Saint John the Baptist's Birth and the the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul consume this last week of June and the Octave Week of these Feasts

This week from the Nativity of St. John the Baptist up to the eve of the Feast of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ can best be described as a "Within the Octave" Feast Week for indeed it is a feast of being within the Octave of three Double of the First Class Feasts. We continue our summer mode issues and, in order to load faster, have assigned various features to each section which you can go to by clicking either on the bars above right or the bar features below. We will update the news regularly, but this page, for the most part, remains static until the next issue next Thursday on July 1st. Please be patient while we upgrade the other pages.

For those who truly want to delve deeper into what the Faith teaches and what past Sovereign Pontiffs have decreed, we recommend for your vital reading to better KNOW THE FAITH in order to KEEP THE FAITH, pertinent Papal decrees which put to the lie what is being promulgated today by the Vatican II church. We strongly encourage you to read these to understand how today the modern church is in Apostasy when compared to what had always been taught by Holy Mother Church and enforced and warned as most grievous by previous Pontiffs as you'll see in CREDO & CULTURE

"Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Fourth Sunday After Pentecost, he mixes metaphors, so to speak, by using birds for his parable in comparison to Christ's use of fish in casting the nets as 'fishers of men.' So also through grace and the truth of our Faith we are given wings to fly to God and away from the ravages of the world, the flesh and the devil as the Apostle Paul says in today's Epistle that "the creature shall be delivered from the servitude of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God." This is only possible by believing and being baptized; and only in the Church founded by Christ through His instruments "who have the first-fruits of the Spirit" Yet, so sadly this pope and the Vatican II 'evangelization' only makes it worse by accommodating those who do not have wings think they do when, in truth, the time to fly to God will not be possible for they have not believed as they should. Why? Because they were blinded by false teaching and have not learned how to "fly." Woe to those who will be held accountable for these tragedies. Father explains with a beautiful prayer composed by St. Alphonsus Liguori in his sermon As the Birds Are Made to Fly

HOT ISSUES
In the aftermath of the spin that went down in Colorado last week, Editor Michael Cain weighs in with a potpourri of thoughts reflecting on the bishops' decision and why push has come to shove as far as the bishops of America are concerned. They can twist it anyway they want but unless they start enforcing the disciplines they have vowed to uphold and fairly dispense, and begin to place the spiritual welfare of souls as the priority they are not long for their posts. Not that this pope will remove them, but God has other ways of dealing with wolves in shepherds' clothing if they do not exercise their God-given duty to render to God the things that are God's before they render everything else to Caesar. Cain gets right to the point in this hot issue, To the Bishops: Use it, or lose it!

Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica's column this week packs a wallop, a real airtight argument that we doubt any Democrat, feminist or sodomite will be able to refute for his logic has no flaws. In it Gabriel offers a modest DNA proposal which cannot be refuted for it is not in the dynamics of DNA, but in the diapason of moral theology that the symphony of sound syllogism holds true: abortion is a hate crime and to pass the hate crimes bill means not only is Roe vs. Wade null and void, but must be punished as such! He lays out the argument against the Democrats, feminists and homosexuals with Airtight Logic!
Treasures of Tradition
We are delighted to introduce to our readers another Traditional priest who will provide articles on the Catholic Faith in his column "Treasures of Tradition." Father Paul Trinchard, S.T.L., head of MAETA out of the New Orleans area, laments the loss of these treasures as he points out that the U.S. Bishops' response in Colorado shows that an avalanche of apostasy is upon us and only when these charlatans in purple and scarlet are rooted out, and the Canonized Mass reinstituted, will God once again shed His graces upon His Church. Father's books, pamphlets, and tapes are available at www.maeta.com and maily dedicated to reinstituting the Mass of All Ages - the Immemorial Mass of Tradition - the Canonized Mass of Trent; for only in the Holy Sacrifice codified by Pope Saint Pius V is there found the Treasures of Tradition that is the divinely ordained Latin Mass. Father's first article deals with this and the warning in Apocalypse 3: 16 to the Church of Laodicia in reference to the American bishops in The Lukewarm Landslide
Deprogramming Diabolical Disorientation
