  •    We could not think of a better day to introduce a new feature here and that is bringing you a chapter a day for meditation on the wondrous, Church-approved, plethora of prophesies revealed to St. Bridget of Sweden in the fourteenth century which, as you reflect on Our Lord's words to her, you will realize they hold even truer in our very time today. In an effort for each person to intensify their spiritual life and strive toward holiness, we present, thanks to the resources of Catholic-Saints.net, a chapter each day so readers can meditate on the contents of each short chapter and not be overwhelmed by too much. We also encourage readers to begin today, on St. Bridget's feastday, the One Year Devotion of the Fifteen Prayers of St. Bridget in expiation for the number of lashes and scourges Jesus received during His terrible Passion. As the world grows darker, we provide the Light in how to apply It to our own lives so that we can truly live in and love Him alone. If we strive to do that, we will have all we need and, as He has promised, we will have it in abundance. Isn't it time to soul-stretch and exercise those prayers? You can find them at

The Feast of the the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary is an occasion to bring you inspiration from the venerated Benedictine Abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger for, sadly, too many are unaware of the tremendous power of the heavenly weapon bestowed on St. Dominic Gusman for the specific purpose of putting down heresies. Since that time the Rosary has proven to be the ultimate artillery to turn back the enemy from Lepanto to Viena to countless other examples, a few of which Abbe Gueranger treats in his short essay on the Feast of the Holy Rosary which still in his time was celebrated on the First Sunday of October, but in 1913 His Holiness Pope St. Pius X set the Double of the Second Class feast for October 7, the date of the victory at Lepanto and superseding the previous feast of Our Lady of Victory as assigned by His Holiness Pope St. Pius V. Gueranger shows how the Church in her wisdom has mapped out the liturgical year in such perfect fashion which he explained his his marvelous fifteen volume masterpiece The Liturgical Year in Volume 14, pages 295-300 which we bring you here in The Lasting Magnificence, Grace, and Power of the Holy Rosary.

While Atila Sinke Guimaraes weighs in on why he doesn't believe the 'beatification' of John Henry Cardinal Newman is kosher because of the lapse of rules, we should remind readers that he is right; not just because Canon Law is not being followed, but also because only a true pope can officially elevate a person toward being recognized as Blessed. Modern Rome has no true ecclesial authority in the eyes of God and the perennial, infallible Magisterium of Eternal Rome. In studying Newman's life and writings, Atila, who has provided numerous examples of the damaging documentation of Newman's errors, has come to the conclusion that Newman is definitely less than worthy of such an honor and what the circus in Birmingham last month proved is that this is merely Benedict's modus operandi for furthering the agenda of Vatican II. After all, what else would you expect from the robber barons who eclipsed the true Church at Vatican II and now are so devious and desperate as to try to pose one as 'blessed' who, a century before Vatican II, actually aped the agenda of the Modernists? Just the fact that there are serious suspicions of Newman's possible homosexuality with his long time friend should raise enough red flags unless there are questions about such tendencies in the Modern Vatican itself today...and there most definitely are! Atila calls the so-called 'miracle' attributed to Newman as very dubious. We would call a real miracle occuring when the faithful truly realize the fact that the "operation of error, to believe a lie" (cf. 2 Thess. 2: 10) is the conciliar church in our time! Devastating, but true. As for Newman, Atila lays out his arguments in Doubts About Newman's Beatification

It does no good to blame Adam and Eve because that's past history and the one we can really thank is the Second Adam - Jesus Christ for it is through His merits by His death and resurrection that we gain the opportunity for everlasting life as the Catechism has always taught n why we strive to stay in the state of grace received first at baptism to rid our souls of Original Sin. However, contrary to Protestant thinking, everything we do following baptism we are responsible for and must answer to God for, due to man's penchant for bad, we are not perfect and must work hard to avoid actual and venial sins and be sure we never commit a mortal sin. The latter will be covered next week, but for this week we focus on Original and Actual sins for, by God's design of free will we are grist for the world, the flesh and the devil unless we remember why we were baptized and obey God in all things great and small, because the small sins, though venial, still greatly offend the One Who gave us life. In step thirteen of this series we deal with the why of Man's Fallen Human Nature

The devotion of the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary dates at least from the Twelfth Century, but despite the threat at Lepanto and Viena, as well as Belgrade in defeating the Islam terror, today we face even greater danger globally from the infidel as a punishment for our sins. Why? Because those who claim to be Christian have caved to the world, the flesh and the devil. Modernism can do that and the only answer is prayer. Heaven has given us, outside of the true Immemorial Latin Mass of All Time, the holy Rosary...and if we don't all use it soon as it was meant to be used, there may be no miracle this time. We have the weapon. Will we use it as St. Pius V encouraged? Or will we be apathetic, thinking others will pray and we'll be fine? Can we afford to take such a reckless chance? No, we can't. So pick up those weapons and pray. It's our only answer.

