers motivation to expedite that process in the counter-revolution dedicated to taking back the Mystical Body of Christ for Christ! INTRODUCTION - Some Initial Objections
        On the BattleLine
In his latest 'Bird's Eye View of the News' Atila Sinke Guimarães burrowed beneath the rhetoric to show readers the real agenda whether it is to expose the milquetoast approach by the Cardinal of Chicago Francis George in dismissing valid criticism of the Church's handling of the scandal of clergy abuse and covering it up, or the cavalier attitude of Cardinal Ratzinger in his subterfuge ways of changing the face of the Church, an agenda fostered by the progressivist theologian Cardinal Yves Congar, or the spineless surrender by Cardinal Murphy O'Connor that Britain may very well be without priests in less than fifteen years. Ah c'est la vie, c'est la guerre. And it is la guerre - war that we must wage in stopping the madness by exposing these charlatans on the battleline and their insipid curriculum of chaos within the Church. Atila documented this in his column From a Shout to a Whisper - Changing the Face of the Church
        Vox Populi
We presented the second wave of testimonies from readers sent to us with seven more heartfelt affirmations of how it affected each person's heart. As we said in prior issues, we've heard from most of the liberal 'Scribes and Pharisees' who are ruing the fact Mel's movie brought in the largest returns ever for an independent film. Maybe they need to add a little salt and pepper to their stewed crow. Now it's time to continue hearing from you. Thus we published more feedback from our readers on their take on 'The Passion of The Christ', including comments from Fr. James Wathen, Gary Morella and Michael H. Pierce in a feature we call the voice of the people, which, translated into Latin, is Vox Populi Part Two.

        Tuesday:
        Catholic PewPOINT
With the phenomenal success of Mel Gibson's masterpiece 'The Passion of The Christ' editor Michael Cain invoked Mel to consider what the next step could effect. He invited Mel to invest in the greatest and most valuable stock there is: Traditional Catholics and help put flesh on the bones of truth. That flesh is the undeniable truths of the True Catholic Church, a far different cry to what is being passed off as Catholic today. Mel's movie is separating the wheat from the chaff and now hopefully he'll have the opportunity to give back by reinforcing the flanks with five possibilities that Cain posed on behalf of the Traditional movement in order to bring back a wider availability of the Traditional Latin Mass which re-enacts the Passion in an unbloody manner daily in the True Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. He delineated in his Open Letter to Mel Gibson titled Turn the mirage into a Miracle!
        Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica sounded the clarion loud and clear. Listen to your heart and act as a responsible parent when it comes to deciding if your child should see 'The Passion of The Christ' Gabriel is sick and tired of others offering their advice to parents for free (that's about all it's worth) and the covey of psychologists who have been consulted as "experts." Gabriel's advice was leave it in the parents' hands and to flee from Freud and fly to your Faith, get off the couch and come see Christ for the Crucifixion is not an event for the timid but an experience that showed the depths of His love for us. Gabriel gives some very succinct reasoning, asking if this movie is so violent, why did Our Lady show the children at Fatima a glimpse of hell? Talk about violence there could be nothing more violent or scary than that. Gabriel showed the hypocrisy of those who would scare children away. The truth is they're afraid to go, not because of the violence, but because they don't want to admit the violence going on within their own souls. Gabriel explained in his column Children and The Passion
        Vox Populi
We've heard from all the so-called experts from Andy Rooney to Frank Rich, from Abe Foxman to the New York Times and Newsweek and all the other liberal 'Scribes and Pharisees' who don't want Mel's film to succeed. They've got to be grinding their teeth today. Alleluia! Now it's time to hear from you. Beginning Tuesday we started publishing feedback from our readers on their take on 'The Passion of The Christ' in a feature we call the voice of the people, which, translated into Latin, is Vox Populi Part One.