Stanford Gabiel Espedal provides an excellent essay on the Dogma of the Faith in confirming the infallible dogma Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus - Outside the Church there is no salvation. He documents the Fathers, Doctors and infallible Papal pronouncements of this and points out that since the advent of Vatican II pastors have veered from Pope Pius XII's words in Humanis generis and have "reduced to a meaningless formula the necessity of belonging to the one, true Church in order to obtain salvation." Mr. Espedal points out succinctly that Vatican II is toothless and those gumming mandates that we must follow those relative "opinions" are way out in left field and have forgotten that Trent is still in full force and to veer from that in anyway is apostasy. He expands in deprogramming diabolical disorientation of Vatican II and ecumenism with his magnificent essay The Word of God, The Church, and Salvation
Catholic PewPOINT
The Feast of St. John the Baptist on June 24th marks this year the 23rd anniversary of the purported apparitions at Medjugorje. Because of their previous affiliation with Medjugorje, Editor Michael Cain believes it's time to clear the air in stating The Daily Catholic's official position on Medjugorje and detailing the reasons why an Authentic Roman Catholic cannot in good faith buy into its authenticity for the very reason that Our Lady cannot contradict herself nor can her Divine Son deceive or be deceived just as we profess in the Act of Faith. He lays it all out in his editorial, The Medjugorje Menagerie
Christ or chaos
For the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, which signaled the precursor of Christ, the Baptist's signature was calling sinners to repentance. Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey, in his column for St. John's feast, illustrates the stark contrast of this necessity with the tragic condition of the modern Sanhedrin in America today - the United States Bishops who, rather than following the example of St. John, are the antithesis to what he called for by harboring sinners and condoning, by their actions and inactions, their sinful ways. Tom points out the price many holy martyrs paid and the scandalous, apostate theft of the Faith by the modern Pharisees in scarlet and magenta that better replicates Herod of Antipas for the vast majority of the prelates have aligned themselves with Salome and are themselves unwilling to offer their heads as St. John did or repent of their evil ways. Are these the kind of men we should follow? Tom clearly answers this in his column Herod's Helpers

Tower of Trent Tribute
On the Feast of Corpus Christi we completed our inaugural Tower of Trent Tributes alphabetically among the three lay honorees of the fifteen charter members of the Tower of Trent Hall of Honor. Though "G" would not normally qualify for last in the alphabet, it did in this case and yet, though last, he is definitely not least for this editor owes his convictions to the irrefutable syllogisms Atila Sinke Guimarães laid out and backed up. This quiet quotient Master whispered wisdom on the pages of his books and articles that shouted from the rooftops the very fact that what took place at the Second Vatican Council was not a Renewal of the Faith but an insidious Revolution to destroy the True Faith. That is what not only woke us up, but planted the zeal to turn The Daily Catholic from what it was in 2000 as a thriving Novus Ordo publication preaching John Paul the Great to sacrificing it all in order to do the right thing. Cut off by all Novus Ordinarians at the time, we set out on the lonely but fruitful and sure path of Tradition and have never looked back. To that commitment, we thank this noble honoree, the distinguished gentleman and esteemed author of the Eli, Eli, Lamma Sabacthani? series that will be remembered as quite possibly the most succinct and definitive collection to flesh out the causes and effects of these troubled times in the history of Holy Mother Church. And so, it is with great honor and a privilege, and a thank you to our readers, that we can present the Tower of Trent Trophy to Atila Sinke Guimarães

Tower of Trent Tribute
Tuesday we honored a man known the world over and admired for both his acting and directing prowess, faith and family values. What he has accomplished this year is nothing short of a miracle and we're not even half way through the year! Yet hundreds of millions have seen his masterpiece 'The Passion of The Christ' and been deeply moved by the genuine Catholicity of his film that will live forever as a visual work of art on par with the works of the masters Michelangelo and Carravagio. Our honoree today has taken the celluloid canvas and brought it to life in a way that few meditations could ever capture for it was done through the intense passion of a man of Tradition whose truly Catholic work has touched more souls than all the bishops combined over the past 40 years. With great honor we presented the Tower of Trent Trophy to Mel Gibson
Tower of Trent Tribute
