The DAILY WORD
Taken from the Gospel for the Fifth Tuesday of Easter:
"Peace is My farewell to you, My peace is My gift to you; I do not give it to you as the world gives peace. Do not be distressed or fearful. You have heard Me say, 'I go away for a while and I come back to you.' If you truly love Me you would rejoice to have Me go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I." John 14: 27-28

Events that happened this weekend in Church History
On this date 570 years ago in 1430 Saint Joan of Arc, known as the Maid of Orleans, was captured by the Burgundians after a vicious battle in trying to defend her beloved France. Through politics and chicanery, she was handed over to the English who were the enemy of the French at that time and which would prove the beginning of her human downfall, but the beginning also of her rise to holiness in defending her Faith and not being dissuaded from the will of God. For this she would be burned at the stake under the charges she was a heretic, but as it was later proven, she was anything but a heretic and for her martyrdom the Church raised her to sainthood. For the brief time capsule events that happened today in Church history, see MILLENNIUM MILESTONES AND MEMORIES
The self-destruction of self-will
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".
"The will that always insists on having its own way, begins to hate its own way. Those who live only for self begins to hate self. self is too narrow, confining and dark a sanctuary for happy adoration."
April 25th Medjugorje Monthly Message
NOTE: We respectfully recognize and accept the final authority regarding apparitions, locutions and prophecies presently being reported around the world rests with the Holy See of Rome and the Magisterium of Holy Mother Church to whose judjment we humbly and obediently submit.
"Dear children! Also today I call you to conversion. You are concerned too much about material things and little about spiritual ones. Open your hearts and start again to work more on your personal conversion. Decide everyday to dedicate time to God and to prayer until prayer becomes a joyful meeting with God for you. Only in this way will your life have meaning and with joy you will contemplate eternal life. Thank you for having responded to my call."