        Monday:
        FAITH ON FILM
With all the celebrating that went on at the Academy Awards, one wonders if the Academy truly realized what a Catholic film they honored in lauding the Oscars to 'The Lord of the Rings - Return of the King' Sunday night. We would expect they didn't or else they would have retracted their vote considering the vitriolity against Mel Gibson and his totally faith-filled and faithful film 'The Passion of The Christ'. Father Angelo Van Der Putten weighed in with a very insightful analogy of just how Catholic J.R.R. Tolkien was and how he conveyed that Faith through the characters he created. This was a follow-up to our two pieces done in January and the day after 'The Lord of The Rings' swept all the prizes was the perfect time to share with you Father's insights in A Catholic 'Ring'er to the Core of Middle Earth!
        "Father, forgive them..."
Doug Giles provided a witty piece on what is behind all the vicious attacks against Mel Gibson from the Scribes and Pharisees of the liberal elites. It has nothing to do with anti-Semitism, nothing to do with too much violence, but everything to do with upsetting their apple cart and their amoral comfort zone where anything goes as long as they set the rules which are obviously biased against any chance of winning back America for Christ. No wonder they're so furious with Mel. One within the establishment has dared the impossible - and succeeded! Truly, "Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do" or do they!? Doug nailed it in his column The Passion Police
        Christ or chaos
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey pointed out that The Bennett Report should be the straw to break the cantankerous camel's back and wake the populace to the fact that they are being led to the slaughter by wolves in shepherds' clothing. The Bennett Report is so called since the chair of the committee on ferreting out the sordid details of the child abuse (read sodomy) by the clergy was attorney Robert Bennett who inherited the position when former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating resigned, calling the bishops an organized crime syndicate. The shocking figures revealed in the report bear that out. Tom deduced that the only hope of regaining trust and righting the spiritual ship is to return to Tradition. It's the only safe port as he asserted in his column Nothing Should Ever Shake Our Faith

        SUNDAY:
        "Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the First Sunday of Lent, he illustrated how Jesus set the example for all of us in fulfilling the Scriptures, and fending off the temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil, especially the devil. The gospel dwells on the temptation of Christ in the desert by the evil one. Just as Mel Gibson so masterfully depicted evil as the androgynous being that takes many forms, so also we must be aware of how we can detect this evil entity before it strikes, weakening us. Humble prayer and penance are a great potion, and truly knowing our Faith is vital for our very spiritual survival because there are Scribes and Pharisees in today's church of Vatican II who deny Christ and His Word, caving to the wiles of the devil, taking many with them. We must heed St. Paul's counsel that when all else fails, hold fast to Tradition. That is the wisdom of nearly 2000 years of Church teaching. We would be wise to follow it during this parched time of The Church's Temptation in the Desert
        "Quid dicit Scriptura?"
Though many are eagerly anticipating the second installment by Jacob Michael on the Mother of God's specific mission as Mediatrix of all graces and the Wedding Feast at Cana, he delayed that just momentarily so that he could address something most important, especially for the First Sunday of Lent. He answered many who have written him about the whole rationale for Lent. Is it really necessary they asked Unequivocally he answered with an emphatic 'YES!' and proceeded to show how Christ Himself righted that which went unfulfilled in the Old Covenant in His purpose for establishing the New and Everlasting Covenant. As St. Paul counsels in "putting on the armor of God," to prepare by "having thy feet shod with the readiness of the Gospel of Peace." To better describe what Lent is all about, he titled his column Sackcloth, Ashes and the Sandles of Readiness

