Doctors of the Church
The twenty-third Doctor in this chronological series on the Doctors of the Church was a man full of "good fortune" from his earliest years. Humility was his virtue; his role model - the holy founder who named him. He followed this man, continuing the ideals of the Franciscans, guiding them during turbulent times when growing pains created problems in the ranks and with various ecclesial authorities opposed to the Friars Minor. This Universal Doctor was one of the first saintly Cardinals of the Church. He was close friends with "The Angelic Doctor" and the saintly king of France. He was the architect of the 2nd Council of Lyons and, fittingly, was called home by God immediately following completion of the Council. His work done on earth but continued through his writings and example; so much so that he is known as "The Seraphic Doctor." He was Saint Bonaventure.
Pro Life Prescriptions
Dr. Frank Joseph, a Catholic physician and long one of the leading crusaders for the Sanctity of Life, explains what these so-called "spontaneous" protests around the country really are and why. Most of the demonstrators are nothing more than robotic Democrats with sour grapes on their forked tongues because their man didn't become president. The manner in which they are giving aid to Saddam treds on treason. They are also being treasonous to God by their double standard for the vast majority of anti-war protesters are pro-aborts who didn't raise a finger when Clinton bombed Kosovo and Iraq. Dr. Frank also shares a first person insight from inside Iraq in his column The Real Reason Why They Protest the War!
Catholic PewPOINT
While many might think Michael Cain's editorial this week deals with basketball and "March Madness," but the skirmish is not on the court. Rather on the battleground of souls where all the forces of hell wage battle for the souls of the just and unjust. While we rejoice at one soul saved, the fact so many are not should give all pause to reflect and pray and resolve to do their part as loyal members of the Church Militant in a time when so many have abandoned the ranks or weakened their flanks, allowing entrance to the enemy of the Triune Divinity. Cain explains the "Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" of it all in his editorial The March Madness of April's Fools!.
"Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Laetare Sunday, he points out the reason for rejoicing: God! Without Him, we would not exist. Without Him we would never have the opportunity to be with Him forever in eternal paradise. In the Gospel for Laetare Sunday we catch a glimpse of this happiness in the miracle of the loaves and fishes in which, despite the physical scarcity, everyone was satisfied. So also we gain sustenance through knowledge of God in His Word, the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church, and the Sacraments. Through these we offer our own sufferings at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in order that we might turn vice into virtue. God gives and we give back. It's a win-win situation that, because of man's fallen nature, seems to escape so many and that is why there is so much turmoil and war today. Just as Christ fled into the mountains to avoid the pressure of man's will, so also we must flee from those who seek or promote an earthly kingdom of temporal treasures and fleeting pleasures. Father explains in "To know Him, to love Him, to serve Him"
Catholicism and the State
In the first installment of this series, Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey lays out the various concepts of states which have cropped up over the centuries to erode the true concept of the Christian State. There is much confusion about separation of Church and State and that has contributed to dismissing into oblivion the necessity for the Social Kingship of Christ. Tom identifies and defines three of these states in Part One The Pagan, Liberal and Socialist State
Christ or chaos
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey points out the persecution of one group - the SSPX - who are in no way in schism yet intimidated fiercely and another group who are in definite schism and heresy, yet are treated with kid gloves, undermining the valiant efforts of the great late Cardinal Kung who fought to keep the True Underground Church alive in China against the false Chinese Patriotic Church. Tom has questions that must be answered by Rome and by those supporting postconciliar policies. Tom explains in There is Schism and there is Schism
The Germs of G.I.R.M. In this issue we bring you part sixty-five of Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey's well-received, thought-provoking series on G.I.R.M. warfare as he continues analyzing and commenting on the ambiguity and errors in the General Instruction of the Roman Missal Tom focuses on paragraphs 220 through 244 which continue to treat the whole issue of concelebration which in the Novus Ordo has taken away the true meaning and role of the "alter Christus" and replaced it with "altar Christi in the move to concelebration where the line is blurred so much that Joe and Sally church goers think they're concelebrating as well. In the innovative novelty world of the Novus Ordo there is ConCelebration Confusion

FOCUS
Gary L. Morella, one of the most astute of Roman Catholic watchdogs in exposing the rot within the postconciliar church takes on one of the larger neo-Catholic organs - the National Catholic Register, specifically a commentary written by a J.P. Zmirak. Gary points out that Zmirak is confusing the role of Church and State. While Bush is deserving of criticism, what about John Paul II? Gary asks about the destruction of countless souls through a deconstruction of the faith by the very men this Pope appointed and his geo-political humanistic pandering to man, rather than to work toward establishing the Social Kingship of Christ. See Patriotism, Papolotry and Passivism toward Perdition
On the BattleLine
Atila Sinke Guimarães calls into question why John Paul II's "poetry" is getting such rave reviews for, when one peals off the layers, his preoccupation with nudity and evolution is troubling to say the least and the problem is that most neo-Catholics will take whatever he writes, including his Roman Triptych as gospel and be influenced thus into further diluting the One True Faith through this dumbing-down process in which they are subjected as Atila points out in his column Papal Poetry
"Feed My sheep"
With Bush's war underway, Doctrina reveals prophets of the near past who could see what we have become as a civilization. We still have a free will, but our choices must be narrowed to only one direction: the narrow way; for that is the only way to save the soul. Those who fear for their physical and material welfare will feel the brunt of God's wrath. To those who fear for their soul, there is still time to make amends, but not much time for we know not the day nor the hour even though there has been a plethora of signs that we are in the End Times as explained in So You Don't Believe We're On The Eve of Destruction?