During October we can also call upon the foster father of Jesus and Mary's chaste earthly spouse Saint Joseph with the following special prayer, prayed after recitation of the holy Rosary:

Prayer to St. Joseph during October

To thee, O blessed Joseph, we have recourse in our affliction and having implored the help of thy thrice holy Spouse, we now, with hearts filled with confidence, earnestly beg thee also to take us under thy protection. By that charity wherewith thou wert united to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and by that fatherly love with which thou didst cherish the Child Jesus, we beseech thee and we humbly pray that thou wilt look down with gracious eye upon that inheritance which Jesus Christ purchased by His blood and wilt succor us in our need by thy power and strength.

Defend, O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family, the chosen offspring of Jesus Christ. Keep from us, O most loving Fathher, all blight of error and corruption. Aid us from on high, most valiant defender, in this conflict with the powers of darkness. And even as of old thou didst rescue the Child Jesus from the peril of His life, so now defend God's Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity. Shield us ever under thy patronage, that, following thine example and strengthened by thy help, we may live a holy life, die a happy death and attain to everlasting bliss in Heaven. Amen.

At a time when the infidel is at the gates once more, we should remember the lesson of Lepanto. Trust in God and pray the holy Rosary. We've included the 15 Promises of the Rosary to illustrate the great benefits of her holy Psalter. In concert with Our Lady's request at Fatima, we continue to promote Holy Hour in the Home either nightly or each week. If ever we needed to spend more time with her divine Son Jesus it is in these times when chaos clouds everything. That is why both Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in everyone's home as Fr. Mateo Crawley-Boevey, SS.CC encouraged and the Rosary are so vital. What better way for those who cannot be in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament because of the shortage of chapels where the True Presence resides, than to be encouraged to watch with Christ before a picture or statue of the Sacred Heart and spend one hour with him in a nightly Holy Hour in one's own home with one's own family? Many of us might feel we don't have one hour a day or week to devote to prayer with our busy life because things are so hectic. Yet, think about all the excuses we might give. Could it be things are hectic because we don't take the time to pray? Do we take our Lord's words seriously when He asked in St. Mark 14: 27, "Couldst thou not watch one hour?"

Our only answer is to do what Our Lady asked at Fatima: to pray daily her holy Rosary and to make reparation. The renowned "Rosary priest" Fr. Patrick Peyton said "the family that prays together, stays together." In this time when the family is being fractured and phased out by Christ's enemies, what better way can we maintain our sanity and work on sanctity then bringing the family together to watch one hour with Jesus?

Fr. Mateo has implored us to offer our holy hour in adoration and thanksgiving, petition and atonement just as in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. In fact, he encourages us to include in our Holy Hour the Prayers of the Canon of the Mass, offering these prayers in union with all the true priests who, in other distant hemispheres, are simultaneously offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in Latin. It is an opportunity to add to the Silver Chalice when we cannot assist with the Golden Chalice.

Whatever prayers you might choose, know that God will be pleased that you took the time to devote to Him. Remember Christ's words "Ask, and you shall receive; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.". Let us all storm Heaven and, as we face a pivotal and crucial time in history, heed Fr. Mateo's prayer: "Conquer America, most Sacred Heart of Jesus! Reign in America, Christ the King!" Vivat Christus Rex! Vivo Christo Rey!

We also ask you to keep praying for the renowned long-time Traditional Benedictine Abbot of Christ the King Abbey in Cullman, Alabama Abbe Leonard Giardina, O.S.B. who suffered a stroke. He was ordained in 1949 and refused to go along with the New Order. In desiring to hold true to Catholic Truth and the Infallible, Dogmatic Decrees of Trent and perpetuate the Benedictine tradition and Rule, he received Abbatial Blessing from Bishop Robert Fidelis McKenna, O.P. to establish the Abbey in the South as a traditional stronghold. Sancta Maria, Salus infirmorum, ora pro patris.