        Saturday:
        Gabriel's Clarion
In his continuing marathon of articles on 'The Passion of The Christ', Gabriel Garnica cited a specific film defending a guilty Jewish family which is up for an Oscar that is - surprise, surprise - heartily endorsed by the very ones who are the most vicious attackers of Mel. The hypocrisy is so obvious that it oozes onto the ogres of Hollywood and the celluloid critics and critters of the filfth industry. Gabriel showed how their integrity has totally been compromised while Mel's integrity will stand for the test of time as he explained in Can You Say Double Standard?
Shears and Tears of a Lamb
Catharine Lamb resumed her feature on the Canon of the Mass and those who are honored. She began the saints invoked in the Nobis quoque peccatoribus after the Consecration. These saints have been abandoned by the New Order for the very words "To us also, Thy sinful servants," which are the only audible words spoken in the Canon of the Mass per the rubrics and celebret set in stone by Trent and Pope Saint Pius V, have been eliminated just as the idea of being a sinner has been downplayed so that all will feel better about themselves. Catharine has a shock for those who have bought into this 'all is love' hype: they're in for a shock when they stand before their Maker at their Particular Judgment. The first two forgotten saints who are so vital in emulating their holy actions are St. John the Baptist and St. Stephen, the Precursor and the First Martyr of the Church respectively. Catharine explained in Part One of Saints forever canonized in the Canon of the Mass - Abandoned Saints to sustain Thy Sinful Servants

        Friday:
        Catholic PewPOINT
While editor Michael Cain is no Roger Ebert or Michael Medved, he does know truth when he sees it and Friday he weighed in with a heartfelt review of Mel Gibson's masterpiece 'The Passion of The Christ' as to how profound an experience this was. It was all he expected and more, so much more. Yes, it was violent, but could the Scourging at the pillar, the Crowning of thorns, the Way of the Cross and the Crucifixion be anything less? Any hints of anti-Semitism fade into oblivion unless one is a hardened anti-Semite or is looking to create a crisis where there isn't any. If anything, this film clearly is anti-Vatican Two and anti-Secularist! Hip, Hip, Hooray! Cain rails at the New York Times for seeking to damage Gibson and his film by slandering it as "an assault on the spirit." Cain picked up on that theme as the title for his editorial The Salt of The Spirit!
        Gabriel's Clarion
In his continuing marathon of articles on 'The Passion of The Christ', Gabriel Garnica had to chuckle at how the elitist media and self-serving Zionists who tried to foist an anti-Semitic label on the movie to keep movie-goers away. Isn't it ironic that those rants have only fueled a box office bonanza that could make it a runaway hit. Despite the attempts to blacklist Mel Gibson, the talented genius director, in the true Christian sense of loving one's enemies, should send the same ol' idiots Abe Foxman, Marvin Hier, Frank Rich, Andy Rooney and company a thank you note as he laughs all the way to the bank while winning over souls. Gabriel appropriately titled his column Isn't it ironic?

        Thursday:
        Gabriel's Clarion
In his continuing marathon of articles on the opening of 'The Passion of The Christ', Gabriel Garnica had hoped to take a day off so he could see the film, get in some needed prayer for Ash Wednesday and basically get a breather, but that was pretty difficult to do when there are so many idiots out and about and Mel's movie has brought out the best, or should we say the worst in idiots of every stripe. Gabriel didn't think it could get much worse than Andy Rooney's anal mumblings, but then he picked up the latest issue of Newsweek and clicked on the local telly. Katie bar the door. Gabriel explained in his column The Morons Do Not Fall Far From The Idiots
        Mass Confusion
Our latest copy of The Remnant came this week and I was delighted to discover that Michael Matt's excellent essay on Janet Jackson's Super Bowl Stunt was available to link to on The Remnant site because this is a piece every parent and grandparent needs to read, every teenager needs to understand and be forewarned, every priest needs to realize for the pop culture has so engulfed the morals of today's youth that it threatens even Traditional families who have been sheltered from most of the rot. Matt, author of the acclaimed book "Gods of Wasteland" - which this editor heartily encourages should be in every home to better understand how this danger penetrates every facet of life - pulled no punches in exposing the cesspool of 'entertainment' in today's society. Satan is so clever and he has woven so craftily the whole hip-hop culture into advertising and everyday life in an anti-authority in-your-face attitude that further erodes the family structure and any attempts toward sanctity. In three words: Hip-Hop Hell that never stops gyrating, blurring values and grating in the ears and souls of those who give in to the sirens of sin. Matt nailed it in Janet Jackson's Super Bowl Stunt: Do We Still Need to "Lighten Up"?
        A Chronicle of Catholic Tradition
In the eighth chapter of our series on the history of Holy Mother Church and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, we entered into the second century and left the principals until next week to go into the 'parishes' so to speak and how the faithful began to live the Faith they had been taught, picking up the customs and establishing Traditions handed down from the Apostles and their disciples as bishops multiplied and, enriched with the Didache, began to understand the true essence of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as it took form with more rituals and meaning for the faithful. Even in the early years schism had already raised its ugly head, and through trial and error the truth emerged in the stationary rubrics of the Mass so there would be no abuse of the Holy Sacrifice, something sorely missing in the New Order today. Tradition Takes Shape