Resuming our Tower of Trent Tributes, we honor three outstanding lay leaders who have made such an impact on the Traditional movement and for Holy Mother Church. Going alphabetically, the first honored was Michael Davies the prolific British writer whose writings are well-known worldwide and who, as head of Una Voce for eight years, served as the unofficial adjutor between the cause of the Latin Mass and modern Rome. He has literally written thousands of articles on the Faith and the liturgical consequences that he is regarded by many as the foremost liturgical lay expert in the English-speaking world. In addition he has served as the willing guide for 15 years for the Chartres Pilgrimages each Pentecost. Now his health is waning but he continues to write as he is able and we offer our prayers for him and thank God for his writings that have better enabled confused Catholics to more clearly see the subterfuge that has undermined Holy Mother Church. Thus, as chosen by the readers, we presented the Tower of Trent Trophy to Michael Davies
Friday we completed our clergy presentations of the Tower of Trent Trophy by enshrining Bishop Richard Williamson into the Hall of Honor. Since his consecration to the episcopacy in June 1988, he has been a gardener of the harvest in forming holy priests as rector of the Society of St. Pius X Seminaries in America and South America. He has covered the western hemisphere in fashioning priests for our Lord's vineyard. Richard Williamson was born into an Anglican family in England on March 8, 1940. Though he did not realize it at the time, he was born literally in the shadow of the feast of angelic Doctor Saint Thomas Aquinas on March 7, a saint who would come to play such an important role in his life. Converted to True Catholicism, he became a priest of the Society of St. Pius X and created bishop along with three other men dedicated to serving God in June 1988. As we have seen since, the resolve of this bishop has strengthened, manifested in his commitment to the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church. Thus we completed our tribute to the clergy by enshrining His Excellency in the Tower of Trent Hall of Honor and presenting the Tower of Trent Trophy to Bishop Richard Williamson
Tower of Trent Tribute
Thursday we presented the Tower of Trent Trophy to Father James F. Wathen, the relentless and mighty missionary of Truth and Tradition who has logged millions of miles over the last thirty years bringing the Sacraments to Traditional Catholics throughout the United States. For Father James, have the True Mass, will travel. While even to this day he remains a simple Traditional priest, he has never been one to withhold his opinions and facts and it is his books which will be his legacy for future Catholic generations who will see the wisdom of his words. His most famous book is, of course, The Great Sacrilege, which in 2001 Father graciously gave us permission to publish on The Daily Catholic. The fact is that in over thirty years NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO REFUTE his words for they hold up and are in harmony with the perennial, infallible Magisterium of the Church. It is a book we strongly recommend every Catholic read. In these days when he continues the good fight including trying to beat cancer, it is our honor to enshrine Father into the Tower of Trent Hall of Honor and present the Tower of Trent Trophy to Father James F. Wathen
Tower of Trent Tribute
Wednesday we presented, in alphabetical order, the Tower of Trent Trophy to Father Nicholas Gruner, the indefatigable defender of and crusader for Our Lady of Fatima. There probably is not a more famous priest today, known in both Traditional and Novus Ordo circles and regarded in a far different light in the latter for the vast majority of Novus Ordinarians have been dumbed down and duped into thinking Father Gruner is to blame where, in truth he has the cure for world peace. It is not found in the military operations in Iraq or in the boardrooms or in the U.N. chambers or NATO or any manmade operation. It is not found in the words of the Pope, but rather in the simple words of the most pure human who ever walked this earth - the Blessed Mother of God who told the children at Fatima to have the Pope consecrate, in union with all the bishops of the world, her Immaculate Heart specifically to Russia. If the Pope did this, peace was guaranteed for Russia would be converted. If not, then Russia's errors would spread worldwide. There is no question they have and Father remains one of the lonely firm voices crying in the void: Listen to your Mother! Other than millions who have pledged their Rosaries, the powers that be have not only ignored his plea, but sought to silence him. For his undaunting courage in the face of persecution it is our honor to enshrine Father into the Tower of Trent Hall of Honor and present the Tower of Trent Trophy to Father Nicholas Gruner