It has definitely been a decade of transition, as this editor dubs it - Transition to Tradition, our last opportunity before God really lowers the boom. Looking back, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to see the deterioration in society as the ranks of the good, decent ones striving for holiness grow smaller and the enemy flanks are massing larger and larger, more threatening than ever. With every day we inch closer to the apocalypse foretold in the book of the same name, contrary to Protestant and conciliar concerns that it was always called "Revelation." Would St. John the Evangelist be surprised, and for that matter the holy Doctor of the Church who translated it and several of the holy hierarchs who ratified the Scriptures at various major councils of the Church, most recently at the dogmatic Council of Trent. Many closet conciliarists reading this may not be familiar with that council since the robber barons have sought to eliminate any mention of Trent in the same manner as the U.S. Government is doing everything it can to wipe out any mention of God. For both these offenses there are consequences, grave ones and we are beginning to see now that both anti-Catholic campaigns by the counterfeit church of conciliarism and the United States Congress and its cohorts in the Obama administration both in Washington and Chicago are getting more desperate as each day passes. Those not grounded in grace had best get right with God before it is too late. Call it "gloom and doom" if you want, but that doom can be eternal and that would cause anyone gloom. Can you say fire and brimstone? To remind you, we will be bringing you throughout this year "Diadems of the Decade" featuring an article from each month of each of the past ten years. We're not saying these are the "Best" of the decade for how do you choose which ones are the best? Yet, they are gems that we want to share for we're sure you will treasure them and realize, like fine jewels, they are still as valuable today especially when investing in souls. For this edition, we present a diadem for each October from 2000 through October 2009.

This column ran ten years ago in which Cyndi Cain, in her Symphony of Suffering column, cautioned all as to how we've let down our part of the bargain, so to speak, with the Communion of Saints. Society, over the last forty years or so, has become satan's pawn now more than ever. Cyndi illustrated how long gone are the days where roles were defined simply, as God defines the role of man and woman. Long gone are the days when "children were to be seen and not heard!" Today, it's the child that is always heard, and the parent is somehow, inexplicably found to be the one in trouble because how dare we deny our child anything!" She explained how our sins of omission have become the conscience of today, and that is to say a conscience, individual as well as collective, that is distorted by satan, who has provoked these sins of omission to run rampant. Abortion and homosexuality have become the norm because of our sin of omission. Hollywood and Madison Avenue control our kids because of our sin of omission. While songs about broken hearts permeate the airwaves, the Hearts we should be most concerned over are the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts because of our sins of omission. Cyndi asks, Why have we omitted the sins of omission? .

Why didn't the last Ecumenical Council condemn communism? The secret accord made at Metz supplies an answer.

Nine years ago Atila Sinke Guimaraes pointed out the embrace of Islam by the media in the wake of the terrorist attacks began with the acceptance of the infidel faith by the Pope himself when he kissed the Qu'ran. One has to wonder. What's even more troubling, very, very troubling, is the question: What would those who fought and died under the Cross of Christ against the scourge of the Crescent Moon say about John Paul II's acceptance of Islamism by making the universal statement that Christians, Jews and Muslims "worship the same God"? The last we checked nineteen hundred years ago, nine hundred years ago, nine years ago and nine minutes ago, both Jew and Muslim have never accepted Jesus Christ as the Son of God nor do they accept the Holy Ghost as the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity. How then can they worship the same God? It is impossible and Wojtyla and Ratzinger's claims to pacify man while greatly offending God are visible manifestations of apostasy, all betrayed by The Kiss and the Blood

Abstaining from pleasures of the flesh can provide priests greater treasure in the pleasures of the soul

In light of Benedict XVI so openly embracing an Anglican bishopess in Westminster Cathedral during his most recent sellout in the United Kingdom, one that Henry VIII would be most proud of and which Sts. Thomas More and John Fisher would have turned over in their graves, except they were in Heaven, we bring you a brief column by Mario Derksen that ran eight years ago. With so many liberals, especially the new squeaky voice trying to make noise - "Voice of the Faithful" - lobbying for a relaxation of celibacy restrictions that would allow married priests, Mario presented a succinct reply to those who cry that celibacy is the "albatross" which has caused vocations to dry up. Au contraire. Rather celibacy is the anchor to assuring stability of the Faith. The fact that so many have relaxed their own consciences shows that a man of God must be pure - inside and out. Mario provided Scriptural and Ecclesial justification for why celibacy is mandatory. The Apostle Paul had a good idea and throughout her history, the Church, in her wisdom has shown the fruits of priests living a chaste life. Remain chaste, vocations will flourish. Mario verifies this in his column Why Celibacy?

