Today is a cornucopia of celebrations. Not only is it Mother's Day, but also the feast of the holy Doctor of the Church St. Robert Bellarmine as well as the traditional feast of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. However this year it falls on the Fifth Sunday after Easter and therefore there is only a commemoration of St. Robert. Since the 95th Anniversary of the First Apparition at the Cova to the three children of Fatima falls on Sunday there is no excuse for everyone to ask all our moms to participate with the family in the various Rosary processions and call upon our heavenly mom to intercede for her children in this valley of tears and at this very time it truly is a valley of tears because we have not heeded the infallible teachings of her divine Son nor have we stopped the errors of Russia that have spread throughout the world, probably never more evident than it is in 2012. And it's only going to get worse as the SSPX teeters on the brink of extinction, swallowed up by the ruthless condor of conciliarism. Pray the other three bishops stay true and connect the dots that Ratzinger and those who preceded him cannot possibly be true popes, let alone be Catholic. Pray the ranks of Traditional Catholics will swell through the storming of Heaven with countless bouquets of Ave's to stay the hand of God. Begin each day with the Fatima Prayers.

Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today, on Mother's Day we honor her as the first Mother - Mother of the Son of God and our heavenly Mother whom we can go to at any time and loves to hear from us if just to say hi, but she loves it when we pray her holy Rosary and remember her magnificent titles listed in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
For features in today's issue, see:

We can begin to work on this cure by praying her Holy Rosary each and every day - especially during her Month of May - and, if your state in life permits, all fifteen decades as a spiritual bouquet that will pay tremendous dividends both spiritually and temporally for those of good will. We also remind you to pray the Regina Coeli during Paschaltide.

In the Haydock Commentary for the Fifth Sunday after Easter from Father George Leo Haydock found in many Douay-Rheims version of the New Testament and provided here by John Gregory, we see in the Epistle by St. James only the penitent man who heeds God's law and will shall not fear. For God knows a man's heart. One can never hide from God and it's important to realize that as great as the Corporal Works of Mercy might be, they are hollow if the Spiritual Works of Mercy are not applied. To work out one's salvation in fear and trembling, one cannot be passive, but rather active for the good of souls as God so wills and in the Gospel our Lord reaffirms His divinity in His discourse with His apostles in reminding them that He must return to the Father Who sent Him. But He encourages them that they shall know great joy and anything they ask of the Father in Christ's name, it will be granted. Quite a promise that has been fulfilled ever since to all who comply with all He asks. Through Christ our Lord

Saint Robert Bellarmine, the holy Cardinal and Doctor of the Church is the feast in which Our Lady chose to begin her historic and vital apparitions to three children at the Cova in Portugal. This Italian saint was born on the feast of the founder of the Franciscans, but trained as a Jesuit and came through with flying colors in God's eyes in upholding the ideals of the Society as its founders had established. He was an extremely sharp polemist who was not afraid to take on the most vitrolic Protestant theologians and, because this master apologist never wavered from Catholic truth, he always won out in perpetuating the Counter Reformation of Trent. His fame, humility and sense of the sensus Catholicus won back countless souls who had wavered during the Reformation. But his wisdom was not employed only on the sheep, but the shepherds as well - the chief shepherds - for he was Theologian and Spiritual Counselor to no less than five Popes. He was the noted Theologian to the Roman Pontiffs

For the thirteenth of May the flower was the LAUREL blossom with the corresponding Virtue being LOVE OF DUTY. What a perfect day for this for it was the love of duty to the Church and Christ's Vicar on earth that prompted St. Robert Bellarmine to become a Jesuit priest and then to utilize all his God-given talents for the greater honor and glory of God and His Holy Church. Likewise, Our Lady appeared near the Cova and a copse of trees where Laurel blossoms might be found and her message was to remind her children of our duty to pray and to obey her Divine Son. She instilled in the Fatima children and from them out to all mankind the importance of the Virtue of Love of Duty. We have a duty to spread and live all Our Lady imparted and which was officially approved as worthy of belief by Holy Mother Church as is the Devotion of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

We hope to reach more souls through this newest technology of twitter in the left column. It is something that prior to now we have avoided. However, in an effort to reach beyond the choir, if you will, and to provide inspiration with short prayers and ejaculations, facts, links, comments and quips, we've launched out into the deep of social networking with twitter.com/dailycatholoic and ask guidance from the Holy Ghost to navigate others to the beacon we offer with the safe port of the DailyCatholic. Some have suggested we start a facebook page and our answer to that is we have enough on our plate with this site which contains well over 50,000 pages already. If someone wants to start a facebook page for SANCTUS/DailyCatholic we would be open to communicating with them, but we ourselves do not have the time to manage it.

The Fatima Prayers
My God, I believe, I adore, I trust and I love Thee; and I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love Thee.
(repeat the above 3 times then bow your head in reciting the following:)

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in unison with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

O Most Holy Trinity, I addore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament!

O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.