Today we present, in alphabetical order, the Tower of Trent Trophy to Bishop Bernard Fellay, who was not only one of the four famous priests consecrated to the Episcopacy that prompted the meaningless Ecclesia Dei canard, but also one of the youngest bishops ever at only 30 years old. He was elected Superior General of the Society of Saint Pius X in 1994 and remained so for the past 10 years. Headquartered in Menzingen, Switzerland he's been responsible for overseeing the expansion of the SSPX worldwide in following the charge of the man who both ordained and consecrated him Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. While we have done extensive research in trying to find biographical information on His Excellency, we have unfortunately come up dry other than the basics. Therefore we shall share some of the highlights of the Society during his formative years and finish up with his latest declaration which assures he will hold fast to Tradition. One thing for sure: God knows what counts and we will count on that to enshrine His Grace into the Tower of Trent Hall of Honor and present the Tower of Trent Trophy to Bishop Bernard Fellay
Tower of Trent Tribute
Monday we began presenting the Tower of Trent Trophy to those the majority of voters chose among the living - those who carry on the good fight in keeping the Faith and preserving the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church. There are eight and we've broken it down by honoring first those members of the clergy and then the last three will be the three outstanding lay honorees. In beginning with the clergy alphabetically it was no coincidence that we honored first Father Gommar A. De Pauw, a Belgian-born priest who has been a priest for 62 years and still going strong for the years have been good to him as God has preserved his noble general of Tradition. Father has seen action on the front line of the wars - the Second World War where he was a medic and then later a Chaplain, and later at Vatican II where he was a personal expert and "procurator" and saw first hand how the Rhine was indeed flowing into the Tiber for the subterfuge wrought from that 21st Council would so throw Holy Mother Church into a terrible malaise over the next 40 years. While Father was cooperative in many things, he would never say the Novus Ordo and, indeed was the first priest to establish the Catholic Traditionalist Movement before Vatican II had even come to completion. Before Cardinal Ottaviani ever penned his Intervention, before Archbishop Lefebvre ever established the Society, Fr. De Pauw began the preservation of the Faith with the CTM (Catholic Traditionist Movement). Thus for his long service for Our Lord and Our Lady, we proudly presented the Tower of Trent Trophy to Father Gommar A. De Pauw
Tower of Trent Tribute
Sunday we completed our presentation of the Crimson Cross - the posthumous arena for 7 of the 15 charter recipients of the Tower of Trent Trophy. Our seventh recipient listed alphabetically was a priest who toed the line of the Vatican II changes until he'd had enough when he realized in 1977 that those to whom he must be obedient were not being obedient to the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church, and therefore being disobedient to God. Realizing the path had just grown narrower, he resisted the unlawful command of his bishop to give communion in the hand and stood up to the apostate bishops against such a sacrilege. Rather than fleeing the land, he dug in and, in his indomitable Texan-style reminiscent of John Wayne, set about to revive the Old Faith in the Los Angeles area for the next 25 years. Through his efforts he established a school in Garden Grove which is thriving today and one of the few places in the largest diocese in the U.S. where there is a daily Traditional Mass. The fruits of his work grow stronger every day. He died at the age of 87 on Our Lady's Saturday on September 28, 2002, having harvested a heritage of good fruits during the last 25 years of his noble priesthood laboring for God's lambs. We were proud to present posthumously to this no-nonsense Texan of Tradition the Crimson Cross award and Tower of Trent Trophy to Father Frederick Schell, S.J.
On Saturday we honored the sixth of the seven listed alphabetically posthumously. He was a priest whom the esteemed Dr. Dietrich von Hildebrand, a fellow recipient of the Tower of Trent Trophy this past Tuesday, called a fearless defender of the Faith - Fidei Defensor. He was born into a large Italian immigrant family in New York City in 1915 and growing up knew little of the gods of atheism or the Antichrist but his experiences and schooling would prepare him well to warn others of the terrible curse that visited this nation during the last half of the twentieth century and now threatens to explode early in the twenty-first century. Were it not for his deep abiding Faith and love for Christ, he could easily have gone the way of apostasy and liberal theology as so many of his fellow Jesuits did. Indeed God protected His faithful servant from the ravages of heresy and schism even though he had been exposed to these terrors in Rome and state-side. Because he knew his Faith, he was able to identify the problems and was chosen to alert others of the evils that were determined to wipe out Catholicism world-wide. He is best remembered for three books that should be required reading in every home: Gods of Atheism', 'The Roots of Violence', and Antichrist'. He succumbed to cancer shortly after the last book came out and yet, through his work he will be remembered as we honored this Fearless Fidei Defensor today with the Tower of Trent Trophy to Father Vincent P. Miceli, S.J.