Turning the tables on those who think man's will is more important than God's will and those who regard temporal things more important than spiritual matters

Back in 2003 we first introduced an up and coming writer to The DailyCatholic cadre of traditional writers who, like many, first cut his teeth here. That would be Gabriel Garnica, an educator and attorney. In his first article he tackled one of the problems facing Catholics and that is the abomination that has polluted every conciliar chancery, diocese and parish. Heaven is once again under attack by those who would seek to ignore and overthrow God's majesty and authority. Gabriel's notes have been music to tradtional ears but unpleasant tones to those who continue to stubbornly buy into the misguided notions so prevalent and spreading in today's Catholic world because of blind obedience and the very fact that most do not want to know the truth. Gabriel sounded the clarion in asking us to take up the whip and drive the modernists out of holy Mother Church as he explained in his column Overturning the Moneychangers

The wraiths of today have incurred the wrath of God

Seven years ago, Father Lawrence Smith presented a fascinating, mind-probing essay on defending the sensus Catholicus of J.R.R. Tolkien. This was in concert with the immense success of the Lord of the Rings series. While some have tried to delve inside the creative mind of Tolkien, they fail to realize the guiding light that illuminated his ventures into the world of Middle Earth - his Catholic Faith and the solid sensus Catholicus of his writings. Fans of Tolkien might find this interesting. Critics of Tolkien might find this frustrating. Fans might become critics or critics might become fans on reading it. Or nothing might come of it all. Whatever the reader senses, Father's piece was an answer to a fellow priest's inquiry on the English master and his work. Father answered it in his indubitable, witty and thought-provoking style that hopefully prompted many to read it again and again for more of the gems of his writing on the writings of Tolkien and The Theology of Tolkien's Mythology

Is the Pope Catholic? Remember when that was intended as a joke? Well in the past half decade it's no longer a joke, especially to God, because the answer in this conciliar era is a resounding "No!"

Half a decade ago editor Michael Cain wrapped up the two week foray into a hitherto non-discussed subject and that is whether the conciliar popes from John XXIII through Benedict XVI were Catholic. Having weighed all the essays to date, Cain applied Our Lord's words in Sacred Scripture and the disciplinary measures set in place to assure the faithful whether one elected to the Chair of Peter is indeed a Pope before God and man and Cain asserted that, true to Christ's words, "no man can serve two masters." Either the conciliar popes have served God uncompromisingly and preserved the constituted evangelic Tradition and the purity of the orthodox Faith and Christian religion without altering anything their predecessors have defined and declared, or they have undertaken such a blasphemous venture as to incur their own excommunication and therefore forfeit all authority per Christ's words and Pope Paul IV's Papal Bull Cum ex apostolatus officio which is still in force. It can't be both. Either they are Catholic or not. There can be no middle road. Cain broke down the doctrinal deductions in his editorial The Syllogism of Sedevacantism

When it comes to telling the truth no question is ever too difficult. When it comes to avoiding the truth no true answer is possible.

Four years ago Griff Ruby asked if there were any sedevacantists really so silly and foolish as to be unable to answer "Ten items that Sedevancantists can't or won't talk about." Says who? Not Griff, for he tackled this head-on in something that resulted in a little known 'Letters to the Editor' posted in The Remnant from a California physician who thought he was going to trip up those who realize the conciliar popes are not Catholic. This doctor hadn't counted on Griff who illustrated how there really is no question that cannot be answered. Yet often times, sincerity is masked when certain questions are asked with the purpose of trapping or intimidating one so they will not reply. Such are often intended not as sincere questions, but posed in the very same manner of questioning that Jesus faced with the Scribes and Pharisees - the Hypocrites of the Sanhedrin, whom our Lord castigated so vigorously with such vivid imagery in Matthew 23. Often times such questioning is one's way of throwing stones, and by posing the questions without a balanced response, are often intended to hurt or to pile up mortar to hide the asker's own ignorance or other ulterior motives. Griff showed that the questions were really not that difficult when answered through the truth of Faith. Unfortunately, as we suspected of the hypocritical actions of the Resist and Recognize crowd, The Remnant never printed for their readers 10 Simple Answers to 10 Easy Questions

There is a method to the Muslim madness and we had better wake up soon and realize we cannot tolerate it!

Three years ago we featured a gem of the past penned by one simply known as Doctrina who in 2002 first wrote the words that today are on everyone's mind as the Muslim hordes overrun Europe and threaten our own shores in the United States with the threat of erecting a mosque wherever the infidel has conquered. That would be the World Trade Center, demolished on September 11, 2001 by radical Islamists, who are no different than the ruthless Saracens of the time of the Crusades, the bloodthirsty Turks at Lepanto and in Austria or the plundering Moors in Spain - all out to destroy Christianity as laid out in the devious Koran. Doctrina lays out the statistics, causes and effects and asks why anyone would be surprised that they are merely carrying out the hateful vendetta subscribed by the apostate 'prophet' of the devil Mohammed in the seventh century, which gives even more credence that they would target the most Catholic countries in Spain and Austria and now France. Since this essay first ran, French legislation has outlawed burkas in public in an effort to curb the stealth stallions who have already left the barn. While many might advocate pigs' blood to thwart their efforts, it is really only the Most Precious Blood of Jesus which will halt the barbarians at the gates. Read the sad facts of a country, a world veering away from the true Faith in France: Eldest Daughter of the Church, and the First to go Muslim. Can England, Germany, Italy, and the US be far behind?

