The angels are trying to help us ring in symphony with God's WillThe bells of contemplative prayer need to ring in harmony with the bells of active work for the Church as Christ taught and lived. If not, there is a cacaphony of noise that rings harsh in the hearts of Catholics everywhere as well as echoing hollow in Heaven.

We must follow the example of Christ and His Blessed MotherWe need a balance of both and it's up to us. We can let the abuses continue or we can do something about it through prayer and charity for united we pray, divided we are prey!

Symphony of SufferingCyndi Cain    In her sixteenth installment, Cyndi Cain tries to soothe the cacaphony of bells that are ringing out of sync within the Mystical Body of Christ - the Church. Through the grace of the Holy Spirit, she shares how those who have not taken the time to truly study the Second Vatican Council documents have misconstrued all that was passed down. She reminds us that too many truly do not understand that the Council Fathers changed nothing in respect to Faith and Morals, Doctrine and Traditions; rather they reinforced it. But factions on both the left and right sought to do their own thing, thus deciding they knew better than God and His Holy Church. When we are divided, then satan can work much easier and he does on both the left and right. She pleads to all - from bishop to the mere parishioner to strive mightily to come back in harmony with the Mystical Body of Christ as the Church teaches so there is a symphony of unity with all bells ringing in harmony. This means standing up for the Faith, standing up against abuses when we truly know they are being done. Not judging, but lovingly correcting in the spirit of Our Lord's words in Matthew 5: 24, 7: 3-5, 12: 50, and especially 18: 15 "But if thy brother sin against thee, go and show him his fault, between thee and him alone. If he listen to thee, thou has won thy brother. But if he do not listen to thee, take with thee one or two more so that on the word of two or three witnesses every word may be confirmed. And if he refuse to hear them, appeal to the Church, but if he refuse to hear even the Church, let him be to thee as the heathen and the publican." It is the next two verses that are so important for there is so much power in united prayer, "I say to you further, that if two of you shall agree on earth about anything at all for which they ask, it shall be done for them by My Father in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered together for My sake, there am I in the midst of them." We all need to gather for there are strength in numbers and the time-honored axiom holds so true, united we pray, divided we are prey! The DAILY WORD
Taken from the Gospel for Tuesday's Mass

"What is the kingdom of God like, and to what shall I liken it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and cast into his own garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air dwelt in its branches."

    Luke 13: 18-19

Events that happened Today in Church History

Galileo Galilei - painting from the Museum in Florence    Today is the eighth anniversary of Pope John Paul II's reinstatement of the great astronomer, mathematician and inventor Galileo Galilei in the good graces of Holy Mother Church. The Holy Father forgave his errors, pointing out all the good Galileo had done and the visionary he was and the fact politics and personalities, as well as ignorance, played a major role in Galileo being excommunicated by Pope Urban VIII in 1633 for his Copernican theory. Indeed his theory of the rotation of the earth is true. It's interesting to note that Galileo had been a personal friend of Urban's for many years but when Galileo stubbornly held to his scientific views, even pleading before the Tribunal which for prejudicial reasons refused to accept, Urban had no choice but to condemn his friend's work. The same scenario can be told of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre who also was sabotaged by ensconced Curia members. However John Paul II was forced to excommunicate his friend in the Episcopate because he would not obey. Famous quotes of Bishop Fulton J. SheenThere is only one standard by which we can judge

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"Proud people think themselves to be better than they are, and when criticized always believe their neighbor is jealous or has a grudge against them. The humble know themselves as they really are, for they judge themselves as they judge time, by a standard outside themselves, namely, God and His Moral Law."
    PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!
Today is Day 2 of the Countdown Novena to the Election! Your prayers are vital! We recommend at least a decade a day and a Chaplet of Divine Mercy. If you can say a Rosary a day in hopes of a miracle that America can return to God through this election, that's even better! It's between you and God. Remember, nothing is impossible with Him!
