The following 15 promises (the same number of Mysteries) were given by the Blessed Mother of God to Saint Dominic
and Blessed Alan in the twelfth century. To every person who devoutly prays the Rosary, Our Lady
promises: 
1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of
the Rosary, shall receive signal graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces
to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
3. The Rosary shall be powerful armor against hell. It will
destroy vice, decrease sin and defeat heresies.
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish. It will
obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God. It will withdraw
the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities,
and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh,
that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation
of the Rosary, shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself
to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never
be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in
His justice. He shall not perish by an unprovided death.
If he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become
worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall
not die without the sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have,
during their life and at their death, the light of God and
the plentitude of His graces. At the moment of death, they
shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.
9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted
to the Rosary.
10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high
degree of glory in Heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of
the Rosary.
12. All those who propagate the holy Rosary shall be aided
by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates
of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial
court during their life and at the hour of death.
14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons and brothers of
my only Son, Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion of my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

Griff Ruby files his second installment - in one of several series he is currently running - in which he addresses the fact that one of the problems of establishing unity within the sedevacantist movement and making a difference with strength in number for the sake of saving souls is the division of Absolute Sedevacantists and Cassiciacum Sedevacantists; the latter consisting of those who believe in the Formaliter/Materialiter status of the man who sits on the Throne of Peter. Griff dissects the arguments raised by the Society in which they have inadvertently opened their own Pandora's Box considering their giving credence to the very real possibility that both sede camps have points that not only outweigh the compromising position of the SSPX, but also prove the Society is headed down the wrong road...one leading to the conciliar cul-de-sac that provides no way out. Such a stance has led to the inevitable trap they currently find themselves in where we see mass defections as Fellay's farrago has fed mass confusion within its own ranks. Every step he takes is like quicksand, sinking him and the Society deeper. The only escape to firm footing is to embrace sedevacantism. Evidently the SSPX will have to learn the hard way before waking up to that fact. And the position of Sede Vacante itself will need to be more embraceable by being more consistent and complete within itself as Griff explains in And Now, the Other Kind of Sedevacantist .
 This year the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi falls on a Sunday and thus there is only a commemoration. The humble Francis, born in 1182, was the founder of the Order of Friars Minor. Chosen by God to be a living manifestation to the world of Christ's poor and suffering life on earth, he was early inspired with a burning love of poverty and humiliation. Divine desire burned in him so mightily as to kindle a like desire in other hearts. Many joined him, and were constituted by Pope Innocent III into a Religious Order. He lived at the time when the feudal system was disappearing, and Christian democracy was dawning. St. Francis undertook to teach to this generation a spiritual language suited to its new aspirations. He led the people to devotion towards the sacred humanity and the person of the Redeemer, a devotion which has continued to increase. He set the example for clergy and people of detachment from worldly wealth and worldly honors. His reform was carried out not by rebellion, but in accord with the head of the Church. It was the papal authority, which from the first directed that overwhelming current of new life and evangelical mysticism loosed by the saint, and incorporated it in the service of the Church.    We continue with the Sunday Haydock Commentary for the Epistle and Gospel. This special feature provided by John Gregory concerns the Haydock Commentary found at the bottom of each page of the Douay-Rheims Bible penned by Father George Leo Haydock. For the Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost Father Haydock provides one of the keys to revealing Christ's divinity in knowing hearts and working miracles. Few miracles conveyed as much resentment from the Pharisees as His baiting their blackened souls for He knew their hearts and, in His healing the man because of the faith of those who had brought him forward, Jesus was manifesting that He, as the Son of God, had the power to forgive sins, a power He bestowed on the Apostles of the only Church He established.