        Ash Wednesday:
        The Sanity of Sanctity
Father Lawrence Smith shared with our readers his inspiring words for Ash Wednesday in which he provided a meditative symphony of Christ's life and how Lent provides the link between His birth and His Passion, Death and Resurrection. Father emphasized that Our Lord came for the sinner and that each and everyone of us needs to avail ourselves of the Sacrament of Penance in order to gain the graces available during this holiest of seasons which we should embrace with joy in better assimilating with Christ why He did what He did. This and seeing 'The Passion of The Christ' should afford ample opportunity for vivid meditation on improving our lives. The Power and Purpose of the Cross
        HOT ISSUES
Gabriel Garnica was righteously indignant. So much so that he was given our HOT ISSUES forum to deliver a witty commentary on the blasphemous actions of Andy Rooney on 60 Minutes Sunday night. Gabriel illustrated so well how Rooney is a has-been elitist who must go. He did so by doing a parody of Rooney's own inimitable and grating style. 60 Minutes needs a new ending because, as every viewer of quality hopes and prays, this will be the end of Andy Rooney. He needs to be benched and Gabriel designated why in his clever way with his editorial piece Out of the Mouths of Idiots
        "Quid dicit Scriptura?"
Jacob Michael took a respite from his series on the Mother of God's specific mission as Mediatrix of all graces to provide a special column in follow-up to our editorial Tuesday in defending the First Dogma of the Church. His is much more succinct and extends to Old Testament passages as well as expanding New Testament passages and including early Fathers, Doctors and Popes of the Church to verify the infallibility of the Dogma of 'Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus' in his column Outside the Church, there is No Salvation

        Tuesday:
        Catholic PewPOINT
Editor Michael Cain usually does not get into apologetics, but this time he had no choice in charitably taking to task internationally-known Protestant evangelist Bill Keller for his claim that Mel Gibson's theology is in error about no salvation outside the Church. Every Traditional Catholic realizes that is the opening we are looking for to proudly proclaim the infallible, ineffable dogma Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus. Cain took that opportunity to refute fully the false Protestant beliefs. And speaking of openings, we couldn't have asked for a better one than handed to us by Rabbi Marvin Hier, a bitter opponent of Mel and his movie who said on national TV: "The film takes us away from Vatican II." That has to be music to every Traditional Catholic's ears for maybe now Protestants and Neo-Catholics will realize the infrangible truths of Catholicism which, in truth, have not changed in 2000 years. Wake up and smell the roses of Truth and Tradition! In syllogistic form, Cain disected the Protestant arguments in his editorial titled "The Film takes us away from Vatican II." Deo Gratias!
        Gabriel's Clarion
In his continuing marathon of articles leading to the opening of 'The Passion of The Christ' tomorrow, Gabriel Garnica, showed that when the dust settles as it inevitably will, the mighty mastidon of truth will trumpet over all. So also will Mel Gibson's masterpiece stand as an achievement of amazing fruits while the fruit-flies that buzz about him now with the stings and peskiness of charges of 'too violent' and 'anti-Semitic' will be swatted into oblivion as so much waste just as the art exhibit of elephant dung has passed into obscurity but Our Lady lives on as a bright light which Mel has portrayed in his brilliant casting of Mary. Gabriel pointed out that Mel's work translates across time in his column Like Flies on An Elephant
