The Choir of Angels sing Mary's praises as she reflects the Goodness and Mystery of the Blessed Trinity in a mystical mirror that bids all to see and come to her Divine Son Jesus
In this issue we continue to bring you gems from archived issues by Pat Ludwa. Today Pat honors the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of Heaven and earth - Salve Regina - on this, the Feast of the Guardian Angels of whom she reigns above at the Triune Divinity's direction. Pat illustrates how Divine Revelation directs us to honor the Mother of God and afford her the titles and veneration due her as the Daughter of the Father, the Mother of the Son, and Spouse of the Holy Spirit. She is the Mother of the Church watching over us all as her loving children and drawing us all closer to her Divine Son. Feast of the Guardian Angels

Heaven is the dwelling-place of the angels, mysterious and sublime creatures; consequently the loving hope of the faithful who dwell in the darkness of this earthly life dares to trust in the light and comfort of these select spirits who enjoy Your beatific presence and never cease their service of praise and adoration.
Taken from the Preface for the Mass of the Guardian Angels.

The DAILY WORD
Taken from the Gospel for Monday's Mass

"Amen I say to you, unless you turn and become like little children, you will not enter into the kingdom of Heaven. Whoever, therefore humbles himself as this little child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven. And whoever receives one such little child for My sake, receives Me."

Matthew 18: 3-5

Events that happened Today in Church History

Pope Lucius IIIPope Clement VII    Today is the anniversary of the death of two Sovereign Pontiffs, both of whom had to deal with being overwhelmed by heretics. First, on this day 815 years ago in 1185 A.D. Pope Lucius III passed on to his Heavenly reward. The four year papacy of this 171st successor of Peter was frought with heresies which prompted him to command the Papal States to suppress heresy by any means, even force, if necessary. He himself had to flee to Verona, driven from Rome because of riots in the streets by the heretics. Heresy was the millstone the 219th in the line of Peter had to deal with as well. 466 years ago Pope Clement VII died after an eleven year pontificate during the height of the Protestant Reformation. He was helpless to curb the bitter struggle between Catholics and Lutherans. In addition, he was forced to excommunicate the king of England, Henry VIII for his disobedience. The Church was in the throes of abandonment and reform was greatly needed. That resolve - the Council of Trent - would come too late for Clement. Famous quotes of Bishop Fulton J. SheenLive right and you'll always be right!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

" What is driving people to sleeping tablets is to some extent driving them to psychoanalytical couches - they are in flight from what is distasteful and what cannot be blotted out - and most often it is unrequited guilt. We point out these sad facts to remind those who are full of fears and anxieties that there is another remedy besides sleeping tablets, and that is consciously confronting our guilt and asking the pardon of God. Another way is to live right, so we won't have to try to forget. "
