  • Many are struggling with the question, I want to do God's Will but who do I vote for? See CATHOLIC PewPOINT
In their journey toward Heaven, all Catholics must take great care not to think they can get there by disobeying Christ's One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Dominus Jesus reaffirms this. One can leave the Church through either the left or right doors. Satan lays out the red carpet and so many are suckered by the path they think in their own mind is the correct one until it's too late!
Disobedient
Left
Those who refuse to obey the Church are often radical, modernists on the left
We enter through Baptism and stay in the Church by being obedient to all she teaches
We must work together toward the center to enter and stay in the Church and God's good graces.
But there are those too far to the right such as SPXX who can be disobedient as well Disobedient
Right
In this issue Pat Ludwa turns his attention toward the right, the ultra conservative side of the Church which, as he points out, can be just as disobedient if they fail to heed and recognize the Holy See. As often as he has raised the caution flag about the liberal left, he likewise today warns all to be very, very careful in being trapped into thinking those who profess "sedavacantism" are being obedient. They are not for, in effect, they refuse to obey - refuse to serve ('non serviam'). Many on the right use as their rationalization the abuses wrought from Vatican II to declare not only the Second Vatican Council illegal but those who served on the throne of Peter as illegitimate. They claim from Blessed Pope John XXIII on that the true papacy has been vacant, including our present Holy Father Pope John Paul II. This is interesting considering the Pope has done all he can to accommodate those wishing to celebrate the Mass from the Council of Trent. One of the main problems have been the bishops who, despite the Holy Father's directives in Ecclesia Dei, refuse to budge while allowing terrible abuses by the left. Nevertheless, even though there is a need to provide the Tridentine Mass to so many who were weaned on it, disobedience to the Church is never right as Christ asserted in Matthew 16: 19-20. Therefore, even on the right one can leave the Church and many in the Society of St. Piux X have by their blatant refusal to recognize the present Sovereign Pontiff as the legitimate and rightful Vicar of Christ. Taken from the Gospel for Monday's Mass

"Hypocrites! does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or ass from the manger, and lead it forth to water? And this woman, daughter of Abraham as she is, whom satan has bound, lo, for eighteen years, ought not she to be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?"

    Luke 13: 15-16

Events that happened Today in Church History

Pope Clement IVPope Blessed Gregory XFinal Crusade launched on this date    Today is the 730th anniversary of the launch of the Eighth and Final Crusade. It had been planned by Pope Clement IV who reigned from February 15, 1265 until November 29, 1268. After his death there was vast disagreements among members of the Conclave at Viterbo where Clement had died and therefore there was a three year vacancy of the Papacy. Nevertheless, those in charge of the Crusade went forward with the planned launch on this date. The Crusade, like many others proved a failure and after the election of Blessed Pope Gregory X on March 27, 1272 fervor for the crusades waned greatly and they were discontinued after the 14th Ecumenical Council which Gregory convened in Lyons in 1274. Famous quotes of Bishop Fulton J. SheenPride is the child of ignorance

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"Our hatred of a person often decreases as we learn to know him better. A boy graduating from high school is generally not as humble as when he graduates from medical school. At eighteen he thought he knew it all; at twenty-eight he feels himself ignorant in the face of the medical science he has yet to acquire. So it is with God. Because we do not pray or contemplate or love Him, we become vain and proud; but when we know Him better we feel a deep sense of dependce which tempers our false independence. Pride is the child of ignorance, humility the offspring of knowledge."
    PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!
Today is Day 2 of the Countdown Novena to the Election! Your prayers are vital! We recommend at least a decade a day and a Chaplet of Divine Mercy. If you can say a Rosary a day in hopes of a miracle that America can return to God through this election, that's even better! It's between you and God. Remember, nothing is impossible with Him!