God works in mysterious ways and one way to fulfill the Fatima message is to begin with one priest and plant the seed for the conversion of Russia

Ninety one years after Our Lady appeared at the Cova in Fatima her request for the conversion of Russia could finally begin to show fruit even if it might seem but one bud on a massive tree. Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey filed an article two years ago on the ordination of a traditional priest from Russia Fr. Alexander Kryssov who was baptized in Moscow by a Lithuanian priest and now returns to the heart of the Kremlin to begin the restoration of holy Mother Church one soul at a time. While many may say this is impossible, we are reminded of Christ's Own words in St. Matthew 19: 26, St. Mark 10: 27 and St. Luke 18: 27 that "with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." What many fail to realize is that it is our Lord's Own holy Mother Mary who can tip the scale for making it all very possible in God's time, not ours. Patience is a virtue and we all need to be more patient and much, much more virtuous as we pray for Father and the growth of the true Faith not only in Russia but also throughout the world, so dulled and blinded by conciliarism. Tom explained in Planting the Seeds for the Triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart

Just two verses by St. Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2 tell us volumes in proving the Chair of Peter remains empty in these very times we live

Stephen Grieve hails from across the pond in England and provided the following series last year that we have incorporated into one set for this month's Diadems of the Decade so that those who continue to elude the inevitability that a true pope would never and could never do what the conciliar leaders in Rome have done for the past 50 years will realize it is not only past previous Popes and Catholic truth which convict the conciliar 'popes' but divine Revelation itself. Hopefully those deniers will be shaken out of their stupor by what Steve furnished for the basis for a sede vacante stance based on holy Scripture itself. With the Cross, Christ fulfilled all that was necessary for the Old Covenant and established the New Covenant with the ultimate Sacrifice on Calvary leading to His Resurrection and Ascension, leaving us His Spirit, the Third Person of the Holy Trinity to guide us with the Word and Tradition of the only Church Christ established on earth. Hard to argue with the divine Word as Steven traces the etimology of the Greek for two verses that speak volumes with his Examination of 2 Thessalonians 2: 6-7

Traditio recently alerted readers that "One press that used to be considered 'traditional' was sold out a couple of years ago to a Protestant conglomerate, but still calls itself 'traditional,' even though its publications now fully support the Protestant Novus Ordo. That press that published Fr. James Wathen's 1971 seminal work against the validity of the Novus Ordo, The Great Sacrilege, has pulled the book from its list because, now under its Protestant directors, it is no longer permitted to state that 'the New Mass [sic] is illegal, immoral, and not Catholic.' The once-courageous press can no longer publish a book that it now claims, under its new Protestant management, 'defames the [New]church and calls its approved form of the mass [sic] an invalid sacrilege.' The press now specifically rejects the truth that the Traditional Latin Mass "is the 'only' and 'true' Mass and that the Novus Ordo is invalid or illicit."

The Fathers are, of course, referring to TAN Books. But have no fear. We are pleased to remind all readers that the late Fr. Wathen graciously gave The DailyCatholic permission in September 2001 to publish the entire book online so that it could be read by everyone, no matter the censorship by the counterfeit church of conciliarism. Thus, you can read his entire masterful work that has withstood the test of 40 years. No one has been able to refute the truth of his words in The Great Sacrilege

With so many unable to access the Traditional Latin Mass, you now have the opportunity to at least inspire your perseverance in keeping the Faith by the edification of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. You can now order a fantastic new DVD on the Tridentine Latin Mass with subtitles for both the Latin and English of a beautiful Low Mass said by Fr. Benedict Hughes, CMRI on last year's Feast of St. Michael the Archangel on the altar of St. Joseph's in Wayne, Michigan where Fr. Francisco Radecki, CMRI is the pastor and head of St. Joseph Media.

Also includes a Latin Mass Little Missal booklet of the Ordinary of the Mass in both Latin and English. The DVD also has BONUS material on the meaning of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the sacred vessels, vestments and liturgical explanations. A must have for all Catholics. Send them to your friends and family.

To make this available to as many as possible, the price has been lowered to only $15.95 plus shipping. Don't pass up this offer. Catch a minute and a half sample at The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on DVD Offer