His Holiness Pope Pius XI canonized Mary Frances Teresa Martin on May 17, 1925 and established her feast for October 3 in the traditional liturgy. This year her feast falls on the First Saturday of the month of the Holy Rosary and it is fitting for she was known for offering roses to Christ and what better roses than the rosary, a spiritual bouquet of roses offered to Heaven. It is each small rose or Ave offered up to make a large bouquet that receives Heaven's blessing. God is pleased when we do the little things as well as we can, offering all for His honor and glory. St. Therese of the Child Jesus was made of this mold. She was born of saintly parents at Alencon (Orne) on January 2, 1873. She was educated by the Benedictine Nuns at Lisieux. After her ninth year she tried to enter the Carmelites, and put her case before the Bishop of Bayeux and Pope Leo XIII, whom she visited. At the age of fifteen she was allowed to enter the Carmel at Lisieux (April 9, 1888). She died at the age of twenty-four. There was nothing extra-ordinary about her religious life; she was perfect in her simplicity, humility, charity, her love of God and her trust in Him. She offered herself as a victim to the "merciful love of the good God." She was just a little child in the arms of Jesus. Her way of sanctity was a little way; Pius XI said: "We wish that St. Theresa's secret of sanctity should be made known to every one of our children. We have set her before the children of the Church as a striking and most precious example." Countless miracles have been wrought through her intercession. On her death bed she said: "I do not intend to remain idle in Heaven. My longing is to labor even there for the Church and souls. Our Lord will work wonders for me that will infinitely surpass my boundless desire. After my death I shall let fall a shower of roses." The feast of the Holy Angels reminded us that our Guardian Angels are there to help us in everything we do. That includes when you can't physically get to Holy Mass, such as for those who cannot attend Holy Mass on a daily basis, or even on Sundays because quite possibly a Traditional Latin Mass is not near. You can always send your Angel to the Holy Sacrifice on your behalf in order to join the untold choirs of Angels adoring Christ come down upon the altar.    October is a highlight month for the Mother of God with several feasts honoring Our Lady leading to the consummate feast of her Divine Son's Kingship on the last Sunday of this month of the Most Holy Rosary. We begin with the final Saturday of the Fifteen Week Novena introduced by His Excellency Bishop Robert McKenna, O.P. for our country and for conversion of souls to the True Faith. The final intention on the feast of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus for the Fifteenth Mystery of the Coronation is Perseverance. That is what we all need, perseverance in these times when we can harkon back to the anniversary of two feasts this month. First, October 7 when we commemorate the 438th anniversary of the victory at Lepanto over the Turks in which, despite overwhelming odds favoring the Islamic infidels, Christians prayed the Holy Rosary and Don Juan of Austria led a decisive defeat. His Holiness Pope St. Pius V declared it the feast of Our Lady of Victory, eventually becoming the feast of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Considering how the infidels have made such strides over the past two decades, we have to be on our guard more than ever and at all times, constantly on our knees against those infidels who would seek to destroy the Faith Christ established. This year this feast serves as the kickoff for the 2009 National Fatima Conference held every year at the magnificent scenic and serene campus of Mount St. Michael's overlooking the city of Spokane, Washington. This year the conference is headed by His Excellency Bishop Mark Pivarunas, CMRI and an array of impressive speakers from the priestly ranks of the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen. This conference finishes up on the Feast of the Divine Maternity of the Blessed Mother and two days later we celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the final apparition at Fatima when the miraculous event of the sun spinning occurred. Our Lady's message is more urgent than ever for all she foretold has come to pass except for two things: Consecration of Russia by a true pope in union with all the true bishops of the world, and the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart. We know that cannot happen until man cooperates. That is why praying the Rosary, living the faith through our example and evangelizing the True Faith are so important. For more on the conference, see

 Considering October 1 is a Feria Day we present from this past Sunday the Haydock Commentary for Sunday's Epistle and Gospel with this special feature provided by John Gregory concerning the Haydock Commentary found at the bottom of each page of the Douay-Rheims Bible. We publish it here in conjunction with the Epistle and Gospel for the Sunday Mass, with the cogent comprehensive Catholic Commentary penned by Father George Leo Haydock. The focus of the Commentary for the Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost is the virtue of love. St. Paul introduces this greatest of Christian virtues to the Ephesians, the very same command Our Lord announces to all. It catches the Pharisees off guard as they try to trick Him, but we all know you cannot fool God. You'll note, from that time on they didn't question Christ again until, of course, He had been arrested and thrust into a Kangaroo court, so to speak. At all times He edified the kind of love we must extend to all, including our enemy in praying for their eternal salvation.

We have no compunction in informing you that we are running on fumes. This is our mayday alert that we desperately need your help. That amount - times the number of visitors per week for The DailyCatholic - would basically set us up for the year with over $25,000. just there. However, we know that won't happen considering the apathy and modernist philosophy that has seeped into society today where so many consider themselves entitled. They seem to think they can use things for free with little consideration toward those, who have not only spent many, many years in learning and intense study (not to mention costs), but also continue to labor long in time and research to provide Catholic truth and information that would, in a true republic or monarchy, be duly rewarded or reciprocated in trade in the manner that made the guilds so successful and so Catholic. Did Our Lord not say, "a laborer is worthy of his hire" in St. Luke 10: 7? What say you? Won't you help us in our mission for saving souls?