Tower of Trent Tribute
Continuing in our presentation of the Crimson Cross in the posthumous arena we honored on Friday the son of German immigrants, Walter L. Matt who came from a long line of Catholic lay journalists. His grandfather launched the German-language Wanderer, and his father, Joseph Matt, a Papal Knight of St. Gregory (K.S.G.), founded the English-language Wanderer -- still the oldest Catholic weekly newspaper in the United States. Walter Matt was an editor of The Wanderer for some thirty years before he founded The Remnant in 1967 of which he was the editor/publisher for some twenty-five more years. Over his long, fifty-some years in the Catholic press apostolate, he wrote countless studies on countless different topics, concerning both the Catholic Church and the secular State. He was a highly decorated veteran of World War II and was still active in the fight to restore the traditions of the Catholic Church until his death in 2002 at 87 years of age where he passed away in the odor of sanctity at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota on April 21st, the 8th day within the Octave of the Solemnity of St. Joseph. Walter Matt is generally regarded as one of the pioneer founders of the Traditional Catholic Movement in the United States. And so, in respect to his accomplishments and the example he set in word and action, we take great delight in presenting to this trailblazer of Truth and Tradition, the Tower of Trent Trophy to Sir Walter L. Matt
Tower of Trent Tribute
We honored on Thursday the priest who authored several best-sellers, such as The Jesuits, Hostage to the Devil, The Vatican, The Keys of This Blood, The Final Conclave, and his final one Windswept House to name a few of his page-turning thrilling novels on the Church. Though he passed nearly five years ago, it took until now for his former Vicar General of the Jesuits to exonerate this man who was so maligned. The truth which we have always maintained is that Father Malachi Brendan Martin was indeed granted a full and legal dispensation from his Jesuit vows of obedience, but not from celibacy. He was given a perpetual celebret to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in private. Finally his reputation has been restored as it should and we take great delight in presenting to this warrior of the word, this scribe of intrigue and inspiration Tower of Trent Trophy to Father Malachi Martin
Tower of Trent Tribute
Continuing in our presentation of the Crimson Cross - the posthumous arena for 7 of the 15 charter recipients of the Tower of Trent Trophy - we honored on Wednesday the third of the seven alphabetically. That is, of course the noble French Archbishop who stood fast by Tradition when seemingly all others abandoned the house of God. For his transgression of obeying God before man, he was greatly persecuted. In his honor we present today a tribute to the modern Apostle of Tradition, who, rather than caving under pressure by so many of his cohorts, stuck to his guns and was loyal to the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church as he walked his own Calvary in rejection and even illegal excommunication from the Church he so loved. Father Ramon Anglais, who provided the biography used for His Excellency, wrote "In the fluctuations of history God raises extraordinary men and women charged with a particular mission. Without them, the face of the world and the Church would not be the same today." The Great Facade of the Vatican II Revolution has managed to pollute the minds of so many Catholics as to the holiness of this man and the fact Archbishop Lefebvre was right in doing what he did for the welfare of Holy Mother Church. And so it was fitting that we honored posthumously and presented the Tower of Trent Trophy to Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre
Tower of Trent Tribute
Continuing alphabetically with the 'H's, we honored and enshrined on Tuesday in the Tower of Trent Hall of Honor a man whom Pope Pius XII stated was the eminent philosopher of the 20th Century, and could truly be a Doctor of the Church for modern times were he canonized. Considering the factory of saints being churned out in modern times, that could be a possibility but let us not rush such exalted finality of honors for the man honored today would not subscribe to such instantaneous sanctity. He was a disciple of what Holy Mother Church taught for centuries and found in Her the truths, wisdom and logic he had sought. He was a man who spanned the trials and travails of the turbulent twentieth century from World War I through very harrowing times in World War II to the Revolution of the sixties and Vatican II. He warned post-conciliar popes of the grave error of following in this path and wrote two masterpieces The Devastated Vineyard and The Trojan Horse in the City of God in trying to warn the faithful of the folly followed by those committed to the reforms of Vatican II. He was a prolific writer who has left us many excellent works and is lionized in a biography by his second wife Dr. Alice von Hildebrand Soul of a Lion. We presented posthumously, the Tower of Trent Trophy to Dr. Dietrich von Hildebrand
Tower of Trent Trophy
  • We kick off our tribute to the charter recipients of the Tower of Trent Hall of Honor with the first of fifteen so honored this year. Going alphabetically, we begin today by honoring and presenting the Tower of Trent Trophy posthumously to the man known as the "Lion of Campus" - Bishop Antonio de Castro Mayer. He was a wiry, small frail man whose courage was taller and fuller than the mighty rain forests of his beloved Brazil. The love in his veins for Jesus and His Blessed Mother and the one True Faith of Tradition stretched further and flowed freer than the Amazon tributaries of his land. His exclamation of the True Faith shone over his country as majestically as the towering statue of Christ high above Sao Paulo. This Lion of Brazil was the determined, loyal field marshal of the epic battle against Fideicide as he rallied and maintained the last Traditional Diocese in the world, all in a humble corner of South America. He was Dom Antonio de Castro Mayer, Bishop of Campos, Brazil who was called home on the Feast of Saint Mark, the Evangelist representing the Lion - April 25, 1991 at the age of 87. Tower of Trent Trophy to Bishop de Castro Mayer

These were the Good - singled out for the Tower of Trent honor by our readers, but what these men above resisted and what all Traditional Catholics today are faced with is personified in those chosen as the bad and the ugly as our readers chose this year. Click on the images below to see the culprits in the secular sector and the hierarchy.