Traditional Insights Mario Derksen continues his multi-part series on the controversy that surrounds "the illicit Episcopal Ordinations of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre." He responds to four more objections. Fourthly, he points out that a person must be guilty of a charged offense with unmitigated proof; Fifthly, Mario emphasizes that one cannot change the rules (Canon Law) in mid-stream; Sixthly, Mario explains that just because the Pope says there is "no state of necessity" does not mean there isn't. seventh objection Mario replies to those who give the Pope more power and authority than he rightly deserves for he is infallible only when speaking ex cathedra which, coincidentally over the past 40 years is, for all purposes: nada. Mario lays out the logic that refutes neo-Catholic claims in part seven of his series with the second of Objections and Replies: True Papal Authority and the Necessity of Keeping the Faith Alive.
Shears and Tears of a Lamb With the Ides of March having just passed, Catharine Lamb responds to the vitriol that has erupted against Mel Gibson and his dad Hutton, both strong Traditional Catholics. She engages one reporter in particular with a firm "Et tu, Touché
" in answering the writer's titled question "Does Mel Gibson have a Jewish Problem?" with "Does Bill Berkowitz have a Catholic Problem?" Catherine exposes the underbelly of the writer's intent with her column Provoking passions over "The Passion".
Appreciating the Precious Gift of our Faith
We continue with our catechesis series from My Catholic Faith, focusing on the seven little ways towards spiritual perfection which everyone can do - no exceptions. This is especially pertinent during this holy season of Lent and we'd all be wise to learn from the youngest and most recent Doctor of the Church St. Therese of the Child Jesus by doing the ordinary in an extraordinary way and always with Love. See the 285th installment: General Means of Perfection.
White Smoke, Black Fire! In the third episode of Chapter Ten of The Shrouding, the Legion of the Basilisk and the traitorous Camerlengo are furious over the foiled scheme of finding where the heroic Riage Benziger had hid the Pope. The traitor Fr. Urazzi discovered where, but did not live to betray the Holy Father for the resisters had arrived just in time. Now the search intensifies. Who will find the Pope first? The tension builds in Part IV, Chapter Ten, Episode Three. For all episodes from The Unleashing, The Smoldering, and The Shadowing up to the current episode in The Shrouding, see All Episodes thus far of "White Smoke, Black Fire!"
Exspectans exspectavimus Ecclesia Dei Bishop Richard Williamson responds to those who smugly think two plus two don't have to add up to four anymore. The sum of the whole does not add up, leaving holes in not just some key truths. However if any truth is compromised, the entire equation is convoluted. His Excellency provides a parable of the "Delegation" trying to force "Back Ward" to accept the New Math. Of course he can't, just as any faithful Catholic cannot accept the Newisms of Vatican II as the Bishop points out in his letter Nice Rome Not Enough.
Echoes of True Catholicism
Dr. Marian Therese Horvat shares some uplifting accounts of the saints on the power of prayer and the virtue of perseverance, manifested in one whom Marian has been corresponding with. She outlines the five points that pinpoint perseverance of prayer and the infallibility of Christ's words, "Ask and you shall receive" She urges all to turn to Our Lady of Good Success for - what else - success. Marian points out how much more will He open the door for us when we ask for great and noble things like the souls in Purgatory and the liberty and exaltation of Holy Mother Church in these times of abandonment of the True Faith in her article A Lesson in Perseverance in Prayer
Father forgive them..."
Mark Fellows reveals the underbelly of the Arlington Diocese to show that the problem not only lies with the top shepherd who refused to recognize the undeniable, documented truth provided by Father James Haley, a priest trying to be what he was called to do: be a priest. The cover-up by Bishop Paul Loverde is not an isolated case but symptomatic of practically every diocese in the United States; more proof of bad seed stifling the wheat as Mark documents in The Outsider
The Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart
We continue the excellent work by Father Joseph McDonnell, S.J.. Catholic Family News has given us permission to reprint following their publishing of it. It is a beautiful meditation and commentary that should encourage more devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as we continue with Part Eighteen and the Eleventh Promise - "Those who propagate this Devotion shall have their name written in My Heart, and it Shall never be effaced" in The Eleventh Promise - part one.
